Welcome to A Little Wordy!

Hey there! A Little Wordy is the perfect game for all you word wizards out there. Get ready to have a blast as we put your word skills to the test! In this game, you’ll need to come up with a secret word using the letter cards you’re given. And that’s not all – you’ll also need to guess your opponent’s secret word! So get ready for some guessing fun!

Oh, and here’s a little tip: it’s not just about guessing the word correctly. You’ll also want to collect as many Berry Tokens as possible. So keep your eyes on the prize and stash those tokens!

Let’s Get Started!

Ready to dive in? Great! Start by sitting across from each other, making sure you can’t peek at what the other person is doing. Now let’s shuffle the Vanilla Deck and the Spicy Decks separately. Take four cards from each deck and lay them out between you and your opponent. Make sure both of you can see them clearly. The rest of the cards can go back in the box – we won’t be needing them for now.

In the middle of the playing area, we have what we call the Bank. This is where all the Berry Tokens are placed. The Letter Tiles, on the other hand, are separated into their own bags and mixed up really well.

Now, each player is going to randomly draw 4 Vowel Tiles and 7 Consonant Tiles. These tiles are then placed behind their player boards, hidden from their opponent. And just like that, we are ready to start the game!

Let’s Play!

Here’s how it works. You want to form a secret word using the tiles you have. Arrange them in any way that spells a valid word. It doesn’t matter if it’s a short word or a long word, as long as it’s valid and made only with the tiles you have. Once your word is formed, write it down on your Player Shield in the designated section. Then, scramble your tiles so that your word is hidden from view. Remember, your secret word should always stay secret.

To start the game, I suggest writing down your word and folding your Player Shield. This way, both players can easily see each other’s tiles. Don’t forget, you can jot down notes on your folded Shield. Once both players are ready, it’s time to swap tiles! Give all your tiles to your opponent, and they’ll do the same for you. Now, let’s take turns!

During your turn, you have two options: activate a clue or guess your opponent’s word. Activating a clue can give you a hint to help you guess the word. Each clue card has an action, an activation fee, and specific instructions. After you follow the instructions and your opponent earns their Berry Tokens from the bank, your turn ends.

During your turn, you have the option to guess your opponent’s secret word instead of using a clue card. Simply announce your guess and see if you’re correct. If you are, then the game is nearing its end. However, if your guess is incorrect, your opponent will gain two Berry Tokens from the bank, and it will be the end of your turn.

Wrapping Up the Game

The outcome of the game hinges on the number of Berry Tokens each player possesses. If you have the most Berry Tokens when you successfully guess your opponent’s secret word, congratulations! You are the winner. But if you have fewer Berry Tokens than your opponent when you make the correct guess, the game will continue until you manage to earn at least one more Berry Token than them. Once you accomplish that, victory is yours! However, if your opponent amasses more Berry Tokens and successfully guesses your secret word, they will emerge as the ultimate winner.
