Okay, so here’s how we’ll get started. The player who was at a museum most recently gets to go first, and then the game keeps going to the left. Every turn, we’ll follow these steps:

1. We’ll flip over some cards from the draw pile until we have 3 cards face up in the Landscape.
2. We’ll deal with any Event cards that come up.
3. We’ll handle the Meat-Eater cards.
4. If there are any matching Plant-Eater cards, you can collect them.
5. If you want, you can get rid of sets of Plant-Eaters from your hand and get some Super Tooth tokens.

Just so you know: When we start the game, the first player will always reveal 3 cards. But after that, we might only need to reveal 1 or 2 cards if there are already some from the previous player’s turn.

I’m going to mix everyone’s cards together, and then I’ll give them back out evenly. I’ll start with the player on my left. Once we’re done with this T-Rex card, it’s still my turn to play.

Hot Sun: So here’s the deal – when you put the Hot Sun card above the Landscape, you gotta reveal even more cards until there are 4 in the Landscape. And get this, while the Hot Sun is hanging out, all of us players will reveal up to 4 cards on our turns instead of the usual 3. Talk about boosting the excitement!

Now, don’t get too attached to the Hot Sun because it’s only temporary. At the end of a turn, it’s gonna disappear if a Volcano or an Asteroid decides to show up in the Landscape. So enjoy the extra cards while you can!

Volcano: Here’s how it works: when it’s my turn, the player sitting to my left gets to choose a card in the Landscape. This card will be sacrificed to the volcano, along with the Volcano card itself. Once the card is discarded, I can keep playing.

At the end of my turn, all the cards in the Landscape are discarded. Don’t worry, though, because we’ll shuffle the discard pile and the draw pile together to create a fresh new draw pile.
