Welcome to the Official Rules for Stockpile Expansions!
Hey there! If you’re new to the game, I recommend skipping the Investors expansion and the “Advanced” side of the board for your first time. It’s easier to understand the importance of Stockpiles during the Demand Phase without the fancy investor abilities coming into play.
Get Ready for the Advanced Board Expansion!
Okay, so here’s the deal: when you play on the second side of the board, each stock has its own value track. If a stock goes bankrupt, just reset its value back to the darkened circle to start over.
And guess what? Stock splits are a thing too! When a stock splits, its value changes to the number shown in the octagon. But check this out – Stanford Steel has a special surprise. It pays out extra dividends based on those dollar signs ($) on its value track. Pretty cool, huh?
When I pass or land on these squares and my fortune changes for the better (moving from left to right), I get $1,000 for each Stanford Steel stock I own. This amount is calculated by counting the dollar signs on the square and multiplying it by how many shares of stock I have. But remember, if there’s a stock split, I need to adjust the calculation accordingly.

New Opportunities for Investors
Investor Expansion Cards are a different way to start the game. Instead of starting with the usual $20,000, each player gets a special Investor Card that gives them a unique power to use as they play.
At the beginning of the game, deal two Investor Cards to each player.
Choose one Investor Card and put the other one back in the box.
Check out these awesome Investor Cards!
Attention: In each phase, all investor abilities are activated following the turn order.
For example: Let’s say I’m Wise Warren and I kick off the round. Before the Demand Phase starts, I get to take a peek at all the face-down cards in one Stockpile. Now, it’s Maverick Mark’s turn. He decides to use his ability and move a face-down card from another Stockpile onto the one I just looked at.
In the Action Phase, any abilities that are triggered can be used before or after playing Action Cards acquired during the turn.
Clarifications for Two-Player Investor Expansion
You can still utilize Investors when playing the 2-player variant, but there are a couple of points to clarify. Each player receives four Investor Cards and gets to pick two to keep.
When determining the initial amount of money, simply add up the values specified below for both chosen investors:
Investor | Starting Money |
Billionaire Bill | $35K |
Golden Graham | $6K |
Broker Bernie | $16K |
Maverick Mark | $22K |
Crazy Cramer | $12K |
Mayknow Martha | $20K |
Discount Donald | $4K |
Secretive Stuart | $16K |
Dividend Deborah | $14K |
Wise Warren | $23K |
Investor Abilities
Note: If you have two investors with abilities that happen at the same time, you can choose the order in which you want to use their abilities.
Discount Donald – His power affects both of his Bidding Meeples.
Golden Graham – When I own stocks, it doesn’t matter who bought them. My ability still comes into play.
Mayknow Martha – My power only affects a single pair of Insider Information.
Secretive Stuart – My power applies to both sets of cards placed during the Supply Phase every round.
