Rialto Buildings
When I think about the iconic Rialto Buildings, a sense of wonder and awe comes over me. It’s as if I’m transported back in time to the glorious days of the Renaissance. The Rialto Buildings are a true architectural marvel, standing tall and majestic along the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy.
As you walk through the narrow streets of Venice, you can’t help but be captivated by the beauty and grandeur of these magnificent structures. They exude a sense of history and elegance that is hard to find anywhere else in the world. Each building tells a story, a tale of Venice’s rich past and its role as a thriving center of commerce and culture.
What makes the Rialto Buildings truly special is their unique design and construction. They were built using innovative techniques that pushed the boundaries of engineering at the time. The architects and craftsmen who worked on these buildings were true visionaries, using their creativity and skill to create structures that were not only functional but also works of art.
One of the key features of the Rialto Buildings is their intricate façades. The façade of each building is adorned with beautiful sculptures, intricate carvings, and exquisite details. These decorations are a testament to the craftsmanship and artistic talent of the time. As you admire the façades, you can’t help but be in awe of the level of detail and precision that went into creating them.
Another remarkable aspect of the Rialto Buildings is their strategic location. They were built right on the edge of the Grand Canal, which was the main thoroughfare for trade and commerce in Venice. This prime location allowed merchants and traders to conveniently access the buildings and conduct their business. It’s a reminder of Venice’s prominent role as a major economic hub during the Renaissance.
The Rialto Buildings are not just beautiful structures; they also have a practical purpose. They house a variety of businesses, including shops, boutiques, and offices. As you walk through the buildings, you’ll find yourself immersed in a world of bustling activity. The buildings are alive with the energy and excitement of people going about their daily lives.
In addition to their architectural and historical significance, the Rialto Buildings also serve as a symbol of Venice’s resilience and ability to adapt to change. Over the years, Venice has faced numerous challenges, including floods and wars. Yet, the Rialto Buildings have stood the test of time, serving as a constant reminder of Venice’s enduring spirit.
Visiting the Rialto Buildings is like stepping back in time. It’s a chance to experience the beauty and grandeur of the Renaissance era firsthand. Whether you’re a history buff, an architecture enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates beauty, the Rialto Buildings are a must-see destination.
So, if you’re planning a trip to Venice, make sure to include the Rialto Buildings on your itinerary. You won’t be disappointed. Prepare to be amazed by the sheer beauty and magnificence of these architectural treasures. They are truly a sight to behold.
When you play the game, each building has a special power. To use a building’s power, you need to put a coin on it when it’s your turn. Remember, you can only use each building once per round.
After each round, all the coins are taken off the buildings and put back in the supply.
There are also some special rules:
- If you can take a building worth more than 4, you have to take a building worth 4 first. After that, you can take another building worth the difference or less.
- You only have space for 7 buildings. If you need more space, you can return one of your buildings to the supply. When you do that, you get victory points equal to the value of the building you returned.
When I play this game, it’s important to understand that each building has a specific phase when it can be activated. This means that I can only use certain buildings at certain times, based on their color.
Phase I Buildings – Green
(I can activate these buildings after all players have taken a card row each):

If you want to play the game, you’ve got two options. You can either pick one of the cards from the ones already shown, or you can choose to draw three new cards from the pile. It’s up to you!

Hey there! Do you want to level up your game? Well, I got something exciting for you. How about keeping one extra card in your hand for this round? Yep, you heard it right! You can have an extra card to give you an edge in the game. Pretty cool, huh?

So here’s the deal: You have a couple of options as a player. First, you can snag yourself a face-up card from the row of leftover cards. OR, if that’s not your style, you can go for the big move and draw three cards from the draw pile. Your choice!
Oh, and here’s an extra little perk: you can hang on to one more card for the round. Pretty cool, right?

Hey there! Let’s talk about a cool feature in the game called “Delay”.
So, what exactly is “Delay”? Well, it’s when you decide to skip your turn and wait for another one. Seems odd, I know, but hear me out.
Imagine this: It’s your turn to play, but you’re not quite ready. Maybe you need a little more time to plan your strategy or think about your next move. Instead of rushing and making a hasty decision, you can choose to delay your turn.
By doing this, you get to sit back and observe how the other players make their moves. You know what they say – “knowledge is power”. And in the game of Delay, this rings true.
To make things even better, you also get an extra benefit. You receive one coin from the general supply. It’s like getting a little reward for being patient and taking your time.
So, why would you choose to delay your turn? Well, there are a couple of reasons. Maybe you want to see what your opponents do before making your move. Or perhaps you just need a little breather to collect your thoughts. Whatever the reason, delaying can be a strategic move that pays off in the long run.
Next time you’re playing, don’t be afraid to try out the Delay feature. It may just give you the edge you need to come out on top!

When playing the game, you have the option to use one card as a different type.
For example: Let’s say you’re in stage A. You can choose to play a Gold card as a Doge card. This will allow you to move forward one space on the Doge track.

This building is like a magic trick when you use it.
You can also use it with another magic trick card from your hand to take the place of a card you don’t have. You can use 2 of these magic trick cards as any one card.

Hey there! Let me break it down for you. When you’re playing the game, you have the option to play one card and count it as if it were two cards of a different type. Pretty cool, right?
The Fantastic Blue Buildings

If I want, I can give up one of my buildings to exchange it for another building of the same color but with a higher value. The catch is that the new building can’t be used right away – it has to wait until the next round.

When I win a game, I earn a victory point and I can choose to take one of my councilmen from the general supply and add them to my personal supply. But if I don’t have any councilmen left in the general supply, I get an extra victory point instead.

When I play the game, I move my counter on the Doge track. How many spaces I move depends on where my counter is currently. Let’s say my counter is in the 3rd position on the track. In that case, I can move it 3 spaces forward.

When you play the game, you earn three victory points.
