Tramways Parcels and Buildings
Hey there! Let’s talk about tramways, parcels, and buildings. I want to explore the fascinating world of these three things and how they work together to create amazing transportation systems.
Tramways are like magic tracks that help move people from one place to another. They are like roads, but specially designed for trams, which are big vehicles that run on electricity. Trams are super cool because they don’t need gas to move, and they help reduce pollution in our cities. Can you imagine how incredible that is?
Parcels, on the other hand, are like special packages that are sent from one place to another using these tramways. They can be different things like letters, gifts, or even food. The tramways help transport these parcels quickly and efficiently, making sure they reach their destination on time. Plus, it’s exciting to think about all the things that might be inside these mysterious parcels!
Now, let’s talk about buildings. Buildings are everywhere, right? Well, did you know that tramways can actually go through buildings? It’s like a secret highway that runs right under our noses! These special buildings are designed to allow trams to pass through them, so people inside can easily access the tramway and get to where they need to go. It’s like having a train station right inside a building – how cool is that?
So, there you have it! Tramways, parcels, and buildings all work together to create an incredible transportation system. Trams zoom along the tracks, carrying parcels from one place to another, and some buildings even have special sections for trams to pass through. It’s like living in a real-life adventure every day!
As long as a Parcel space is still a Parcel space (in other words, not yet a Building), you have to use the Parcel Number Action Icon if you want to do any of the following:
- Move a Passenger to this destination (without receiving any bonus).
- Complete a link by using this space as the end point where you play an Action Icon.
- Construct a Building on this space.
Once a Building has been constructed on a Parcel space, you have to use the Destination Action Icon that matches the type of the Building if you want to do any of the following:
- When you want to move a passenger to a specific destination and receive the bonus for that type of building.
- When you need to complete a link and use this area as the endpoint by playing an action icon.
- When you decide to upgrade this building.
Let’s take a look at this example: Orange has successfully created links from the Commerce to Parcel A in the north, and from the Residence to Parcel B in the center. But there’s a problem. The passenger located at the Commerce cannot travel to the Residence because Parcel A and Parcel B are next to each other but not connected.
In order to transport the passenger, Orange has two options. They can build a straight rail through Parcel A to connect to Parcel B, or they can build a curved rail through Parcel B to connect to Parcel A. Alternatively, they can choose to construct both rails in order to combine the two existing links into one.
Alright, let me break it down for you. We’ve got a few choices here. Option one and option two would both give Orange 2 HP, but option three would only give Orange 1 HP for moving the Passenger. Oh, but here’s an interesting twist – there’s a sneaky fourth option! This one would actually give Orange 3 HP. How, you ask? Well, it involves building 2 curved Rails in C and D to connect A to B. Pretty clever, right? So, if you’re looking to rack up those HP points, that fourth option might be the way to go!

Hey there! Let me break it down for you. So, in this picture, Orange has built an Industry on Parcel A. The tricky part is that A isn’t connected to B. Now, his options to connect them are limited because he can’t build Rail through A anymore.
But don’t worry, there are still ways to make it work. Orange can build a curved Rail in B to connect to the existing line that leads to the Residence. That way, when the Passenger moves to the Residence, it will be worth 2 HP. Another option is to build curved Rails in C and D to link the Industry to Parcel B. This would make the Passenger move worth 3 HP.

Hey there! So, here’s the deal: Orange built a fancy new Residence on Parcel B, but the Commerce is like, totally disconnected from both the Residence and the Industry. Oops! The only way to fix this is by constructing some new curved Rails in C and D to, you know, connect the Industry to the shiny new Residence.
Oh, but here’s the thing— even if Orange manages to build that new Rail link, he won’t be able to drop off the Commerce Passenger at the old southern Residence. Nope, no can do! The Passenger will just stop at the first Residence it comes across. Bummer, right?

I had another intriguing alternative – why not create an Industry on Parcel B instead?
When we combine these two Industry tiles, we create a much larger Industry that links to the Commerce and the Residence.
And the best part? By constructing this Industry tile, we also attract a Passenger to Parcel B. This Passenger can board any rail that connects to the large Industry, giving them immediate access to both the Commerce and the Residence!

Later on, I built a link from my Residence to my Parcel E. Now, I want to move the Passenger at B to my Residence, but unfortunately, I can’t do it using my own link.
I have an idea, though. I could build a straight Rail in E to connect it to the large Industry. That way, I can easily transport the Passenger to my Residence.
Another option is to build a Commerce, Residence, or Leisure Building in E. However, there’s a catch – it won’t be connected to the Industry unless I build another link between them.

When you construct an Industry tile in E, something magical happens – the 2-space Industry grows into a 3-space Industry. Suddenly, all three links become accessible to every Passenger on the tile, connecting the Commerce, the Industry, and the Residence in a harmonious web.
But here’s the really exciting part: with this new configuration, you have the power to transport your Passenger from B (or A, or E) directly to the Residence using your very own Brown link. It’s like unlocking a secret pathway that others might not have discovered.
In the world of Alban Viard games, thinking outside the box can lead to great rewards. A little lateral thinking can go a long way!
