Cracking the Code of Tavern Symbols

Oh boy, I’ve got some insider knowledge to share with you! We’re gonna delve into the mysterious symbols you’ll find in the Taverns of Tiefenthal game. These symbols are more than meets the eye – they hold the key to unlocking a whole world of fun and excitement. So strap in and get ready for a wild ride!

First off, let’s talk about symbols. You might wonder, “What are those squiggly lines for?” Well, my friend, those symbols actually represent different actions or effects in the game. Pretty nifty, huh? It’s like a secret language that only gamers know.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some of these symbols. Trust me, you’ll become a symbol master in no time. We’ve got three main types: patrons, drinks, and upgrades. Each type has its own special symbol, just waiting to be discovered.

Patrons are the lifeblood of any tavern, and they have their own special symbols. These symbols show you what kind of patrons you’re dealing with. Are they regulars, or are they high rollers? Maybe they’re looking for a specific type of drink or have a fondness for upgrades. Keep an eye out for these symbols, as they can really make a difference in your gameplay.

Speaking of drinks, they also have their own symbols. These symbols let you know what type of drink is on offer. Is it a refreshing pint of ale or a fruity cocktail? Maybe it’s a hearty mug of mead or a fiery shot of whiskey. Whatever it is, the symbols will guide you to the perfect drink for your patrons.

Now, let’s talk upgrades. These symbols are like little boosts that can give you an edge in the game. They can help you attract more patrons, serve drinks faster, or even earn you more money. Who doesn’t love a good upgrade? Just look out for the symbols and watch your tavern flourish.

So, there you have it – the secret language of tavern symbols revealed. Now you’re armed with the knowledge to conquer the game like a pro. Embrace the symbols, my friend, and let them be your guide. Cheers to all the fun and excitement that awaits you in the Taverns of Tiefenthal!

You’ve got yourself a special server now, known as the permanent Waitress. This Waitress gives you the chance to roll a Die in your color during Phase C and then place it on an action space later on.

When you hire the permanent Waitress, you won’t get the extra Die right away. Instead, you’ll start reaping the benefits in the next Round.

Let’s talk about another role – the Dishwasher.

Hey there! Guess what? You’ve got yourself a fancy new addition to your tavern – a permanent Dishwasher! Pretty cool, right?

Here’s the best part: during Phase E, once per Round, you can take a die (either a White Die or one of your own color) and place it on any action space. But get this – you can treat that die as if it’s 1 value higher than it actually is. How neat is that?

Oh, but there’s a little catch – the die doesn’t get rotated. Nope, it just gets placed right on the space with the value it was rolled as. Oh, and by the way, if you happen to roll a “6” on the die… well, sorry, buddy, but that one can’t be turned into a “1”. No shortcuts there!

Now, the only thing you’ve gotta keep in mind is that, when you first hire the permanent Dishwasher, you can’t use its special ability right away. Nope, you’ll have to wait until the following Round. Patience is a virtue, as they say.

Table

Hey there! Starting from this round, you have a total of 4 tables available to seat your guests during Phase B.

When you decide to upgrade to the additional table, there’s a little catch. You won’t be able to immediately draw new cards to fill it. The table can only be filled in the next round.

Upgrades Take Effect Right Away

A New Beer Supplier!

Hey there! I’ve got some exciting news for you. Starting now, your tavern is going to be stocked with even more Beer. How, you ask? Well, let me explain.

So, remember that upgraded Beer Supplier tile you have? Well, for every Die you take off that tile, you’re going to get not just 1 Beer, but 2 Beers! That’s right, double the Beer for each Die removed. And the good news doesn’t stop there. If you happen to have any Beer Supplier cards, you’ll get an extra Beer for each of those as well.

Imagine the possibilities! With this new setup, you’ll have an abundance of Beer flowing in. Whether you’re hosting a big party or just serving a regular crowd, you’ll never run out of cold, refreshing drinks.

Hooray for the Cashbox!

Hey there! I’ve got some exciting news for you. Starting today, every time you take out a Die from the Cashbox, you’ll get 3 Doubloons. How awesome is that?

“Special Brew”

Imagine this: every time you take out a Die from the Barrel, you get rewarded with 2 Beers. Cool, right? So, starting now, that’s exactly what will happen. Exciting times ahead! Just remember, the safety part is important too.

Hey there! Just wanted to let you in on a little secret. Starting now, you can keep up to 5 Doubloons in your Safe. Anything over 5 is no longer yours to keep, unfortunately.

Beer Storage: Keeping Your Brews Safe and Sound

Hey there! I’ve got some important news for you. Starting today, you have the capacity to store up to 5 Beers in your own Beer Storage. That’s right, you now have a dedicated space just for your favorite brews. But wait, there’s a catch. If you happen to have more than 5 Beers, you’ll have to say goodbye to the excess. Tough choice, I know.

Introducing The Monk: Your Guardian of Good Taste

Imagine having a loyal monk watching over your precious Beers. Well, now you can! Meet The Monk, your trusty companion on your beer-drinking journey. With a keen eye for flavor and a heart filled with devotion, The Monk will ensure that each sip is a delight to your taste buds. Plus, he’ll provide valuable insights to help you discover new and exciting brews.

