The Jenga Variant Rules
If you want to practice on your own, give this game a go! See if you can beat your personal best height before the tower collapses.
- Take a block off any level with care. Then, place it steadily on top of the tower.
- Continue removing and stacking the blocks to make the tower taller and shakier.
- How high is too high? You’ll find out when the tower finally falls down!
2. Jenga Chips
What You Need
- A Jenga game set.
- A set of poker chips.
How to Play
Hey there, I’ve got a fun game for you to play. It’s called Tower Tumble, and it’s super easy to learn. Want to give it a try?
Here’s how it works: we all start with one chip. The goal is to be the first player to collect a certain number of chips and win the game.
When it’s your turn, you have a few options:
- You can pass and put one of your chips in the center as a bonus. This might tempt other players to knock over the tower!
- Or you can pay one dollar to the bank, draw a block, and add it to the top of the tower. Now things get interesting. Two possibilities can happen:
- If the tower stays standing, you get to collect two chips from the bank and keep the bonus that’s building up in the center. Not bad!
- But if the tower falls, you don’t get any chips, and you have to pay half of your chips (rounding up) to the player who put the last chip on top. If you’re the last player, those chips go into the bonus instead.
The next round starts with whatever chips are left in the bonus. And the player next to the one who knocked over the tower goes first.
To win the game, you’ll need to be the first player to collect the agreed-upon amount of chips. It’s as simple as that!
Doesn’t that sound like a blast? I can’t wait to start playing Tower Tumble with you!
The game continues until the agreed-upon number of rounds elapse or until one player accumulates the most chips, emerging as the victor.
3. Teams of Two
To participate, gather the group and divide them into pairs. To ensure even teams, I will join in if there is an odd number of group members.
When playing, I prioritize allowing my partner to take charge and make the most of their game time. If you choose to join, remember to follow the rules and penalties just like everyone else.
For optimal gameplay, it is preferable for teammates to position themselves across the room rather than sitting side by side.
“No Talking” – Optional / Additional Rule
Once I step away from my seat, I can’t use words to communicate with my team. It’s a challenge, but it pushes us to think creatively and find other ways to get our message across.
But here’s the catch: if I happen to speak, even just once, my team has to face the consequences. They need to move a penalty piece on top of their original piece. And if I make the mistake of speaking more than once, they have to move another piece for each time I break the rule.
