A Dive into Super Motherload
Alright, I’ve got my turn strategy all worked out. First things first, I’m gonna Draw some cards. My Draw Deck is looking a bit slim these days, down to just that one lonely card. So, I guess I’ll go ahead and draw it, right? Well, turns out, I’m in for a surprise. Since I’m left with the last card in my Draw Deck, I have to dig deep into my Discard Area. I gather up all those discarded cards, give ’em a good shuffle, and voilĂ , I’ve got myself a fresh new Draw Deck.
With my newly-shuffled Draw Deck in hand, I place it face down next to my Discard Area. Now, onto the suspenseful moment of drawing my second card. The anticipation builds as I reach for the top card in the deck, wondering what treasures lie in wait for me this time.
Second Action
Hey there! Let’s dive into the next step – the second action.
So, what’s this second action all about? Well, I’m glad you asked! It’s all about taking things up a notch and making a real impact.
Remember how we talked about the first action and how it set the foundation for success? Well, this second action builds on that foundation and really starts to make things happen.
Now, I know you might be thinking, “Wait a minute! How do I even know what the second action is?” Don’t worry, my friend, I’ve got you covered.
You see, the second action is all about taking a moment to reflect and think about what you really want to achieve. It’s about setting a clear goal and creating a plan to make it happen.
But here’s the thing – this second action isn’t just about thinking. Nope, it’s also about taking those thoughts and turning them into action. It’s about getting out there and making things happen.
Now, I know that can sound a little overwhelming, but trust me, you’ve got this. It’s all about taking it one step at a time and staying focused on your goal.
So, what are you waiting for? Take a deep breath, gather your thoughts, and let’s get ready to take that second action! You’ve got this, I believe in you.
I’m going to Drill as my next move. I’ll use three Pilot Cards: one with a Wild Drill Icon, another with two Red Drill Icons, and the last one with one Red Drill Icon.
With a total of four Drill icons, I can dig a tunnel that spans four spaces.
I grab two Tunnel Tiles that are two spaces long and place them in a straight line, connecting to an existing Tunnel Tile on the board. This new section of the tunnel covers one Iron space and two Gold spaces. This means I get to collect one Iron Mineral Tile and two Gold Mineral Tiles. To keep things organized, I’ll place all of these Mineral Tiles on top of my yellow Pilot Stack, specifically on the $10 Pilot Card.
Now, the total value of all the Mineral Tiles on my yellow card is $12. Since this value is higher than the cost of the card, a Card Buy will happen after this action.
Card Purchase (Activated by Action 2)
I grab one of my $10 Pilot Cards from the stack of Yellow Pilot Cards and put back all the Mineral Tiles that were on it, returning them to the supply. Then, I place the Yellow Pilot Card into my Discard Area.
Something catches my eye on the card’s bottom edge – an “Additional Action” Buy Bonus Icon. This special feature grants me the opportunity to take another action before my turn ends.
What to Do Next (When You Make a Purchase)
Now that you’ve made a purchase, let’s talk about what you can do with your additional action. This is a special move that you can make after buying a card. There’s a lot you can do, but for now let’s focus on one particular action: the Bomb Action.
In order to perform a Bomb Action, you’ll need to spend a Bomb Token. These tokens are pretty cool because they can actually regenerate and be used again. So, when you perform a Bomb Action, you take a Bomb Token from your supply and spend it.
Another thing you’ll need to do for a Bomb Action is discard a Red Pilot Card. This card will have a square Bomb Pattern on it. When you discard this card, it’s like saying “I’m ready to blow things up!”
Now it’s time to place some Tunnel Tiles on the Game Board. You’ll need two two-length Tunnel Tiles for this. Take these tiles and arrange them on the board to form a square shape. Make sure they connect to a Tunnel Tile that’s already on the board.
When you place these new Tunnel Tiles, they will cover up an Artifact and a Platinum space. This is great news for you because it means you get to take one of the face-down Artifacts from the supply and add it to your Player Area. Just pick one and place it face down.
But that’s not all! You also get to take a Platinum Mineral Tile. Place this tile on the top card of your Blue Pilot Stack. This will come in handy later on.
So, now you know what you can do with your additional action. Make use of the Bomb Action, place your Tunnel Tiles, grab an Artifact, and take a Platinum Mineral Tile. It’s time to level up your strategy!
I covered two spaces using Tunnel Tiles and performed the Bomb Action, and both of the spaces were rock spaces. And guess what? There’s a Minor Achievement that says “Bomb at least 2 Rock spaces in one action” – and I just did that! So now, I get to take that Minor Achievement card and put it face down in my Player Area. Woohoo!
Oh, and here’s the cool part – as soon as I claimed my Minor Achievement, I got to draw a new card from the deck of Minor Achievements that’s sitting right beside the board. I flipped it over and placed it right where the old one was. Time to see what new goal I can aim for!