From now on, whenever you take a Die away from the Monk, you can move your Monastery Marker forward by 2 spaces.

Bonuses on the Round Track

As soon as the Round Marker (Moon) moves to the next space on the Round Track, everyone gets a bonus right away:

Rounds 1, 4, and 6

Each player gets a Counter Guest and puts it on a bar stool at the Counter.

You can only use a Counter Guest once. After you use it, you put it back in the box. When you decide to use a Counter Guest, you have two actions to choose from (shown on either side of the Counter Guest):

Once you’ve finished filling all the tables in Phase B, it’s time to get rid of the Counter Guest and any cards you’ve drawn. This means you’ll be adding them to your discard stack.

But don’t worry, after that, you can start this phase all over again.

OR

When you reach Phase F, you can get rid of the Counter Guest to move 1 space ahead on the Monastery Track.

In Phase B or F, you have the option to use multiple Counter Guests consecutively.

Round 2

Hey there! It’s time to make your move. You’ve got two options to choose from, and they’re both pretty awesome. You can either grab yourself a “3 Beer” Guest card or snatch up a Beer Merchant card. Whichever one you choose, just place it facedown on top of your draw deck. It’s all up to you, so go with your gut and make a decision!

Round 3

Hey there! It’s time for Round 3, and there are two awesome bonuses for you to choose from. You can either pick a Die in your player color, give it a good roll, and keep it below your Tavern Board to use later in this Round. Or, you can go for a Dishwasher card, which you place face down on the top of your draw deck.

Round 5

Hey there! It’s time to make a decision. You have two exciting options to choose from. You can either grab a Table card or pick a Beer Supplier card. Once you’ve made your choice, place it face down on the top of your draw deck. Exciting, right? Now it’s up to you to decide which one will give you the edge in this round. Good luck!

Round 7

In this round, you have two options to choose from. Firstly, you can select a die in your player color, give it a roll, and then put it beneath your Tavern Board to use later on. Alternatively, you can opt for a Beer Merchant card, taking it and placing it facedown on the top of your draw deck.

Round 8

Hey there! I have some exciting news for you. In this round, you have the opportunity to upgrade any area of your Tavern for free. Cool, right? All you have to do is flip over the corresponding tile, and voila! Your chosen area is upgraded. However, there’s a catch – you won’t receive a Noble card for this upgrade. But don’t worry, the upgraded benefit is immediately available for you to enjoy in the current round.

Bonuses on the Monastery Track/Guest Cards

Now, let’s talk about bonuses on the Monastery Track and the ones that come with purchased Guest Cards. Listen up, because this is important. Any bonuses you earn from these sources must be used or taken right away. If you don’t use them immediately, you’ll lose them. So, make sure you keep an eye on those bonuses and take full advantage of them while you can.

Beer Merchant / Dishwasher/Waitress / Table / Beer Supplier

Hey there! Let me explain to you how to play this game. You need to grab the card shown in the picture and put it face down at the top of your draw deck.

Doubloons: 2/3/4

Hey there! Want to earn some Doubloons? Well, guess what? You’re in luck because I’ve got a super easy way for you to do just that.

Imagine this – you can earn the number of Doubloons that you see in the picture right away. Yup, no waiting around or lengthy processes. Just like magic!

Now, let’s talk about the Monastery Track. This is where things get really interesting. You see, when you make a movement on the track, you only have to move halfway. Yep, you heard it right, just halfway!

So, are you ready to get started? All you have to do is make a move on the track, and boom – you’ll be rewarded with sweet, sweet Doubloons. It’s as simple as that!

Oh, and before I forget, here’s a pro tip – keep track of your movements and plan them strategically. That way, you can make the most out of each move and rake in those Doubloons like a pro!

Alright, my friend, go on and give it a shot. Start making those moves on the Monastery Track and watch the Doubloons roll in. It’s time to put your game face on and embark on this exciting adventure!

Earn the pictured number of Doubloons immediately.

1/2 Monastery Track Movements

Hey there! Let’s talk about moving your Monastery Marker on the Monastery Track. You have the option to move it either 1 or 2 spaces. The cool thing is, if you move past or end up on a space that shows a bonus, you get that bonus right away! Pretty neat, huh?

Sorry, No Service for You!

When you’re playing the game, you have the ability to immediately take out one “Regular” or another Guest card that is sitting at one of your Tables. However, it’s important to note that you can only remove a Guest from the game, not from your draw deck or discard stack.

Now, there are a few restrictions to keep in mind. You can only remove a Guest if there isn’t a Die currently on it. Once you remove the Guest, the Table where they were seated won’t be refilled with another Guest.

Here’s a strategy you can use. Before you remove the Guest, you can first serve them and earn its Doubloons. Then, you can go ahead and remove the Guest card. Once you remove the Guest, it goes back to the box.

Remember, this rule specifically applies to the “Noble” Guests in the game.

When you start playing the game, you need to choose 1 Noble card and put it on the top of your draw deck, facing down.
