So, you know those islands in the game that you can upgrade? Well, each one has something unique to offer when it comes to the Upgrade phase.

Cannon Island

In the game of Treasure Island, I have the ability to upgrade the ship’s Cannon to any level that I want, as long as I have enough resources. It’s like customizing the power of my weapon to fit my strategy. It feels empowering to be able to make this choice, putting the control in my hands.

Exploring the Island

Hey there, matey! Avast ye, it be time to talk about hidden treasures and ship upgrades on the high seas. Arrrr!

Ye can bury treasures from the ship’s hold and earn 1 point of fame for each one ye bury. And if ye be feeling generous with yer gold, ye can even bury that too! For every 3 pieces of gold ye bury, ye earn 1 point of fame. Shiver me timbers!

Now listen closely, me hearties. Ye have the option to upgrade a single section of yer ship, but only one, mind ye. And it won’t come cheap! Ye’ll have to pay double the regular upgrade cost. For example, if ye be wantin’ to upgrade yer sails from a speed level of 5 to 6 on Treasure Island, ye’ll have to cough up 2 pieces of gold. A fair warning: ye won’t be able to upgrade any other section of yer ship this turn, nor upgrade yer sails any higher.

Here be the Deal with Upgrading

When ye be lookin’ to upgrade, the small white number ye see next to the desired level of upgrade be tellin’ ye the cost in gold. Simple as that!

If ye be brave enough to upgrade the same section by multiple levels all at once, ye’ll have to pay the total cost of each individual upgrade. It ain’t no easy feat, I’ll tell ye that much!

If you want to make your boat go faster, you can upgrade your sails. It costs 3 gold to go from a speed level of 5 to 7. Upgrading your ship is optional, except if your ship is damaged and you’re in Pirate’s Cove (see Pirate’s Cove on the next page). Whether or not you upgrade your ship and how much you spend on it is totally up to you.

Sail Island

Hey there! Ready to set sail and upgrade your ship’s sail? Well, you’ve come to the right place! I’m here to tell you all about the importance of upgrading your ship’s sail and how you can do it.

Welcome to Crew Island

When upgrading my ship’s Crew, I can choose to level up as many times as I want and can afford. If I have a Mastercraft card in my hand, I can play it if I want to.

Welcome to Pirate’s Cove

Here at Pirate’s Cove, I have two options: collect 1 Tavern card and 2 gold, or collect 2 Tavern cards. If my ship got damaged during a battle, I need to repair it by paying 2 gold for each damaged section. I move the strength marker back to the second level of the corresponding section.

If multiple sections of my ship got damaged at the same time because of a Six-Gun salute or a Powder keg explosion, I have to repair all of them at once.

If I can’t afford to repair the damaged sections, I can still repair them all, but I won’t receive any Tavern cards or gold from my visit to Pirate’s Cove.

Welcome to Tavern Island

When you visit Tavern Island, you have the option to purchase up to 3 Tavern cards, and each card will cost you 2 gold. If you have a Mastercraft card in your hand, you can also choose to play it during your visit.

Now let’s talk about Hull Island.

Hey there! Let me tell you about this cool thing called ship hull upgrades. So, here’s the deal – you can upgrade the hull of your ship to any level you want, as long as you have enough resources. It’s really up to you how far you want to take it!

And guess what? You can also play a special card called a Mastercraft card from your hand if you feel like it. It’s totally optional, but it can be a lot of fun!

So go ahead and give your ship’s hull a boost and play around with those Mastercraft cards. The sky’s the limit!
