Discover the Various Roles in One Night Ultimate Werewolf
Have you ever wondered about the thrilling roles available in the game of One Night Ultimate Werewolf? Well, look no further! Today, I will walk you through some of the intriguing characters you can embody in this exciting game.
Let’s start with the Seer. This role grants me the power to see the true identity of one player each night. By tapping into my mysterious abilities, I can gather valuable information to help uncover the deceitful werewolves among us.
Next up is the Robber. As the Robber, I have the ability to steal someone else’s role and take it as my own. This unique power allows me to confuse the other players and potentially shift the balance of power.
Another enticing role is that of the Troublemaker. With this role, I can switch the cards of two other players, introducing chaos and uncertainty into the game. It’s a thrill to watch as the roles become entangled, and the truth becomes harder to discern.
Now let me tell you about the Insomniac. As the night progresses, I find myself waking up and sneakily checking my card to see if it has changed. The suspense is exhilarating as I attempt to piece together the events that unfolded while I slept.
Finally, we have the Tanner. This intriguing character has a unique win condition. The Tanner, driven by a desire to be eliminated from the game, must convince others that they are the werewolf. It’s a delicate balance, as the Tanner must avoid arousing suspicion from the actual werewolves while trying to ensure their own elimination.
As I understand it, these are just a few of the exciting roles available in One Night Ultimate Werewolf. The game offers a multitude of possibilities, allowing you to immerse yourself in a world of deception, strategy, and deduction. So gather your friends, choose your roles, and let the games begin!
In One Night Ultimate Werewolf, each of us gets to be a character: a Villager, a Werewolf, or something special. Our mission is to uncover the identity of the Werewolves and eliminate at least one of them to win. But be careful, because you might become a Werewolf yourself!
Now, let’s talk about the different roles you can play in One Night Ultimate Werewolf. If you want to spice up the game, you can swap out one card for another. You can mix and match different roles, but it’s best not to introduce more than one or two new roles at a time. This way, everyone can easily understand them.
No matter which roles you choose, always make sure to have three extra cards in addition to the number of players. Before each round, place a token on the table representing each role card. This will help us keep track of which roles are in play.
When it comes to playing One Night, the different roles have a big impact on how the game unfolds. Some roles, like the Seer or Mason, help the village team, while others, like the Minion, help the werewolf team. Don’t worry if it seems like one team is winning all the time; the game tends to change over multiple rounds.
Get creative with your role choices! Try having just one Werewolf or randomly dealing out all the cards to players. You can even have a village with no Villager cards, so everyone has a special role.
The free app makes it easy to use the different roles. You can select which roles are in the game and the app will read them in the right order. It even takes care of special situations, like when there’s a Doppelganger and Minion in the game.
Roles That Go Bump in the Night
Hey there! Ever wonder which roles come alive when the sun goes down? Well, wonder no more! Below, you’ll find a lineup of roles that wake up at night, each with a handy summary chart on the back page for reference. And guess what? I’ve even included some sample scripts for the Announcer to use. How cool is that?
Doppelganger
The Doppelganger card is a bit tricky because she becomes whichever card she sees. If you haven’t tried out the other roles yet, don’t worry about this part for now. It’ll make more sense later.
The Doppelganger wakes up before the other roles in the One Night game.
During the night, the Doppelganger looks at another player’s card, but she doesn’t switch cards. Instead, she does something based on what she sees:
If she sees a Villager, Tanner, or Hunter: she becomes that role and doesn’t do anything else at night.
If she sees a Werewolf or Mason: she joins the other Werewolves or Masons when they wake up. She’s on the Werewolf team if she sees a Werewolf, and on the village team if she sees a Mason.
Seer, Robber, Troublemaker, Drunk: When I am assigned any of these roles, I immediately perform the respective action. I won’t wake up again with my original role when it is called.
Minion: At the end of the Doppelganger phase, the Announcer instructs the Doppelganger to close her eyes unless she has become the Minion. Additionally, werewolves are informed to put their thumbs up. As the Minion, I become a part of the werewolf team.
