Welcome to the Rococo era! I’m here to take you on a journey back in time to the days of Louis XV in France. During this period, it was all the rage to host extravagant balls where important people would gather, dressed to impress and outshine one another.

This is where you come in. As a dressmaker, you’re no longer just creating beautiful garments for your clients. You’ve been entrusted with the enormous task of managing the most prestigious ball of the era. It’s time to take center stage and roc(k) it!

The Goal of the Game

In Rococo, your main objective is to build a successful dressmaking business and earn as much Prestige as possible. On each turn, you’ll play an Employee card and use their skills to carry out various tasks. For example, you can hire new employees, create exquisite dresses, or contribute funds for decorations. The choices are yours!

But not all employees are capable of handling every task. That’s why it’s crucial to choose your employees wisely and lead them effectively. Each employee brings their own unique skills and abilities, and some of them even grant special bonuses. These bonuses can be especially valuable as they generate Prestige Points, which are like tokens that reward you for your outstanding performance.

Once 7 rounds have passed, the game comes to an end with a final scoring. At this point, you’ll earn Prestige Points based on the bonuses provided by your employees, as well as the dresses you rented out to the guests at the ball and the decorations you funded.

After the final scoring, all players will total up their Prestige Points. The player with the highest amount of Prestige Points is declared the winner of the game.

Components

You’ll find the following components inside the game box:

  • 1 double-sided Game board
  • 42 Dress tiles
  • 1 Starting Player marker
  • 16 wooden Lace makers
  • 16 wooden Thread makers
  • 1 Cloth bag
  • 48 Coins
  • 48 Prestige Point tokens
  • 1 Favor card
  • 28 Employee cards
  • 25 Base Employee cards
  • 1 Overview card “Final scoring”
  • 48 Resource tiles
  • 80 wooden Property markers
  • 5 Player boards

Let’s get the game set up:

1. Start by carefully removing the cardboard pieces from the punch boards before your first game.

2. Place the Game board in the center of the table, ensuring the side that corresponds to the number of players is facing up. You can determine this by checking the numbers in the lower right corner of the board.

3. Put the Favor card next to the Favor space on the Game board. And that’s it! You’re ready to start playing.

Alright, let’s get started on organizing the Employee cards!

First, I’m going to sort the 28 cards based on their level numbers, from 1 to 6. I’ll start by shuffling the six “level 6” cards and placing them face down in a stack right next to the Game board.

Next, I’ll shuffle the four “level 5” cards and place them on top of the stack we just made. I’ll continue this process with the cards of level 4, 3, and 2, placing each shuffled stack on top of the previous one.

Finally, I’ll take the shuffled “level 1” cards and put them on top of all the other cards. This entire stack is what we call the “general Employee stack.”

Now it’s time to shuffle the Resource tiles. I’ll mix them up and place them as multiple face-down stacks next to the Warehouse section of the Game board.

We can’t forget about the Dress tiles! I’ll gather all of them and put them into the Cloth bag. Then, I’ll make sure to give the Cloth bag a spot beside the Game board.

Once we’ve sorted everything, it’s time for each player to pick a color. They will receive the items of that color, including 1 Player board, 5 Base Employee cards, which they need to place face down beneath the left space of their Player board, and 16 Property markers.

Here’s what you need to do to set up the game:

  1. Place the Coins (Livre) beside the Game board to form the bank. Then, put the Prestige Point tokens next to the bank.
  2. Set up the general supply of Thread and Lace markers next to the Game board.
  3. Each player receives their starting capital. Place it next to their Player board. Starting capital includes 15 Livre, 1 Lace marker, and 1 Thread marker.
  4. Determine the Starting Player. The Starting Player receives the Starting Player marker.

Some important things to note:

  • When I say “Dress,” I mean both the Ladies’ dress and the Men’s coat.
  • Even though some Dresses have a second color, each Dress has only one main color (the color of the overskirt or jacket).
  • The colors of the Dresses are not the same as the player colors. Yellow dresses and green coats are common with 13 tiles each. On the other hand, red dresses (10 tiles) and blue coats (6 tiles) are quite rare.

