Spring Meadow Solo Rules
Welcome to the world of Spring Meadow! In this solo game, you’ll get to experience the joys and challenges of creating a beautiful meadow all on your own. As the sole player, you have the power to shape and cultivate the landscape to your liking.
To start, you’ll need to gather your game components. Make sure you have the game board, 80 Meadow Tiles, 20 Animal Tiles, a game token, the Solo Game cards, and the Scoring Track. Once you’re all set up, it’s time to dive into the game!
The goal of Spring Meadow is to earn as many points as possible by strategically placing Meadow Tiles and Animal Tiles on the game board. The meadow you create should be balanced and harmonious, filled with a variety of flora and fauna. The more diverse and well-designed your meadow is, the more points you’ll earn.
Each turn, you’ll reveal one Meadow Tile, which will show you the shape and size of the tile you can place on the board. Consider the available spaces and plan your moves carefully. You want to create clusters of meadow tiles to earn extra points, so think ahead and play strategically.
Animal Tiles are a key element of the game. They represent the wildlife in your meadow and can provide valuable bonuses. Placing Animal Tiles adjacent to certain Meadow Tiles will grant you additional points, so be sure to keep an eye out for these opportunities.
As the game progresses, you’ll need to manage your resources wisely. Some areas of the meadow may need more attention than others, so prioritize your actions accordingly. Don’t forget to keep an eye on the time. The game will end after a certain number of turns, so make every move count.
Throughout the game, you’ll earn points for various achievements, such as creating clusters of Meadow Tiles, placing Animal Tiles strategically, and completing specific objectives. Keep track of your progress on the Scoring Track and aim to achieve the highest score possible.
Remember, Spring Meadow is a solo game, which means you have complete control over the outcome. Take your time, think strategically, and enjoy the process of creating a beautiful meadow. With each tile you place, you’re one step closer to cultivating a masterpiece.
Are you ready to embark on this solo adventure? Gather your supplies, set up the game board, and let the beauty of Spring Meadow unfold before your eyes. Have fun and happy gardening!
In the Solo game, I’ll make 1 full circuit of the Hiking Map. I need to cover the rows on my Mountain board in the correct order as quickly as I can because the points I earn will decrease with each turn. To master the game, I’ll strategically place up to 20 Meadow tiles. If I’m up for an even bigger challenge, I can try out the campaign.
To set up the Solo Game, I’ll place the Hiking Map face up in the center of the table. Then I’ll fill the spaces with 25 random Meadow tiles and put the rest back in the box. The Rock tiles and the Marmots will be kept in the common supply, and I’ll choose a Mountain board to use. I’ll also keep pen and paper nearby to keep track of my points.
Now it’s time to start playing the game!
When I play the Solo game, the turns work just like they do in the Multiplayer version, except there are a couple of differences. First off, there are no Scoring phases, and secondly, the Hiking Map is never refilled.
So, on my turn, I grab a Meadow tile from the Signpost Path, but only if there are tiles available, of course. If I happen to move the Signpost next to a Path where there are no Meadow tiles left, I simply skip that turn and move the Signpost one step further. But don’t worry, even though I skipped a turn, it still counts as one of my maximum 24 turns. Oh, and in the Solo game, I can also use the diagonals as Signpost Paths.
Points in the Solo Game
Now, here’s where it gets interesting. As soon as I fully cover the first row on the bottom of my Mountain board, I get to write down the points noted in the Hiking Map border of the Signpost Path. So, it’s like I’m keeping track of my progress and getting rewarded for it. Pretty cool, right?
Got it! So, here’s the deal: when you’re playing this game, it’s important to keep track of your progress. Remember to jot down your points once you’ve completed a row. You might cover multiple rows in one turn, so make sure to write down your points for each row.
When you finish the game, you’ll want to tally up your points. Don’t forget to give yourself an extra point for every cleared Burrow on your Mountain board!
When I play with the Meadow tile Eva, she covers two rows, specifically the third and fourth rows. This means she’s really efficient and can earn me a lot of points! In fact, I score 32 points for this turn because each row is worth 16 points. Pretty cool, right?
The Game’s Conclusion
Our game will end in one of two ways: either when there are only 5 Meadow tiles left on the Hiking Map or after we complete 24 turns, whichever happens first. So, we gotta make the most of our time!
Reaching My Point Target
How Did I Do?
If I can score a total of 140 points, that’s a good game. But if I manage to earn 150 points, that’s something truly extraordinary!
Adventure Campaign
Before starting our first game, we need to shuffle all the Meadow tiles. Then, we create four piles, each with 25 Meadow tiles. For our adventure campaign, we’ll play four games using four different Mountain boards. The goal for the entire campaign is to reach a total of 600 points. Let’s embark on this exciting journey!
