Welcome to the exciting world of Sold Out!, a thrilling card game where you get to be the master salesman. In this game, your goal is to strategize and outwit your opponents as you navigate the ups and downs of the sales business. So, let me break down the rules for you.

Objective

The objective of Sold Out! is to be the first player to reach a certain number of sales points. The exact number depends on the number of players in the game.

Components

The game includes a deck of Sales Cards, which represent the products you can sell. Each Sales Card has a sales point value, ranging from 1 to 5. The game also includes Action Cards that allow you to take special actions to gain an advantage.

Setup

To set up the game, shuffle the Sales Cards and deal a hand of 5 cards to each player. Then, place the remaining Sales Cards face-down in a draw pile. Finally, shuffle the Action Cards and place them in a separate draw pile.

Gameplay

On your turn, you have two options: you can either sell a Sales Card or play an Action Card. To sell a Sales Card, choose one from your hand and place it face-up in front of you. Then, calculate the total sales points of all the cards in front of you. If you reach the target number of sales points, you win the game!

If you don’t want to sell a Sales Card, you can play an Action Card instead. Each Action Card has a special effect that can help you or hinder your opponents. Be strategic and use them wisely to gain an advantage in the game.

After you have taken your action, draw a new card from either the Sales Card draw pile or the Action Card draw pile. Your turn is now over, and the next player’s turn begins.

End of the Game

The game ends as soon as a player reaches the target number of sales points. That player is declared the winner of Sold Out! If multiple players reach the target number in the same round, the player with the highest total sales points wins.

And right before our eyes, the massive metal shutters of the store are starting to lift.

What’s the Goal of the Game?

Let’s race to see who can finish their shopping list first! You can play alone or in a team. To win, you’ll need to search through piles of clothes and find the items that match your list.

Getting Started

First, decide if you want to play the game alone or with a small group of friends.

Choose a Game Mode

Sold Out! offers three exciting ways to play. Each option is explained below. Before starting each round, decide how many rounds you want to play and select a game variation.

For your first few games, we suggest trying “The Rush” variation – it’s a great way to get started!

Set Up the Store

Randomly divide the clothing cards into four piles of ten cards each and five piles of nine cards each. For an authentic mall experience, you can place the piles in different areas of the room. Spread out the nine piles on furniture, the floor, and anywhere else you like.

Create Your Shopping List

(for Games 1 & 2)

When you start the game, you and your teammates need to make a shopping list. To do this, each player or team draws two objective cards at random. These cards have either one or two shopping bags on the back.

Once you have your cards, take a look at the items on your shopping list. It’s important to know what you’re looking for!

Now, place your cards face up on the Starting Table. This is where you’ll bring back the clothing cards you find in the store.

Remember, your “shopping list” is made up of the two objective cards you drew.

Let’s Play!

Game 1: The Rush

When the game begins, we all get ready to race! We each have a shopping list, and our task is to find all the items on that list as fast as we can. In the store, we can choose any pile of cards we want. Then, we need to look really quick and find the clothing card that matches one of the items on our list.

Remember: We can’t take the objective cards away from the Starting Table. They have to stay there the whole game. But we can look at our shopping lists anytime we need to.

When we finish looking through a pile of clothing, two things can happen:

• If we couldn’t find the clothing item we were looking for in the pile, we just put it back anywhere in the store and choose a new pile.

I found this interesting activity called “Shopping Spree” that I think you’ll enjoy. Here’s how it works:

First, I set up a Starting Table with a shopping list. The list has different clothing items on it that we need to find. Then, I gather a bunch of clothing cards and create piles with them.

Now, it’s time to start shopping! You pick a pile and look through it to find the clothing item that matches one on the shopping list. Once you find a match, you bring the card back to the Starting Table and place it next to the list.

But wait, there’s a twist! After you find a match, you have to put the pile back down before choosing another one. You can’t hold onto the cards!

If another player or team finds a matching item first, they bring it back to the Starting Table too. The goal is to complete the shopping list by finding all the matching clothing cards. When someone shouts, “SOLD OUT!”, it means they’ve completed their list and the round is over.

Remember, you can’t scatter or mix the cards. Keep them organized in their piles. The game ends when one player or team has matched all the clothing items on their list.

Game 2: Memory

In front of you is a list of clothing items that you need to remember. You’ll have around 30 seconds to study the list and try to memorize all the items.

Once the time is up, the round begins. Here’s where it gets tricky! You can’t look at the list anymore, so you’ll have to rely on your memory. Your goal is to collect all the clothing cards that are on your shopping list.

When you think you’ve gathered all the clothes on your list, it’s time to make a move. Shout out “SOLD OUT!” to let everyone know you’re finished.

As soon as someone calls out, everyone must stop what they’re doing. Now it’s time to tally up the points, just like in Game 1.

Remember, the key to winning this game is a sharp memory. So concentrate, keep your focus, and have fun!

Game 3: Tidying Up

Welcome to a new game variation where we’re not going shopping anymore. Instead, our mission is to clean up a messy room and put away clothes into dressers. But it won’t be an easy task! We have more dressers than players – two extra dressers, to be exact. To make these dressers, let’s grab a couple of chairs and place an objective card on each one.

Now, let’s talk about the piles of clothes that need to be cleaned up. We’ll make nine piles in total. Four piles will have ten clothes cards each, while the remaining five piles will have nine clothes cards each. Spread them out all over the room, so it looks like a real mess!

Our goal is to find the clothes mentioned on each objective card. Each player or team can search for clothes in any dresser, in any order they like. As soon as we find an item of clothing, let’s place it next to the matching objective card. We’ll keep doing this until all the clothes have been put away.

Hey there! Let’s talk about a cool game called Clothing Card Challenge. It’s a game where we keep track of who played each clothing card by piling up clothes on a chair – but there’s a twist! Before we start the round, we have to decide which position each player or team will use to pile up their clothes.

Let me give you an example: Team A will place clothes on the top of each objective card. Team B will place them on the left, and team C on the right.

When the game starts, we all start searching for clothes for our chosen dressers. As soon as I find the clothing item I need, I put it in the designated spot for me or my team. After that, I can go back to the room and keep looking for new clothes for any of the dressers.

The round ends when all dressers are filled up.

How Points are Scored

Once the round is over, we assess each dresser. The player or team who found the most clothes for one dresser earns victory points equal to the number of shopping bags shown on the objective card.

If multiple players or teams have the same number of clothes, no one earns victory points for that dresser.
