Let me explain to you the advantages that each race has. When you choose a Race banner, you receive a certain number of matching Race tokens. Take a look at the list below to see what each race can offer you!
Amazons
Hey there! Just a heads up, you can only use four of your Amazon tokens (the ones with a +4 on the banner) for conquest, not for defense. Cool, let’s get started!
When we begin, you’ll have 10 Amazon tokens for your first turn.
After each round of moving your troops, you’ll need to remove four tokens from the map. But don’t worry, make sure you keep at least one Amazon token in each of your regions, if you can. And guess what? You get to take those four tokens back in your hand! You can redeploy them on the map when you’re ready to start your next turn with fresh troops.
Dwarves
Did you know that each of the occupied mine regions will earn you an extra Victory coin at the end of your turn? It’s true!
And guess what? This power doesn’t go away even when the Dwarves are In Decline.
Elves
When the enemy captures one of your territories, don’t worry! You get to keep all your Elf tokens and redeploy them at the end of the current player’s turn. Instead of discarding one Elf token back into the storage tray, you can hold onto it for future use.
Ghouls
When I go into Decline, my Ghoul tokens stay on the map. It’s pretty cool to see them lurking around!
While in Decline, my Ghouls can keep conquering new Regions in the next turns. They act just like they’re still active on the board, which is awesome. I should mention that I can only make these conquests at the beginning of my turn, before I make any conquests with my active race.
Believe it or not, I can even attack my own active race with my In Decline Ghouls. That’s a pretty spooky strategy, don’t you think?
Giants
Your Giants have the incredible ability to conquer neighboring regions when they’re in a Mountain Region. It’s like they have a secret advantage that allows them to conquer for less! Instead of needing the usual number of Giant tokens, you only need one less. Amazing, right? But remember, you still need at least one Giant token to make it happen. Just think of all the possibilities this gives you on the game board. It’s a special power that sets your Giants apart from the rest. Embrace it and conquer with confidence!
Now, let’s talk about Halflings. These small but mighty creatures have their own unique traits. They are nimble and quick, which makes them excellent explorers. As a Halfling player, you’ll have the opportunity to explore deeper into the regions surrounding your territories. This can be a game-changer, allowing you to control more territory and expand your influence. Keep in mind that exploration comes with its own risks and rewards, so be strategic in your decisions. With the Halflings, you have the chance to carve out your own path and leave your mark on the world.
So, whether you’re commanding the Giants or leading the Halflings, adapt your strategy and make the most of your special powers. The world of tabletop gaming is waiting for you to leave your mark. Get ready to conquer, explore, and strategize like never before. It’s time to show everyone what you’re made of!
When I play the game, I have a unique advantage as a Halfling. My tokens can enter the map from any Region, not just the border ones. This gives me a lot of flexibility and options for my strategy.
Another special ability I have is the ability to place a Hole-in-the-Ground in the first two Regions I conquer. This makes those regions immune to enemy conquests, as well as racial and special powers. It’s like a protective shield that keeps my territories safe.
However, there are limitations to this ability. If my Halflings go into Decline or if I choose to abandon a region, I have to remove my Holes-in-the-Ground. It’s a tough decision to make, but sometimes it’s necessary for the greater good.
Humans
When you have Farmland regions that are occupied, you gain an extra Victory coin at the end of your turn. It’s a simple yet rewarding benefit, giving you an edge in the game.
Let’s Talk Orcs
If you manage to conquer any regions with your Orcs during this turn, each of those regions will be worth an additional Victory coin when your turn ends.
The Sneaky Ratmen
Hey there! I have some really cool news for you – you don’t need to worry about any Race benefits because you already have enough tokens! Isn’t that awesome?
Skeletons
When I’m redeploying my troops, it’s important to remember to take into account the number of regions I conquered during my turn. For every two non-empty regions I conquered, I can take one new Skeleton token from the storage tray and add it to the troops I’m redeploying at the end of my turn.
However, if there are no more tokens in the storage tray, I won’t receive any additional tokens.
The Power of Sorcerers
Hey there! Let me tell you about a cool ability my Sorcerers have that can give me an advantage in the game. It’s called “Conquer a Region”, and I can use it once per turn on each of my opponents.
Here’s how it works: I can replace one of my opponent’s active tokens in a Region with one of my own tokens from the storage tray. But there are a couple of conditions. First, the token I replace must be the only race token in its Region. And second, that Region must be adjacent to another Region controlled by me.
Once I’ve made the swap, I put the opponent’s token back in the storage tray, even if it’s one of those sneaky Elves!
Tritons
Hey there! Did you know that your Tritons are pretty powerful when it comes to conquering coastal regions near the sea or a lake? Yep, they definitely have an advantage! Instead of using the usual number of Triton tokens, you can conquer these regions with one token less. Cool, huh?
But wait, don’t forget that you still need at least one Triton token to make it happen. So, even though you get a discount, you can’t conquer these regions for free!
Trolls
If you want to strengthen your defenses in each region, consider placing a Troll’s Lair there. This will give you a boost of 1 in defense, and the lair will remain even when your Trolls go into Decline. It’s like having an extra layer of protection!
However, keep in mind that you’ll need to remove the Troll’s Lair if you abandon the region or if an enemy manages to conquer it. It’s a risky move, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices to stay ahead.
Wizards
When your Wizards are present in each Magic region, you earn an extra Victory coin at the end of your turn. It’s a small but rewarding perk that can help you gain an advantage over your opponents.
The Power of the Blank Race
Hey there! Have you ever thought about creating your own race? Well, guess what? You totally can! In fact, there’s even a special blank Race banner just waiting for you to fill it with your amazing ideas.
