Ship, Captain, and Crew Game Rules
Ahoy, matey! Let me tell ye about the game of Ship, Captain, and Crew. It be a dice game that’ll have ye on the edge of yer seat. Are ye ready to give it a go?
The game be played with five dice. The goal be to roll the dice and get a ship, a captain, and a crewmember. Ye can only roll three times, so ye need to make those rolls count!
To start the game, ye roll all five dice. Ye be lookin’ to roll a 6 for a ship, a 5 for a captain, and a 4 for a crewmember. If ye roll any of these, ye need to set ’em aside and reroll the rest of the dice.
If ye don’t roll any of the required numbers on yer first roll, ye can choose to reroll all five dice or just keep some and roll the rest. Ye want to keep any dice that be close to the ship, captain, or crewmember numbers.
After ye’ve rolled three times and set aside yer ship, captain, and crew, ye add up the total. The ship be worth 6 points, the captain be worth 5 points, and the crewmember be worth 4 points. The rest of the dice be worth face value.
The player with the highest total be the winner. If there be a tie, the player with the highest ship be the winner. And if there be a tie on that too, the player with the highest captain be the winner. If there still be a tie, ye can start the game again or find another way to settle it.
Arr, that be the rules of the Ship, Captain, and Crew game. Now ye be ready to hoist the sails and set yer course for victory! Good luck, me hearties!
Roll three dice to play a game called “Ship, Captain, and Crew.” Your goal is to get the highest score with the remaining two dice, known as the “Booty.”
If you have the highest score at the end of the round, you will win all the Gold Booty in the pot.
If you want to win the game, you need to have the most Gold Booty by the end of 5 rounds. It’s all about gathering that treasure!
Getting Started
To play the game, you’ll need 5 dice and a cup.
Make sure to divide the Booty pieces equally among all players. If there are any extra pieces, they go into a pot for the first round.
If you have more than 4 players, you can have two games going at once. Just use another set of 5 dice and another cup.
Game On!
Arr, matey! It be time to set sail on the high seas and play a jolly game of Pirate’s Dice. The scurvy dog with the finest pirate twang be takin’ the first turn. But before we embark on this grand adventure, we all need to throw a piece of Booty into the pot.
Once the pot is filled, it be time to get rollin’. Each player gets to roll the dice five times, but ye can choose to stop before that if ye be content with yer roll.
Now, listen closely, me hearties. Ye need to roll a Ship, a Captain, and a Crew, in that order. Only then can ye be eligible to score some points. With the remaining two dice, ye can determine yer total score.
But heed this warning, ye landlubber. Ye can only count the points from the remaining two dice if ye have a Ship, a Captain, and a Crew. If ye do, ye be settin’ those dice aside and give the others a good tumble.
If ye got any rolls left, ye can use ’em to calculate yer score for the round. And that’s how ye play Pirate’s Dice, my mateys. Argh, good luck to ye all!
For instance, let me tell ye a tale: me first roll was a fine 6-4-4-2-2.
So here’s the deal, my friend. You get to keep the Ship, but wave goodbye to the Crew and any other dice. It’s a fresh start, you know? Now, before you can keep a shiny new Crew, you gotta roll a Captain. Got it? Good.
Alright, here comes the second roll. Brace yourself. It’s a 6-3-2-2.
When you’re playing this game, there’s a specific rule that you need to keep in mind. Let me explain it to you. If for some reason you find yourself unable to use any of the four dice, don’t panic! There’s a solution. All you have to do is roll the dice again.
Let’s say you’re in that situation, and you roll the dice for the third time. Guess what numbers you get? You get a 5, a 4, a 3, and another 5. It’s a bit unexpected, but that’s the beauty of this game. You never know what will happen next!
Let me tell you how the game works. It’s called Ship-Captain-Crew. In the first roll, the player gets a Ship, which is a 6, and sets it aside. Then, they roll again and get a Captain (5) and a Crew (4). With these, they complete the Ship-Captain-Crew combo and have a score of 8 (3+5). If they want to improve the score, they can re-roll the last two dice on the second and third rolls. But if they decide to re-roll, they have to re-roll both remaining dice.
The player can stop after any roll and keep that score. However, if they don’t complete the 6-5-4 combo by the fifth roll, they score a “0” for the turn.
At the end of the round, the player with the highest score wins all the Booty in the pot. If there is a tie, the pot carries over to the next turn.
The game ends after 5 rounds, and the player with the most Gold Booty wins. Simple as that!
There are also variations of the game you can try if you like. Endless fun awaits!

Unicode(buffer):’The Short Plank is just like the Ship Deck game, but with a twist. Instead of rolling the dice four times, you only get three total rolls. This version of the game is perfect for those who prefer a quicker pace and higher excitement. Are you ready to test your luck?’
And if you enjoy playing with a large group of people, the Short Plank Variation will certainly elevate the energy and thrill.

Mutiny on the High Seas Variation:
Unicode(buffer):’No Captain? No problem! The Mutiny on the High Seas Variation eliminates the need for a Captain. All you need to play is a Ship (6) and Crew (4).