Insomniac: Once the Insomniac closes her eyes, the Doppelganger-insomniac is awakened. I am the Doppelganger-insomniac, and I have to check my card to confirm if I am still the Doppelganger or not.
If you get the Doppelganger card at night, you become the role you saw. It’s a little different for the Doppelganger because she has to look for werewolves if she becomes the Minion, and she wakes up later if the Insomniac is in the game. If there’s no Minion, use this script:
“Doppelganger, wake up and check another player’s card. Now you’re that role. If your new role has a night action, do it.”
The Doppelganger opens her eyes and looks at another player’s card. If it’s the Seer, Robber, Troublemaker, or Drunk, she does that action right away.
If it’s a Werewolf or Mason, she waits until those roles are called. If it’s a Villager, Tanner or Hunter, she doesn’t do anything.
“Doppelganger, close your eyes.”
If there’s a Minion playing, follow this script:
“Hey Doppelganger, wake up and check out someone else’s card. Now, you become that role. If your new role can take an action at night, go ahead and do it”.
The Doppelganger opens their eyes and looks at the card of another player. If it’s the Seer, Robber, Troublemaker, or Drunk, they immediately do that action.
If the viewed card is a werewolf or Mason, the Doppelganger wakes up when those roles are called. But if it’s a Villager, Tanner, or Hunter, they don’t do anything.
>If you now have the role of Minion, keep your eyes open. Otherwise, close them. Werewolves, show your thumb to the Doppelganger-Minion so they know who you are”.
If the Doppelganger is the Minion, they keep their eyes open. Otherwise, they close them. The werewolves show their thumb to the Doppelganger-Minion.
“Alright, werewolves, put your thumbs down and keep those hairy paws to yourselves. And you, doppelganger, close your peepers.”
Now, if we’ve got an insomniac in the mix, here’s what we’re gonna do:
“Hey, doppelganger! If you happen to have peeped at the insomniac card, go ahead and wake up. Take a gander at your own card while you’re at it.”
The doppelganger blinks open her eyes, checking if her card underwent any magical transformation overnight.
“Alrighty then, doppelganger. Now you can snooze tight.”
Werewolf
When night falls, I, as a werewolf, eagerly open my eyes, scanning the darkness for other members of my supernatural pack. If no one else dares to peek, then I realize that my fellow werewolves must still be hiding among the unsuspecting villagers.
Being a werewolf means being part of a tight-knit team, where loyalty and unity are paramount.
“Awaken, my fellow werewolves,” we growl with an insidious delight. The darkness is our ally, and we search for any signs of our own kind.
Our keen senses guide us as we silently observe, noticing anyone else who dares to reveal their eyes, though it’s possible that we may stand alone.
“Close your eyes,” we eventually whisper, knowing that secrecy is our greatest weapon.
A Lone Wolf Option: In the rare instance when only one werewolf exists, a unique opportunity awaits. This lone wolf may clandestinely inspect one of the untouched center cards, a privilege that grants them an advantageous tool to deceive and mislead the other players.
Minion
As the night falls and the phase of the Werewolf ends, I am awakened from my slumber as the Minion. My task? To identify the Werewolves among us.
During this crucial moment, all the Werewolves raise their thumbs, revealing themselves to me, the Minion. They have no idea who I am. If I happen to die before any of the Werewolves, victory will be theirs.
“Minion, it’s your time to arise. Werewolves, show your thumbs for the Minion to catch a glimpse”.
I open my eyes, scanning the room as the Werewolves extend their thumbs. I analyze every movement, every face, determining who the true culprits are.
“Werewolves, retract your thumbs. Minion, close your eyes,” the voice commands.
Mason
When you play the game of Masons, always include two players who are Masons. The Masons have a special ability – at night, they wake up and search for each other.
If one Mason doesn’t see the other, it means the second Mason card is in the center of the game.
The Masons are part of the village team, so they work together to help the villagers.
“Masons, it’s time to wake up and look for other Masons,” the moderator says.
The Masons open their eyes and scan the room for anyone else who might have their eyes open, although there might not be anyone.
