Researching Cars
Introduction
I’m sure you’ve seen many different types of cars on the road. Have you ever wondered how they are made or what makes them run? Cars are incredible machines that have a lot of fascinating features. In this article, I will be sharing some interesting information about cars and the technology that makes them work.
How Cars Are Made
When it comes to making cars, there are many different steps involved. First, the car manufacturers start with a design. They create a blueprint, which outlines the shape and structure of the car. Once the design is finalized, they start building the car frame using strong metals like steel. The body of the car is then assembled, and the different parts, such as the engine, transmission, wheels, and seats, are added.
How Cars Work
Now, let’s talk about how cars actually work. A car has many different systems that work together to make it move. The engine is the heart of the car – it burns fuel, usually gasoline or diesel, to produce power. This power is then transmitted to the wheels through the transmission. The wheels spin and enable the car to move forward or backward.
The car also has a steering system, which allows the driver to control the direction of the car. When the driver turns the steering wheel, it activates a mechanism that turns the front wheels in the desired direction. Additionally, cars have a braking system that uses hydraulic pressure to slow down or stop the car when needed.
Types of Cars
There are many different types of cars available today. Some are designed for speed and performance, while others focus on comfort and luxury. Here are a few common types of cars:
- Sedans: These are the most common type of cars you see on the road. They have four doors and can seat up to five people.
- SUVs: SUVs, or Sports Utility Vehicles, are larger than sedans and have a higher ground clearance. They are often used for off-roading or carrying a lot of cargo.
- Convertibles: Convertibles have a retractable roof that can be folded down, allowing you to experience the open air while driving.
- Electric Cars: Electric cars run on electricity instead of gasoline or diesel. They are becoming more popular as people look for eco-friendly transportation options.
Conclusion
Cars are amazing machines that have revolutionized the way we travel. From the design and manufacturing process to the different systems that make them work, there is a lot of technology involved. Whether you’re driving a sedan, an SUV, or an electric car, understanding how cars work can give you a whole new appreciation for these incredible vehicles. So next time you see a car on the road, take a moment to think about all the amazing things happening under the hood!
Hey there! Let me tell you all about these awesome research development cards in the game. So, in the car body and engine categories, players can earn research points. These points are super important because they help you unlock different car bodies and engines.
Now, some of these research development cards can give you two research points. They have either two car bodies, two engines, or one car body and one engine on them. Pretty cool, right?
But wait, there’s more! Some cards can give you a car body or an engine right away from the supply. It’s just like taking the respective action. You can spot these cards by looking at the icons at the bottom of the card. They’re really handy!
Your total number of research points determines which car bodies and engines you can choose. At the beginning of the game, each player starts with one research point in both categories from their respective start tile. So you’re all set from the get-go!
When I’m playing this game, I have to make sure that I activate a development whenever I can. To activate a development, I take a worker from the canteen and place it on a research card. But here’s the catch – if I don’t have a worker in my canteen, the card stays inactive until I put a worker on it.
Now, the next time I get a worker from my supply, I have to use him right away to activate the inactive development. This is when I get the benefit that comes with that development.
Remember: The start tile is active even without a worker, so I don’t need to put one there.
Quick Actions
You know those moments when you just want to do something and see the results right away? That’s what these cards are all about! Instant actions are quick and direct. As soon as you play one, it’s instantly carried out, no waiting around. Once the action is complete, the card gets tossed into the discard pile.
These cards are like little bursts of energy, giving you an immediate boost. They’re like a spark that ignites a fire. You play them, and boom – things happen! It’s quite an exciting feeling, to be honest.
When I come across one of these cards, I feel a rush of anticipation. It’s like holding a secret power in my hands. And the best part is, they’re so easy to understand and use. There’s no complicated strategy involved, no overthinking. Just pick the right moment, play the card, and voila! It’s like magic.
So, if you’re looking for a quick and powerful move, instant actions are your best bet. They’re the perfect solution when you need a swift response or a sudden change of direction. With these cards, you can shake things up and catch your opponents off guard. It’s a delightful way to keep the game exciting and unpredictable.
So go ahead and embrace the power of instant actions. Add a little zest to your gameplay. Trust me, once you experience the thrill of playing one of these cards, your gaming world will never be the same.
Just remember, though. Instant actions can be a double-edged sword. They can be a game-changer, but they can also backfire if not used wisely. So, tread carefully and choose your moment wisely. But don’t worry, with a bit of practice and intuition, you’ll master the art of instant actions in no time. Happy gaming!

Get Three Workers
I take up to three of my workers from the supply and put them in my canteen. If I’ve already taken all workers from the supply, I can’t do this action.