I’m here to help you understand the ins and outs of playing the game. Let’s dive right in and take a look at some important details!

First, we have a few items that are considered unlimited. These include property markers, thread markers, lace markers, coins, and Prestige Point tokens. However, if any of these items should run out during the game, don’t worry! You can simply use something else as a replacement.

Speaking of Prestige Points, whenever you gain them, you’ll need to take the appropriate amount from the Prestige Point tokens supply. After that, you’ll place them face down in front of you. You have the option to keep your score hidden until the end of the game.

Now, let’s talk about money. Unlike Prestige Points, you can’t keep your money hidden. It’s open for everyone to see!

Moving on to the cards, at the beginning of the game, each player’s cards are in their face-down Employee supply. This supply is located on the left space of their Player board. As each round begins, players will pick their hand cards from this supply. Once a hand card is played, it goes into the face-up Discard pile, which can be found on the right space of the player board. The Employee supply, hand cards, and Discard pile make up the player’s Employee deck.

Remember, these details are essential for a smooth gameplay experience. Now that you have a solid understanding, you’re ready to dive into the game! Happy playing!

Let’s Play Rococo!

Rococo is a game that we play over 7 rounds. Each round has 4 different phases that we need to go through:

  • Phase 1: Prepare for a new round
  • Phase 2: Select 3 hand cards
  • Phase 3: Take actions
  • Phase 4: Collect income

Once we reach the 7th round and use up all the general Employee cards, the game comes to an end and we move on to the final scoring.

Phase 1: Prepare for a New Round

A. Favor Card – Starting Player

(Don’t worry about this in the first round).

If one of us managed to get the Favor card in the previous round, they will become the Starting Player and take the Starting Player marker. The Favor card should then be returned to its place next to the Game board.

(If none of us got the Favor card in the previous round, the Starting Player stays the same).

Section B: Four Fresh Faces

  1. First, if there are any Employee cards left from the previous round, we need to remove them from the game. These cards are found next to the Hire spaces on the Game board.
  2. Next, let’s take a look at the Employee stack. We’re going to reveal exactly 4 new Employee cards from this stack. Place these cards face up next to the 4 Hire spaces on the Game board.

Note: As we progress through rounds 1 to 6, the highest level number we see on the revealed cards tells us which round we’re on.

In round 7, the Employee stack will be empty once we’ve revealed all 4 cards.

Section C: Fresh Resources

When it’s time to fill the 3 Warehouse segments, I’ll grab a face-up Resource tile from any stack and place it in each empty space. But hold on, if there are any leftover tiles from the last round, they’ll stay right where they are.

But what if all the Resource stacks run out? No worries! I’ll just take all the discarded tiles, give them a good shuffle, and create new stacks with them. I’ll make sure to place them face down this time. Now, if there still aren’t enough tiles to fill up all the empty spaces, well, those spaces will just have to stay empty for now.

Now, let’s talk about the new Dress Tiles.

The Workshop’s Window spaces need some love, so I’ll fill them with Dress tiles. Here’s how:

First, if there are any Dress tiles left from the previous round chilling on the 2 rightmost Window spaces (you’ll know them by their dark color and the “), I’ll just say goodbye to them and put them in a separate pile for discarded Dress tiles.

Imagine this: you’re in a Workshop, surrounded by colorful tiles called Dresses. Your goal is to place these Dresses on Window spaces. But wait! There’s a twist. There may be Dress tiles left on the Window spaces. No worries, though. I’ve got you covered.

Here’s what you can do: if there are any Dress tiles left on any other Window spaces, simply move those tiles to the right. Keep moving them until you’ve filled up all the Windows on the right side of the Workshop. Easy peasy, right?