“Masons, it’s time to close your eyes now,” the moderator announces.
Seer
When night falls, I have the power of the Seer. I can choose to investigate one player’s card or study two of the center cards, but I mustn’t disturb them.
In the game, I am on the village team as the Seer.
“Seer, awaken! You now have the ability to peer into another player’s card or select two from the center cards,” I hear the voice commanding me.
With the Seer card in my possession, I open my eyes and cautiously examine either one player’s card or any two from the center.
“Seer, it is time to close your eyes,” the voice tells me.
Robber
Hey there! Let me tell you about the Robber in the game. At night, I get to choose a card from another player and put my Robber card in its place. Then I take a look at my new card. The player who ends up with the Robber card becomes part of the village team. Now, here’s the thing – I join the team of the card I took, but I don’t perform the action of my new role at night.
If I decide not to rob a card from someone else, I’ll just stay as the Robber and remain on the village team.
Now, it’s time for me to wake up. The moderator tells me, “Robber, wake up. You may exchange your card with another player’s card, and then view your new card.” I open my eyes and quietly swap my card with someone else’s while taking a peek at my new card. It’s a sneaky move!
Alright, Robber, time to close your eyes now.
Troublemaker
When night falls, I, the Troublemaker, get to cause some havoc. I have the power to secretly swap the cards of two other players, without even peeking at what cards they have.
Here’s where it gets interesting: the players whose cards I switched become the new holders of those cards. They take on the roles and teams of their new cards, but they won’t find out what those roles are until the game is over.
Just so you know, I’m actually on the village team, even though my ability might seem a little mischievous.
“Troublemaker, it’s time to wake up! You have the chance to mix things up by swapping cards between two players,” says the game moderator.
As the Troublemaker, I open my eyes and stealthily switch the cards of two unsuspecting players, without taking a single peek at the cards I’m handling.
“Troublemaker, close your eyes,” commands the moderator, signaling the end of my meddling for the night.
Drunk
I’m so drunk that I can’t even remember my role. When it’s time to wake up at night, they tell me to exchange my Drunk card for any card in the center, but I don’t get to see what it is.
Now I’ve become the new role in front of me, even though I have no idea what that role actually is. And I’m on that team now.
They say, “Hey Drunk, wake up and trade your card with one from the center.”
I open my eyes and swap my card for one of the three center cards, not looking at the new card.
Then they say, “Drunk, close your eyes.”
Oh, and let me introduce you to the Insomniac.
I wake up and check my card (to see if it’s different). I only get to be the Insomniac if the Robber and/or the Troublemaker are playing. Luckily, I’m on the village team.
“Hey, Insomniac, wake up and check your card,” they say.
I open my eyes and take a peek at my card, hoping it’s changed during the night.
“Okay, Insomniac, go back to sleep,” they say.
Now, let’s talk about the roles that don’t wake up at night. Here they are:
Villager
As a regular Villager, I don’t possess any special abilities like the other roles. But don’t mistake me for a werewolf! Sometimes, players may falsely claim to be a Villager to throw others off.
I belong to the village team, and my job is to work together with others to figure out who the werewolves are.
Tanner
I hate my job so much that I just want to disappear. Only when I disappear, can I win. But it’s not that simple. If I vanish and none of the Werewolves perish, they won’t get a victory. It’s a twisted game we play.
If I manage to vanish and take down a Werewolf with me, then the team I’m aligned with, the villagers, will also taste victory. Strange, right? I’m technically part of the village, even though I’m not really on their side. So if I manage to take myself out while all the werewolves are safe and sound in the center, it’s game over for the good guys.
I don’t belong to the werewolf or villager team. I’m just an outsider, looking for my own path in this supernatural struggle.
The Hunter
Did you know that if the Hunter dies, the person he is targeting also dies? It doesn’t matter how many votes his target gets – if the Hunter goes down, so does the person he’s pointing at. It’s a pretty intense situation, isn’t it? And guess what, the Hunter is actually on the same team as the village. It’s like a double-edged sword, really.