Just One Car Body & One Engine
When I play this game, I get one car body and one engine based on the number of research points I have in these categories.
If the research card lets me choose a car body and/or engine, I can add more research points right away if I have any active.
Start Tiles That Stand Out
Grand Prix with a Twist: Starting in Style!
Picture this: You’re at the starting line of a thrilling Grand Prix race. The engines are revving, the crowd is buzzing with anticipation, and you can feel the adrenaline coursing through your veins. But wait, what’s this? Instead of starting in the pit like everyone else, I get to place my car directly on space 2 of the Grand Prix track – how cool is that?
Yep, you heard me right – there’s a twist in this Grand Prix. Instead of the usual routine, we get to unleash our racing prowess right from the start tiles. It’s like getting a head start, a little boost that sets the stage for an epic race.

The Super Speed Car – Engine 2 (Get Ready to Race!)
Hey there! I’ve got an exciting proposition for you. Let’s talk about the “Engine 2” in the Grand-prix Car game. Here’s the deal: you grab an “engine 2” from the supply and stack it on top of the “engine 1”.
Now, pay close attention because this rule applies to one of the start tiles only. Keep this in mind: even with the extra engine, you’re still rocking just one research point in the engine category. Got it? Great!
The Amazing Engineers
Now, let’s meet the incredible engineers. These geniuses bring something special to the table. When you get an engineer card, proudly place it in front of you. And guess what? You get to keep it until the game comes to an end. How cool is that?
Oh, and here’s a little tip: feel free to use as many engineers as you want during your turn. However, you can only place one engineer token per turn. Keep the engine running, my friend!
Adam Opel: Hey there! Let me tell you about a cool trick I discovered in the game. So, when you sell a car to a buyer who really cares about the price, you actually get triple the amount you would normally get! Isn’t that awesome? It’s like a secret way to make more money selling cars. All you have to do is take some extra price markers from the supply, and you’re good to go.

August Horch: When I play this game, I have the option to enhance my cars by adding extra engine power. I have two engineer markers, one gives me +1 engine and the other gives me +2 engine. So, when I move one of my cars to the market, I can choose to attach one of these markers to increase the engine value. This boost will come into play during the next scoring phase. It’s like giving my cars a turbocharge!
Note: It’s pretty cool because I can even increase the engine value to more than 7 using these markers. But, I can only put one marker on each car – that’s the rule.

Carl Benz: Hey there! I’ve got some exciting news for you. You know how important it is to have the right people on your team when it comes to scoring points. Well, let me introduce you to the Engineer Marker called the “5th Buyer”. It’s a special token that you receive as a player. But here’s the cool part – at the start of scoring, you have the option to swap this marker for another buyer, making it your fifth buyer! Just imagine the possibilities!
Note: Oh, and here’s something interesting. If you decide to go with Benz, he might just earn you the Buyer award tile. Trust me, it’s worth checking out in section 6.0!

In the words of Ettore Bugatti: When you add a new engine to your Grand-Prix car, you can jump straight into the race track.
Keep in mind: The new engine you install must be better than the one before. And don’t forget to choose the best engine based on your research points.

Ferdinand Porsche: When you pick the Grand Prix option, you get to move your car one extra space on the race track.
Note: This rule also applies to the immediate effect of a research card and the bonus from Ettore Bugatti.

Gottlieb Daimler: I give you two engineer markers: “+2 buyer” and “+4 buyer.” You can use only one of these markers during your turn, placing it on any active buyer. But know that each buyer can only receive one Daimler- marker, not both. If you use this marker, it will increase your points for the sold car by either +2 or +4.
Note: If the buyer you choose has a preference for “price,” the bonus will not be doubled (or tripled with Opel).
Nikolaus August Otto: I grab two of my workers from the supply and plop them down in my canteen. Then I get right back to work and do some more research. If I don’t have any more workers in the supply, I can’t do this part of the action.
Rudolf Diesel: When I play the game, I get to use two engineer markers called “change”. If I decide to get rid of one of these markers during my turn, I have the power to switch one “category” of one of my cars at the market. I can choose to change the car body, the engine, the number of workers, or even the price!
Note: To make the switch, all I need to do is take a car body, engine, or worker(s) from either my workshop or canteen. If I want to change the price, I just need to replace the price marker on the car with a colored price marker that’s still available next to the market.

Wilhelm Maybach: Hey there! I’ve got something special for you. As you already know, these engineer markers called “+1 car body” and “+2 car body” can make a big difference in the game. When you’re moving a car to the market, you can use one of these markers to boost the value of your car body during the next scoring. Cool, right?
Note: Here’s a little tip for you. You can use these markers to increase the car body value to more than 7. Just remember, you can only use one marker on a car. So choose wisely!