Finally, I need to fill every empty window space in the Workshop. To do this, I grab a random Dress tile from the Cloth bag and place it in each empty space. It’s important to make sure that all the Dress tiles have their draft side facing up so they’re ready to be worked on.

If I find that the Cloth bag is empty, don’t worry! I just need to take all the Dress tiles from the discard pile and put them back into the bag. After that, I give the bag a good shuffle. If there are still empty spaces in the Workshop and I don’t have enough Dress tiles in the bag, I just leave the leftmost spaces empty for now.

Phase 2: Choose 3 Employee Cards

Now it’s time to pick your team! Simultaneously and secretly, select 3 Employee cards from your collection. These cards are kept face-down beneath the left space on your Player board.

Once you’ve made your choices, take those 3 Employee cards into your hand. Any remaining cards in your collection should be placed face-down in the left space of your Player board.

From the second round onward, keep this in mind:

If you have fewer than 3 cards in your collection, don’t worry. Take all of the cards you have and add them to your hand. Then, gather your cards from your Discard pile (the face-up pile underneath the right space on your Player board) and move them to the left space, face-down. You can now select additional cards from this new collection to bring your hand back up to 3 cards.

When you find yourself with only 3 cards left in your Employee supply, you don’t have any other option but to add them to your hand.

Note: It’s crucial to remember that in this situation, you should not create a new Employee supply from your Discard pile later. Instead, you will do this at the start of Phase 2 in the next round.

For example (starting from the second round):

Okay, so I’ve got to pick 3 cards from my Employee supply. Easy enough, right?

Step 3: Time to Make Moves

First, the Starting Player goes, and then it’s clockwise from there. Each of us takes a turn playing 1 card from our hand – as long as we still have some. When you play a card, you get to do a main action. And hey, sometimes the card might even give you a bonus too.

Once we’ve all played our cards, this phase is done.

Now, let me break it down for you: the type of main action you can do on your turn depends on the Employee shown on the card you played.

Master

Hey there! So, you want to become a master at rewriting? Well, you’ve come to the right place! I’ll guide you through the process and help you polish your skills. Trust me, with a little practice and some useful techniques, you’ll be able to transform any text into a unique masterpiece. Ready? Let’s get started!

First things first, let’s talk about why rewriting is so important. When we rewrite something, we’re taking existing content and giving it a fresh new spin. It’s like taking a plain old piece of paper and turning it into a vibrant work of art. By putting our own voice and style into the words, we can make them more engaging and enjoyable to read. Plus, it’s a great way to show off our creativity and unique perspective.

Now, let’s take a look at some key tips for effective rewriting. These will help you bring out your inner wordsmith and create compelling content that stands out from the crowd.

1. Put yourself in the reader’s shoes. When you’re rewriting, think about how the reader will experience your words. What do they want to hear? How can you capture their attention and keep them hooked? By thinking like a reader, you’ll be able to make your content more relatable and engaging.

2. Keep it simple and clear. Remember, you’re writing for a 5th-grade reading level, so keep your language accessible. Use contractions to create a conversational tone and vary your sentence lengths and structures to keep things interesting. Simple doesn’t mean boring – it just means making your content easy to understand and enjoyable to read.

3. Be original and distinct. Don’t just rehash the same old ideas. Put your own unique spin on things and let your personality shine through. Infuse your content with creativity and burstiness that make it stand out from the rest. Don’t be afraid to take risks and think outside the box!

4. Pay attention to the details. Remember to keep the HTML markup intact. Make sure all tags are properly closed and that the code is valid and functional. Attention to detail is key to creating professional and polished content.

5. Practice makes perfect. Rewriting is a skill, and like any skill, it takes practice to master. So keep at it! The more you rewrite, the better you’ll become. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try new techniques. With time and practice, you’ll develop your own unique style and become a true master of rewriting.

So, there you have it – a guide to becoming a master of rewriting. Remember, it’s all about putting your own unique spin on things, creating engaging content, and having fun with words. Now go out there and rewrite your way to greatness! I believe in you.

