Variant Rules for Gravwell: Escape from the 9th Dimension
Hey there! I’ve got some super exciting variant rules for Gravwell: Escape from the 9th Dimension that you’re going to absolutely love. These rules will add a new level of fun and challenge to your gameplay, so let’s dive right in!
Variant 1: Gravity Wells
Have you ever wanted to change the gravitational forces in the game? Well, now you can with the Gravity Wells variant! Instead of the standard black hole tokens, you’ll use gravity well tokens. These tokens will allow you to manipulate the movement of ships even more.
With the Gravity Wells variant, you’ll be able to create powerful gravitational fields that can either attract or repel ships. This introduces a whole new level of strategy to the game as you strategically place the gravity well tokens to your advantage.
Variant 2: Warp Gates
Are you ready to take your space travel to the next level? Then the Warp Gates variant is for you! In this variant, you’ll be able to build and use warp gates to instantly teleport your ship across the board.
By strategically placing the warp gate tokens on the board, you’ll be able to create shortcuts and outsmart your opponents. This adds a whole new dimension to the game as you carefully plan your moves and predict your opponents’ strategies.
Variant 3: Time Dilation
Time can be a tricky thing, but with the Time Dilation variant, you’ll be able to manipulate it to your advantage. In this variant, you’ll have access to time dilation tokens that can slow down the movement of ships.
By strategically placing these tokens, you can create areas of slowed time that will affect the movement of ships passing through. This introduces a new layer of tactical decision-making as you consider the timing and placement of your tokens.
Variant 4: Quantum Anomalies
Get ready for a twist in reality with the Quantum Anomalies variant! In this variant, you’ll have access to quantum anomaly tokens that will randomly change the movement of ships.
When a ship passes through a quantum anomaly, its movement will be determined by rolling a dice. This adds an element of unpredictability to the game and keeps you on your toes as you navigate the ever-changing board.
Variant 5: Celestial Phenomena
Finally, we have the Celestial Phenomena variant, which adds some cosmic chaos to the game. In this variant, you’ll use celestial phenomenon tokens to introduce random events and obstacles.
These tokens can cause ships to be pushed off course, attract or repel other ships, or even create temporary barriers. This unpredictable element adds a whole new level of excitement and challenge to the game.
So there you have it, five awesome variant rules to spice up your game of Gravwell: Escape from the 9th Dimension. Each variant brings its own unique twist to the gameplay, adding new layers of strategy, unpredictability, and excitement. Give them a try and see how they elevate your gaming experience!
Alright, get ready to dive into an exciting space adventure! In this game, you’ll have the chance to control not just one spaceship, but also a mysterious Ghost Ship guided by pure luck. Cool, right? Let’s get started!
First, we need to set everything up. Place your spaceship and one other spaceship into something called the Singularity, and also put one abandoned ship on space #36. Now, let’s get to the gameplay!
Every round, you’ll shuffle the Fuel Cards and make two stacks, each with five cards face down. Then, put one card face up on top of each stack. You’ll choose one stack to play with, while the Ghost Ship will play with the other stack. Shuffle the Ghost Ship’s six cards together and place them face down.
Now it’s time to make your moves. Choose the Fuel Card you want to play for each Movement Phase and place it face up in front of you. At the same time, reveal the top card of the Ghost Ship’s deck. Here comes the exciting part – resolve the movements in alphabetical order, just like before, and then discard both cards.
Hey there, are you ready to embark on a thrilling mission through space? Your objective is to reach the Warp Gate before the Ghost Ship does. Remember, you only have four rounds to accomplish this, so time is of the essence!
But here’s the catch – you can’t use any Emergency Stop! cards during this mission. However, to help you remember the color of your ship, place one face down next to you.
No Secrets
Are you an experienced player looking for an extra challenge? Well, here’s a variant for you! In this version, you won’t have any secrets up your sleeve. During the typical card draft, don’t place any of the cards face down.
Instead, each stack will have two face-up cards. After the draft, keep your chosen stack face up in front of you until everyone else has made their selection. Then everyone collects their cards and keeps them secret for the rest of the round. Don’t worry, the game continues as usual after the draft.
Hardcore Mode
Hey there, fellow space explorers! This is a challenge specifically designed for the bravest among us. If you’re up for it, I’ve got a special card just for you – the Emergency Stop! card!
Now, don’t be fooled by its name. This card is no ordinary tool. In fact, you can only use it once during the entire game! So you’ve got to think long and hard before you decide when to play it. Use your ingenious judgment wisely, my friend.
After you’ve made the bold move to use your Emergency Stop! card, make sure to keep it face down right in front of you. It’s a little reminder of the color spaceship you’ve chosen. After all, we wouldn’t want you to forget in the midst of all the excitement.
Oh, and here’s a little secret for you – you can actually combine this variant with other variants if you’re feeling extra adventurous. Just imagine the possibilities!
Welcome to the Warp Gate
Hey there, space explorer! When my spaceship jets into the Warp Gate space (#54), it gets whisked away in a jiffy. But don’t you worry, ’cause unlike the regular game, that Warp Gate doesn’t close up tight on us. Nope, we get to keep playing the Round!
Now, hold on tight, ’cause here’s the deal. The game comes to an end after Movement Phase 6 in the Round when the first player enters the Warp Gate and activates it. And guess what? If you’re one of the lucky ones who makes it through that Warp Gate during the final Round, you’ll share the sweet, sweet victory of escaping the Gravwell! Yeehaw!
Quick tip: You can totally mix and match this variant with others – go crazy with your gamin’!
The Chaotic Fuel Card Shuffle
Alright, listen up! Imagine this – during Movement Phase 1 of every Round, the Fuel Card you play is gonna be totally random. Can you handle that kind of chaos? Don’t worry, you got this!
Here’s how it goes: after we finish our usual draftin’ routine, it’s time for a little guessing game. You shuffle up the six cards in your hand, nice and good. And then, the player on your left picks one of those cards without peeking and slaps it down face down in front of you. Talk about a fun surprise!
So here’s how it works: when everyone has a card in front of them, we turn them all face up and handle them in alphabetical order, just like we usually do. Don’t forget to play the rest of the Movement Phases as you normally would.
Remember: you can mix and match this variant with other ones if you like.
