Meet Klaw
When it comes to the world of villains, there’s one name that stands above the rest – Klaw. This bad guy comes in not one, not two, but three forms for you to challenge. If you’re looking for a real test, try expert mode and face off against Klaw III.
Klaw’s schemes are quite diabolical. You’ll encounter the Underground Distribution and Secret Rendezvous schemes, which will put your skills to the test.
But Klaw doesn’t work alone. He has his own encounter set, filled with dangerous cards like Armored Guard, Defense Network, and Sonic Converter. And watch out for Klaw’s Vengeance, a card that can really pack a punch.
As if that’s not enough, you’ll also face the standard encounter set, featuring cards like Advance, Assault, Caught Off Guard, and Shadow of the Past. These cards will keep you on your toes, so be ready for anything.
And if you’re up for an extra challenge, you can add the Masters of Evil encounter set to the mix. This modular set includes cards like Masters of Mayhem, Melter, Radioactive Man, The Masters of Evil, Tiger Shark, and Whirlwind. This set will really put your hero skills to the test.
But remember, you have the power to customize your scenario. You can remove the Masters of Evil set from this scenario or add it to other scenarios using the scenario customization rules. It’s all up to you.
Daring in Expert Mode
In case you’re an experienced player looking for a more demanding gaming experience, the “Expert Mode” is perfect for you. It’s designed to provide a greater challenge by adding extra difficulty to the game. To play in this mode, you simply need to follow a few steps.
First, choose the scenario you want to play and refer to the expert mode villain stages listed for that specific scenario. These stages are tailored to provide a more intense and challenging encounter.
Next, you need to add the expert encounter set to the scenario. This set consists of three cards: Exhaustion, Masterplan, and Under Fire. These cards will further raise the stakes and test your skills to the limit.
Let’s take a look at the Ultron scenario to better understand how the expert mode works. In the villain deck, you’ll find Ultron (I) and Ultron (II). However, in expert mode, you will replace Ultron (I) with a more formidable version called Ultron (III). This upgrade will make your battle against Ultron even more challenging.
In addition to the modified villain deck, you’ll also be dealing with a different main scheme deck. The expert mode main scheme deck includes The Crimson Cowl, Assault on NORAD, and Countdown to Oblivion. These schemes will present you with additional obstacles and require strategic thinking to overcome.
Moreover, the Ultron encounter set for expert mode introduces new and tougher cards to the mix. These include Advanced Ultron Drones, Android Efficiency, Drone Factory, Invasive AI, Program Transmitter, Rage of Ultron, Repair Sequence, Swarm Attack, Ultron Drones, Ultron’s Imperative, and Upgraded Drones. Be prepared to face these formidable adversaries during your quest.
Finally, as you progress through the scenario, you’ll also encounter the standard encounter set. This set includes cards such as Advance, Assault, Caught Off Guard, Gang-Up, and Shadow of the Past. These cards will add an extra layer of challenge to your gameplay.
In conclusion, the expert mode is tailored for experienced players who crave a greater challenge. By following the steps outlined above, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in a more intense and thrilling gameplay experience. Can you rise to the occasion and outsmart the formidable adversaries that await you? The choice is yours.

Scenario Customization Rules
Hey there! So, when you’re playing a scenario for the first few times, it’s recommended that you stick to the basic decklist. Easy peasy!
But here’s the fun part: to keep things exciting for future replays, we’ve come up with modular encounter sets. These sets let you mix things up by adding or removing different encounters from a scenario. Pretty cool, huh?
Now, each modular set is rated by difficulty. This rating gives you a heads up on how it might affect the challenge level of a scenario. The higher the rating, the tougher it’ll be.
If you want to customize your encounter set, here’s what you do. First, remove the modular set from the list above. Got it? Good. Then, pick another modular set from the options available and replace it. That way, you’ll have a fresh and unique experience each time you play. You can even try using more than one set for a real wild ride, but remember, too many sets might make things a bit too crazy. It’s all about finding that perfect balance!
So, when you’re playing with a modular set, there are a couple of options. You can pick the set you want to play against, or you can make things more unpredictable by selecting a random set from all the available options and shuffling it into the encounter deck without looking at it.
Now, besides the modular sets that are already mentioned for each scenario, there are actually two more sets that come with this product. Let me tell you about them.
The Legions of Hydra encounter set (modular, difficulty 4): It includes three Hydra Soldiers, two Legions of Hydra, and Madame Hydra.
The Doomsday Chair encounter set (modular, difficulty 5): This set features three Biomechanical Upgrades, MODOK, and The Doomsday Chair itself.
