Nemesis Actions

Hey there! Let’s talk about Nemesis Actions, fancy-sounding words that basically mean “actions that come back to haunt you.” It might sound a bit confusing at first, but bear with me, I’ll walk you through it!

So, here’s the deal: Nemesis Actions are those little decisions we make that can have big consequences. They’re like boomerangs. You throw them out into the world, and before you know it, they come flying right back at you.

Now, you might be wondering, “What kind of actions are we talking about here?” Well, it could be anything, really. It could be something as simple as not studying for a test and then struggling to understand the material. Or maybe it’s skipping out on your chores and facing your mom’s wrath later.

The thing about Nemesis Actions is that they’re sneaky. They might seem harmless in the moment, but they have a way of catching up to you. So it’s important to think before you act and consider the potential consequences. Believe me, it’s better to deal with a little discomfort now than to face the consequences later.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “But why should I even care about this?” Well, my friend, learning to recognize and avoid Nemesis Actions is a valuable skill. It helps us make better decisions and avoid unnecessary trouble.

So next time you find yourself faced with a choice, take a moment to think about the potential outcomes. Ask yourself if your actions could come back to haunt you. By doing this, you’ll be better equipped to make smart choices and set yourself up for success.

Remember, it’s all about being mindful and thinking ahead. Don’t let those Nemesis Actions sneak up on you. Take control of your decisions, and you’ll be on the path to greatness!

When I’m playing the game, there are different Actions I can take. Let me break them down for you:

  1. Basic Actions: These are the standard actions available to all players.
  2. Actions from Action cards: These are special actions that can be taken by using Action cards.
  3. Actions from Item cards: These actions are specific to Item cards.
  4. Actions from Room tiles: These actions are unique to Room tiles.

Action Icons

Action Cost

Each Action has an icon that shows its Cost. The number on the icon tells you how much it will cost to perform that Action. To pay the Cost, you have to get rid of the same number of Action cards from your hand. The cards you discard will go face up in the discard pile.

Important: I want to start by letting you know that even though Contamination cards are found in the Action deck, they are not the same as Action cards. This means you can’t use them to pay for any Action Cost by discarding them from your hand.

Contamination cards have a different purpose. They represent when your Character gets tired and sometimes even something worse happens.

You may be wondering why these cards are separate from Action cards. Well, the reason is that Contamination cards bring an added layer of complexity to the game. They introduce a sense of challenge and uncertainty, making each move you make even more crucial.

So, while you’re playing the game, be aware that Contamination cards are not to be used as Action cards. Instead, they symbolize fatigue and unexpected events that can hinder your progress.

As you make your strategic decisions and plan your moves, keep in mind that Contamination cards are there to challenge you, test your skills, and add excitement to the game. Embrace this unique aspect and let it enhance your gaming experience.

Combat and Non-Combat Abilities

There are certain Actions and Items that can only be used in specific situations:

1. In Combat Only: These Actions and Items can only be used during a battle. These abilities are designed to give you an advantage over your opponents or to help you survive in the heat of the fight. For example, you might have a special attack that deals extra damage to enemies or a healing potion that restores your health during combat.

2. Out of Combat Only: On the other hand, there are Actions and Items that can only be used when you’re not in a battle. These abilities are meant to aid you outside of combat, whether it’s exploring the world, solving puzzles, or interacting with other characters. They may allow you to unlock doors, manipulate objects, or gather information about your surroundings.

It’s important to pay attention to the specific requirements and limitations of each Action or Item. Some abilities may have a cooldown period, meaning you can only use them once every few minutes. Others may have a limited number of uses before they need to be recharged or repurchased.

Remember, understanding the timing and context in which each ability can be used is crucial to your success in the game. By strategically using your Combat and Non-Combat abilities, you can navigate through various challenges and overcome obstacles that stand in your way.

Combat Use Only – You can only use this ability during a battle. You are considered to be in a battle if there is an intruder in your room. Please note that eggs are not considered intruders.

Only Out of Combat – I can only do this Action when I’m not in a fight.

If an Action doesn’t have any of those symbols, that means I can do it both during a fight and when I’m not in one.

1. The Basics

Each of us has the same basic set of Actions. I can always do these Actions, as long as I meet the requirements.

Here are the details of each Action:
