Rules for Playing Skip-Bo Junior
Are you ready to have some fun playing Skip-Bo Junior? If you like card games, then you’re in for a treat with this exciting game! Let me walk you through the rules so you can start playing right away.
The Goal of the Game
The goal of Skip-Bo Junior is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in your stockpile. A stockpile is a face-down pile of cards that each player starts with. You can get rid of your cards by playing them in numerical order on the building piles.
Setting Up the Game
To start the game, each player receives a stockpile of 10 cards. The rest of the cards are placed face-down in a draw pile in the center of the playing area. Five building piles are also created next to the draw pile. These piles will be used to play the cards in numerical order, starting with 1 and going all the way to 10.
Playing the Game
The youngest player goes first. On your turn, draw enough cards from the draw pile to make your hand total five cards. Then, play any cards you can from your stockpile and hand onto the building piles. Remember, the cards on the building piles need to be played in numerical order!
If you can’t play any cards from your stockpile or hand, you can place one card from your hand face-up on one of your discard piles. Discard piles can have any number of face-up cards, but only the top card is available for play.
The turn ends when you don’t have any more cards to play or you choose to end your turn. The next player then takes their turn in the same way.
Winning the Game
The game continues until one player has played all the cards in their stockpile. That player is the winner of the game!
Remember These Rules
To sum it up, the goal of Skip-Bo Junior is to get rid of all your cards in your stockpile. Play your cards in numerical order on the building piles, draw more cards to maintain a hand of five cards, and use your discard piles when you can’t play any cards.
Now that you know the rules of Skip-Bo Junior, gather your friends or family and start playing this exciting card game today! Have fun!
Let me tell you how to play this cool card game called Stockpile. The objective is to get rid of all your cards by creating piles in numerical order from 1 to 10 in the middle of the playing area.
The first person to get rid of all their cards from their stockpile wins the game!
Setting Up the Game
- The person who is the oldest gets to be the dealer.
- The dealer shuffles the deck of cards and gives each player 10 cards face down. These cards make up your stockpile.
- Each player flips over the top card of their stockpile and places it face-up on top.
- The youngest player gets to go first.
Note: If you want a longer game, deal more cards. If you want a shorter game, deal fewer cards.

Game Play
Take your turn by sticking with each player cards face-up, dealing them three cards at a time. These three cards make up what we call your “hand.”
Note: If you have leftover cards from a previous turn, the dealer will simply place the new three cards right on top of them, forming three separate piles.
As we get into the game, we’ll be creating and playing on BUILDING PILES that sit in the middle of the play area. Here’s how they work:
– Building piles start with the number 1 card and go up to 10.
– There can be as many as 4 building piles at once, but no more than that. And, get this, all players can play on all 4 building piles!
– You can kick off a building pile by playing either a number 1 card or a wildcard “?” card. The “?” card can stand in for any number you want.
Now that you know the basics of how to play, let’s dive into the fun part!
Whenever you want to play a card on a building pile, it must be the next higher number compared to the card on the top of that pile. For example, if the top card is a 3, you can play a 4 on top of it. You also have the option to play a wild “?” card to represent a 4. Once a building pile reaches 10 or a wild card representing 10, that pile is considered completed and it is removed to make way for a new pile.
During your turn, try to make a play using the card at the top of your stockpile. If you play the top card, flip over the next card and see if you can play that one too. Keep going in this manner until you cannot make any more plays.
You can also make plays from the cards at the top of your hand. When you play a card from your hand, the next card underneath it is now playable, if there is one.
When it’s my turn, I keep playing by adding cards to the building piles in order from lowest to highest until I can’t make any more moves.
Once I can’t play anymore, it’s the next player’s turn to my left.
If the dealer runs out of new cards to deal, we shuffle all the cards from the discarded building piles.
The player who gets rid of all their cards in their stockpile first wins! I don’t have to get rid of the cards in my hand.
End of the Game
The first player to get rid of all their cards in their stockpile is the winner!
