Text Twist: How to Play and Win!

Hey there! Are you ready to play the exciting word puzzle game, Text Twist? I’m here to guide you through the rules and help you become a Text Twist master! In this game, you’ll be given a set of jumbled letters, and your goal is to create as many words as possible using those letters.

The rules are simple. You have a limited amount of time to unscramble the letters and form words. The letters can be rearranged in any order to create different words. Remember, all the words you make must be real, valid words found in the English language. Spelling counts!

Here’s how it works. When you start a round, you’ll see a screen with a jumble of letters. Your job is to type out words using those letters. As you type, the game will check if your word is correct and valid. If it is, you’ll earn points and the word will be added to your list.

But wait, there’s more! The longer the word, the more points you’ll score. Plus, finding all the possible words in a round will earn you extra bonus points. So, it pays to be thorough and think outside the box!

As you progress through the levels, the puzzles will get trickier and more challenging. But don’t worry, practice makes perfect! The more you play, the better you’ll get at unscrambling those letters and finding hidden words.

Setting Up

You can play TextTwist alone or with others. The game is designed for up to 4 players, but if you have more players, just grab some paper and writing utensils.

Each card has 3 TextTwist challenges on each side. Before starting the game, pick a number from 1-3. This will be the challenge number you use for all 5 cards in that game. For example, if you choose “2,” you’ll play the second TextTwist challenge on each card.

Choose one player to be the reader. This player will read the challenges and solutions and keep track of the time using the sand timer.

Give each player an answer board and a marker.

Playing the Game

1. First, I want you to listen carefully as I read the letters on the card out loud for this round. Once I’m done, all of you should write down those letters at the top of your answer boards.

First, I read the number of 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7-letter words that can be made from the given letters. You should write down your answers on your answer boards.

Then, on the “Go” command, I flip the 2-minute sand timer, and you have to write down as many words as you can using the letters provided.

When the 2-minute timer is up, I look up the card and challenge number in THIS Solution Booklet and read aloud the solutions for 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7-letter words.

You add your scores for Round 1 and record them on the “scoreboard” space.

End of the Game

The player with the highest score after 5 Rounds wins the game!
