  2. Next, each of us will need a Pencil and a sheet from the Scoring Pad. Make sure you have the side with Isla Petit facing up.
  3. Now, it’s time to choose a Mayor. This person will be in charge of drawing and revealing the terrain cards.
  4. The Mayor should shuffle the Terrain Cards and create a deck in front of them, with the terrain sides facing down.

I’m going to walk you through the steps of setting up the game. First, the Mayor shuffles the Set-up Cards and draws a card. This card is placed face-up in the middle of the table. The Mayor then announces each letter on the card, starting with the top letter and going clockwise. As they announce each letter, you need to write it in one of the circles next to the villages.

When we finish playing, the turn is complete. Then, we begin the next turn by doing steps 1 and 2 again. During each turn, we hide the cards from the previous turns. We keep going like this until there is only one card left in the deck, which we call the Round End.

Uncommon Situation: If there are no more connections on your map that match the terrains on the current card, you don’t get to draw a trail.