(symbol: golden thimble)I can do any of these 6 actions.

Journeyman

I have always been fascinated by the concept of a journeyman. The idea of embarking on a journey to learn and develop a craft is both intriguing and inspiring. The journeyman tradition dates back centuries and is still relevant in today’s world.

When I think about a journeyman, I imagine someone who is eager to explore new horizons and experience different perspectives. It’s a way of stepping out of one’s comfort zone and embracing the unknown. As a journeyman, you have the opportunity to learn from masters in your field, gaining invaluable knowledge and skills that can only be obtained through hands-on experience.

Being a journeyman is not just about acquiring technical expertise; it’s also about personal growth and self-discovery. Through your travels, you are exposed to different cultures, traditions, and ways of life. This broadens your perspective and allows you to see the world through a new lens. It challenges you to adapt and embrace change, which in turn fosters resilience and flexibility.

Another aspect of the journeyman tradition that I find appealing is the sense of community and camaraderie that comes with it. As you travel from place to place, you meet fellow journeymen who share the same passion and drive. You form bonds and connections that can last a lifetime. These connections not only provide support and encouragement but also open doors to new opportunities and collaborations.

One of the key benefits of being a journeyman is the opportunity for continuous learning. As you progress in your craft, you encounter new challenges and obstacles that push you to expand your knowledge and skills. This constant growth ensures that you never stop evolving and improving. It’s a lifelong journey of discovery and refinement.

So, if you’re someone who is curious and eager to explore the world while honing your craft, then the journeyman path might be perfect for you. It’s an adventure filled with excitement, challenges, and endless possibilities. Embrace the unknown, step out of your comfort zone, and embark on a journey of a lifetime. The journeyman awaits.

Hey there! Guess what? I just found out that you and I, unfortunately, can’t perform the action called “Hire a new Employee” in this game we play. Bummer, right? Well, let me explain. You see, when it comes to this symbol called the silver thimble, it’s got some limits. One of those limits is that it prevents us from hiring new employees. It’s kind of like a rule that says we can’t do it.

Apprentice

Hey there! So, you’re interested in understanding why we use HTML, right? Well, let me break it down for you.

HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language. It’s the language that websites are built with. You see, when you visit a website, the web browser uses HTML to interpret and display all the different elements of that website, like the text, images, and links.

HTML is like the backbone of a website. It provides the structure and organization that allows web browsers to understand and present the content to you. Without HTML, websites wouldn’t exist as we know them today!

When I’m working with HTML, I use something called tags. Tags are like labels that tell the browser how to interpret different pieces of content. For example, the tag is used to indicate a paragraph, and the tag is used to display an image.

But it’s not just about labels. HTML tags also have attributes that provide additional information. Attributes are like extra instructions for the browser. For instance, the tag might have an attribute called “src” that tells the browser where to find the image file.

Now, I know all this HTML stuff might sound a bit confusing at first, but don’t worry! You’ll get the hang of it. It’s all about learning the different tags and how they work together.

So, why should you learn HTML? Well, let me tell you why it’s important. By understanding HTML, you’ll have the power to create your own websites and customize them to your liking. Plus, it’s a valuable skill to have in today’s digital world.

Just imagine being able to build a website all by yourself. You can create something unique and share it with the world. How cool is that?

And don’t worry, you don’t need to be a coding genius to learn HTML. Anyone can do it! There are plenty of resources available online, like tutorials and guides, that can help you get started.

So, what are you waiting for? Dive into the world of HTML and unleash your creativity. The possibilities are endless!

A brass thimble symbolizes many things. It is a small but essential tool that can never be underestimated. Just like a thimble, there are certain actions that it can never perform, no matter how much we desire. Let’s explore three of these actions and understand why the thimble is incapable of achieving them.

The first action is “Claim the Queen’s favor.” As much as we may long for the approval of royalty, the thimble cannot fulfill this wish. It is a humble tool, not fit for the grandeur of the royal court. There are other ways to seek favor, but the thimble, alas, is not the means to achieve this.

