Hey there! So, I wanted to tell you about this game called Big City. It’s super cool because there are so many different things you can do to make it even more fun. I’m going to share a few ideas with you that you might want to try out.

Trade Cards

If you want to try something new, you can choose to trade one or two cards with other players. You have a couple of options when it comes to trading: you can trade both cards with one player, or you can trade one card with two different players. But keep in mind that other players can’t trade with each other during this time.

Before making a trade, let the other players know that you have cards to trade. You can tell them which neighborhood or neighborhoods the cards are from, and you can even mention the neighborhoods you’re interested in. However, don’t mention specific property numbers.

The other players can offer you a card or cards from the neighborhood you requested or from any other neighborhood they want. Just like you, they can’t mention specific property numbers. If two players agree to a trade, they exchange the cards face down and add them to their hands.

If I can’t find anyone to trade with, I have the option to exchange up to two cards from the stacks. It works the same as the regular card exchange, but I can only swap a maximum of two cards. So, if I was only able to trade one card, I won’t be able to exchange the other one.

No More Useless Cards

Instead of simply discarding cards that become useless when parks or factories are played, I can make it a rule to exchange them for new ones. This makes the impact of these actions even more challenging, as players will have to choose between holding onto useless cards or spending a whole turn to get new ones.

When you play with this variant, something interesting happens. If you draw cards later on during the game, you might end up with cards that you can’t use! It’s important to keep this in mind if you’re thinking about exchanging cards.

Usually, you can branch out your streetcar line wherever you want. But with this variant, you have to be careful. You want to make sure your streetcars create one long line that doesn’t branch out or loop back. So, you can only add new streetcars to one end or the other.

You have a couple of options when adding streetcars. You can choose to place both of them at one end of your line, or you can put one at each end. Just remember, you can’t create a closed loop with your streetcars.

A Different Kind of Streetcar Line

When it comes to building the streetcar line, let’s keep it limited to areas where people live in the city. This means that a streetcar can only be placed next to a building that already exists in the city. This will make it much more challenging to get the streetcar bonus and build the shopping center.

Controlling Card Drawing

Now, let’s limit the drawing of cards to specific neighborhoods in the city. This means that players will have to add new neighborhoods before they can draw cards for them. It adds an extra challenge to the game.
