Welcome to The Logo Board Game!
Hey there! In this game, you can play as a team or go it alone. If you have a mix of younger and older players, the Team Rules are perfect because they allow everyone to contribute their knowledge.
If you’re feeling extra competitive, the Individual Rules will give you the intense gameplay you crave.
Get ready to play with these components:
- A Logo Playing Board
- 400 Question Cards
- 6 Playing Pieces
- A Rulebook
Let’s set up the game:
First things first, unfold the board and place it on the table. Each player or team should pick a playing piece and put it on the START space.
Next, unwrap the Question Cards and put them in the tray. Make sure the picture side or the theme side is facing up and the curved cut-out is at the end.
Here come the questions:
Each card has four questions on the front. Get ready to put your knowledge to the test!
Let’s talk about the first question. It’s right next to the purple square. After that, there’s the green, yellow, and red squares.
Now, there are three types of Question Cards:
- Picture Cards – these have a picture that the questions are about.
- Pot Luck Cards – these have general knowledge logo questions.
- Common Theme Cards – these have answers that all relate to a common theme.
The Game Board
The game board is a path that leads from the outer start space to the winning zone in the middle of the board.
The path is made up of spaces that have the same color as the question cards. The first four spaces on the board follow the order of the colors on the card: purple, green, yellow, and red.
After the first four spaces, the order of the color spaces on the board becomes random. This means that a player or team might answer just one question correctly and still end up ahead of opponents who answer two or three questions correctly!
Team Rules
The team with the youngest player gets to play first. The oldest player from the other team becomes the Question Master (QM) for the first turn.
Throughout the game, members of the non-playing team take turns being the QM.
Answering Correctly
When I’m the Question Master, I take the first card from the ‘curved’ end of the tray and ask the first (purple) question to the playing team. If the question card is a Picture Card or Theme Card, I show the back of the card (the picture side) to the playing team – while keeping the answers hidden from my own team.
If you answer correctly, you’ll immediately move your playing piece to the first PURPLE space on the board.
I’ll then ask you the remaining questions on the card. Every time you answer a question correctly, you’ll move your playing piece forward to the next space that matches the color of that question.
Once you’ve answered the fourth (RED) question correctly and moved your playing piece onto the next RED space on the board, your turn is over, and I’ll put the card into the other end of the tray.
Answering Incorrectly
So here’s how it works: if my team gets a question wrong, I have to ask the same question to my teammates.
If they get it right, we win a bonus move to the next part of the board that matches the color of the question.
If we don’t answer the question correctly, the answer is revealed to both teams.
Then, I ask the next question on the card to my team and we keep playing like this until we’ve gone through all the questions on the card. That’s the end of our turn, and then the teams switch roles for the next turn.
Winning Zone
If my team answers a question correctly when we’re near the Winning Zone and there are no spaces left on the path that matches our color, we move our playing piece onto the Winning Zone. And once we’re there, we stay there for the rest of the game.
When it’s your turn and there are still unanswered questions on the current card, my team keeps going.
The Game Ends
If my team is the first to reach the Winning Zone, we have to get two questions right in a row or answer a red question correctly to win.
For example, if we enter the Winning Zone after answering a green question, we have to answer the remaining yellow and red questions correctly to win. But if we enter the Winning Zone after answering a yellow question, we only need to answer the remaining red question correctly to win.
If both teams are in the Winning Zone and my team gets a question wrong, the Quiz Master asks that question to my team instead. If we answer it correctly, then we (not the other team) get asked the next question.
Alright, here’s a fun game for you! If you can answer two questions in a row correctly, congratulations, you WIN! But if you don’t get the second question right, don’t worry, I’ll tell both teams the answer.
Now, it’s time for the next question for your team to answer. Keep playing until one team gets two questions in a row right or someone answers a red question correctly to win.
II. How to Play
Okay, here’s the deal. The oldest player gets to be the Question Master in the first round. Pretty cool, huh?
Answering the Questions
So, the Question Master grabs a card from the ‘curved’ end of the tray. Then, they ask the first question (the purple one) to the player on their left. If the card has a Picture Card, the Question Master shows the player the picture while reading the questions.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting. If the player gets the answer right, they can move their playing piece to the first purple space on the board. And that’s not all! The Question Master keeps asking the player the rest of the questions on the card.
And get this, every time the player answers a question correctly, they move forward to the next space with the same color as that question. Pretty neat, huh? It’s like a mini adventure game!
When I answer the fourth (red) question correctly and move my playing piece onto the next RED space on the board, my turn is over, and the card goes into the other end of the tray.
Now it’s your turn to be the Question Master (QM), and you’ll ask questions to the player on your left.
Answering Incorrectly
If you get an answer wrong, your turn ends.
Then, I will ask the SAME question to the next player on the left. If they answer correctly, they move their playing piece forward to the next space that matches the color of the question. For example, if it’s the green question, they move their piece forward to the next GREEN space.
I will keep asking questions from the card to this player until they either answer all the remaining questions correctly or get an answer wrong. If they get an answer wrong, I will ask that question to the next player on the left, and so on.
If none of us can answer a question correctly, I’ll give everyone the answer and then ask the next question to the person on my left.
If nobody can answer the final (red) question on the card correctly, I’ll give the answer to everyone and put the card back in the tray. That turn is over, and the next player to my left becomes the next question master.
Winning Zone
If you get a question right and we run out of spaces on the path that match the color of the question, move your game piece onto the Winning Zone. It will stay there for the rest of the game.
If there are any remaining questions on the current card after entering the Winning Zone, it’s still your turn.
End of the Game
In the game, once I reach the Winning Zone, I have to answer either two consecutive questions or a red question correctly to win. Let me give you an example to make it clearer. Suppose I enter the Winning Zone after answering a green question. In that case, I need to answer the remaining yellow and red questions correctly to win. But, if I enter the Winning Zone after answering a yellow question, then I only have to answer the remaining red question correctly to win.
Now, let’s say I’m in the Winning Zone and I get a question wrong. The Quiz Master (QM) will pass the question to the next player on my left, and the game will continue as usual. It doesn’t matter if any other player is in or out of the Winning Zone.