The second action is “Make a Dress.” While a thimble is used in sewing, it cannot single-handedly create a beautiful garment. It aids in the process, but it requires the skillful hands of a tailor or seamstress to bring the dress to life. The thimble is but a small cog in the larger machinery of dressmaking.

The third action is “Hire a new Employee.” The thimble, being an inanimate object, lacks the ability to hire or recruit. It cannot assess skills or conduct interviews. These tasks require human judgment and interaction. The thimble, though useful in its own right, cannot take on this responsibility.

So, while the thimble is a symbol of craftsmanship and attention to detail, there are certain limitations to what it can achieve. It serves its purpose well in the realm of sewing, but there are grander actions that are beyond its capabilities. Let us appreciate the thimble for what it is, rather than expecting it to perform miracles.

#image.jpg

Once you’ve completed your main action, you have the option to use the Employee bonus shown on the lower half of the card. Keep in mind, you can also decide to skip using the main action and/or the bonus altogether.

When your turn is over, take the Employee card and put it face up in the right spot of your Player board, on your Discard pile.

Now it’s time for the next player to take their turn.

Hey there! I’m excited to tell you some important information about the employee cards in the game.

Note: The Base Employee cards called “Master” don’t have any bonuses. But, the “level 6” Employee cards known as “Apprentice” are special. They have a crown symbol and a red bonus background. However, you can’t use the bonus from these cards during the game. They only come into play when we calculate the final scores.

Let’s dive into the 6 main actions in the game:

1. Claim The Queen’s Favor

(You can do this as either a Master or a Journeyman.)

If the Favor card is still next to the Favor space on the Game board, pick it up and put it in front of you. This means you get 5 Livre right away from the bank.

When the game round begins, you have the advantage of being the Starting Player. Keep in mind that this privilege can only be enjoyed by one player each round, regardless of their current status as the Starting Player.

Once the game comes to an end, make sure to take note of whether or not you possess the Favor card. If you do, congratulations! You will receive 3 Prestige Points as a reward.

2. Gather Resources

(You can do this with the help of a Master, a Journeyman, or an Apprentice)

You can get 1 Resource tile from any of the 3 parts of the Warehouse. You must pay Livre based on the number of tiles currently shown in that part.

  • If there are 3 or 4 tiles in the segment, the bank will give you 2 Livre.
  • If there are 2 tiles, the bank will give you 1 Livre.
  • If the tile is the last one in its segment, you don’t have to pay for it.

Once you’ve paid for the tile, you need to make a decision right away:

I’ve gotta tell you, it can be a bit confusing when you’re playing this game called “Livre Tiles.” But I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve that I think might help you out. You ready?

So, here’s the deal. When you’re playing Livre Tiles, it’s all about figuring out the costs and benefits. You’ll come across different segments with tiles, and each segment has its own set of rules. Let me break it down for you.

If you see a segment with 3 or 4 tiles, then listen up. You’re gonna have to pay the bank. But here’s the cool part – the bank will actually give you 2 Livre in return. So, it’s not all bad, right?

But if you stumble upon a segment with just 2 tiles, the bank will only ask for 1 Livre in payment. Not too shabby, huh?

Now, here’s where things get interesting. If you happen to come across a tile that’s the last one in its segment, guess what? You don’t have to pay a single Livre for it! Yep, you got it – it’s absolutely free!

Now, remember, once you’ve paid for a tile, you’ve gotta make a choice right then and there. What’s it gonna be? Here are your options:

First, you can decide to keep the tile for yourself. It’s all yours, and you can do whatever you want with it. Pretty simple, right?

On the other hand, you can choose to leave the tile behind. Maybe it’s not what you’re looking for, or maybe it just doesn’t fit your strategy. In that case, you’ll have to say goodbye to the tile and move on.

