When I go on an Expedition, I always come back with some loot items. It’s like a treasure hunt, and I love finding new things! The Overview card shows what kind of loot items are available.

There are different places where I can go on an Expedition. These places have different levels, from 1 to 4. The level determines how many different loot items I can choose from. It’s exciting because I get to pick the items one by one, in any order I want!

But there is one thing I need to keep in mind. Each loot item on the Overview card has a Minimum strength value. This value is like a requirement for my Dwarf. To choose an item, my Dwarf’s Weapon strength needs to be equal to or higher than the Minimum strength value of the item. I have to make sure my Dwarf is strong enough!

Hey there! Let me tell you about the awesome “Expedition loot” Overview card. It’s packed with a ton of cool stuff and bonus actions that you can explore. Each space on the card shows a different loot item. But here’s the thing – you can only choose each item once during your expedition. So be sure to make your choices wisely!

Imagine this: I send one of my trusty Dwarfs on a daring expedition, armed with a Weapon strength of 1. It may not be much, but it’s a start. We call it a “Level 3 expedition”. The aim? To find valuable loot, of course. And let me tell you, there’s a whole world of loot out there waiting to be discovered. But my Dwarf can only handle so much on this journey. With his current strength, he managed to secure three items: “All weapons +1”, “1 Dog”, and “1 Wood”. Not too shabby, but he wasn’t quite strong enough to bring back anything better. That’s okay, though. There will be plenty more Expeditions in the future to try again.

Now, here’s an interesting twist: at the end of each and every Expedition, the Weapon strength of my Dwarf increases by 1. It’s all thanks to the experience he gains along the way. No matter what level of Expedition he embarks on, that boost is guaranteed. It’s a nice little perk, don’t you think?

Speaking of Weapons, there’s something you should know. Newly forged ones have a limit of 8 in terms of Weapon strength. But, here’s the exciting part: Expeditions can actually help us go beyond that limit. That’s right, if we play our cards right, we can push the boundaries and elevate our arsenal. How cool is that?

Hey there! I’ve got some exciting news for you. Thanks to the incredible “All weapons +1” loot item we found during our adventure, your Dwarf’s weapon strength has received a significant boost of 2 points, bringing it up to a mighty 3!

A Handy Play Order Tip for Dwarfs

Remember what we talked about on page 8? It’s super important to arrange your Dwarfs in the specific order of their weapon strength during gameplay. Start with the unarmed Dwarfs, and then place the armed Dwarfs in ascending order of their weapon strength. Simple, right?

But here’s a neat little trick. If you ever want to mix things up and change the play order, you can use a Ruby to temporarily bypass the standard order for a particular Dwarf. How cool is that?!

So, here’s the situation: you’ve got two Dwarfs hanging out in your cave, and you’re itching to go on an Expedition. But there’s a catch – the Dwarf with the mighty Weapon strength of 3 needs to be placed next.

Now, wouldn’t it be way smarter to use the Dwarf with the Weapon strength of 14 instead? I mean, talk about efficiency!

Here’s an example to illustrate the point: imagine you could spend 1 Ruby to place the super strong Dwarf with the Weapon strength of 14 before the weaker one. That would definitely be worth it, right?

All About Weapon Strength

Each weapon can only be used by one dwarf.

You can’t forge a weapon if a dwarf is already armed. This means you can’t spend Ore to upgrade or replace an existing weapon.

Weapons are connected to the dwarf who forged them. They can’t be passed on to another dwarf, and a dwarf can’t willingly get rid of their weapon. Dwarves have a deep bond with their weapons and would never let them go.

An unarmed dwarf can’t go on an expedition.

You can’t use your weapons to attack other players.

The maximum weapon strength is 14. It can’t be increased any further.

In the unlikely event that you have four unarmed dwarves, you’ll have to figure out a solution.

Let me tell you something really interesting. Picture this – a crew of dwarves, all strong and equipped with weapons. But there’s one special dwarf, a true powerhouse with a Weapon strength of 14. And guess what? You can actually use a single Ruby to place this mighty dwarf before any of your other dwarves. Pretty cool, huh?

Now, let’s talk about the importance of choosing the right loot items. It’s actually quite crucial, my friend. While you’re busy selecting your loot, we recommend that the other players keep playing. You don’t want to hold everyone up, right?

Here’s something you need to know. After the expedition, the Weapon strength of your dwarf will be increased. So, the other players can place the next highest Weapon strength marker next to your dwarf to let everyone know that you’re not done yet. Makes sense, doesn’t it?

When you’re done picking out your loot, it’s time to make a swap. You can exchange the current Weapon strength marker of your dwarf with the new one. Well, there’s one exception, my friend. If you manage to get the ‘All weapons +1’ loot item, you don’t need to swap anything. Lucky you!

Now, let’s talk about the expeditions. They are truly fascinating. You see, the game is designed in a way that you can win it in different ways. You can either take a peaceful approach or go all-in with heavy weaponry. Both strategies can lead to victory. It’s up to you to decide how you want to play.

But here’s a tip for you – with 4 or more players, if someone is the only one going after Weapons, they will most likely win. It’s a clever tactic, my friend. On the other hand, if someone chooses to ignore Weapons completely, they might just find themselves in a winning position too. It’s a strategic game, after all. You have to think smart!