So, that’s the lowdown on Livre Tiles. It might seem a bit confusing at first, but with these tips I’ve given you, I’m sure you’ll be a pro in no time. Have fun and good luck!

  1. First, flip the tile so that the picture of the silk bales is facing down. You’ll need those bales later.
  2. Next, get rid of the tile by placing it on the discard pile with the other face-up Resource tiles. In return, you can take the number of Thread and/or Lace markers shown on the lower half of the tile. Keep in mind that a plus sign means you can gain both markers, while a slash means you can choose one or the other.

Your Resource tiles should be kept facing down in front of you. However, if someone asks, you must reveal how many tiles you have. Any Thread or Lace markers you collect must be displayed openly. If there are no Resource tiles left in any of the Warehouse sections, you won’t be able to perform the “Acquire Resources” action.

3. Create an Outfit

(You can do this as a Master or a Journeyman)

Here’s how it works: You can choose one of the Dresses you see in the Workshop. To do this, you’ll need to pay the cost shown on the Dress tile—you can pay anywhere from 0 to 8 Livre to the bank. Then, you’ll need to give up the resources that are shown on the tile: bales of silk and either a Thread marker or a Lace marker.

If you don’t have the exact number of resources needed, don’t worry! You can give up multiple Resource tiles to match the total number of bales required. Just keep in mind that any extra bales on those tiles will be lost—they won’t be counted. Once you’ve used the Resource tiles, discard them onto the face-up Resource tile discard pile.

Some Dress tiles also feature a beautiful golden thimble. These special Dresses can only be created by a Master.

Remember: The face-down Resource tiles in front of you are only usable as silk. Any Threads or Lace that are needed must be returned to the general supply using the wooden markers.

Once you have paid the required amount of money and resources, you can take a Dress tile from its Window space. At this point, you have to make a decision:

Rent Out The Dress:

Flip the Dress tile over to its rental side and place it on any available Guest space in one of the five halls on the Game board. Please note that you cannot place the Dress tile on a dashed space on the Terrace. #image.jpgThe “fancy” Guest spaces located in the middle of each hall are known as the Master Guest spaces. You can only utilize these spaces if you have created the Dress tile through a Master, regardless of whether the tile shows a thimble on its draft side. Once you have assigned the tile to a Guest space, place one of your Property markers on top of it. The Prestige Points indicated on the tile will be awarded to you at the end of the game. If the Guest space where you placed your tile offers a bonus reward, you can immediately benefit from it: #image.jpgCollect the amount of Livre indicated on the space. #image.jpgTake one Thread marker from the supply. #image.jpgObtain one Lace marker from the supply. #image.jpgIf available, you are entitled to select one Resource tile from any segment of the Warehouse at no cost. You must decide immediately whether to keep the tile as silk or exchange it for the depicted Yarn and/or Lace. #image.jpg

Selling the Dress

4. Bringing on a New Team Member

When selling a dress, it’s crucial to find the right buyer who appreciates its beauty. After all, you want someone who will feel the same excitement you felt when you first laid eyes on it. But how do you attract that perfect buyer?

One simple tactic is to capture stunning photographs of the dress. A picture is worth a thousand words, they say, and in this case, it couldn’t be truer. By showcasing the dress in all its glory, you’ll catch the attention of potential buyers and ignite their curiosity. They’ll be drawn to the dress’s intricate details and elegant design, just like you were.

However, it’s not just about the visuals. When writing the description for your dress, you need to strike a perfect balance between providing the necessary details and enticing the reader’s imagination. Share the dress’s measurements, fabric, and any special features it might have, but also weave in some enchanting words that transport the reader to a world of possibilities.

When it comes to pricing your dress, it’s essential to be fair and realistic. Research the market and consider factors like the dress’s condition, brand, and original price. A higher price may reflect its exclusivity, but make sure it aligns with what potential buyers are willing to pay. Remember, you want to find the perfect buyer, and the right price will attract serious inquiries.

Finally, be a trustworthy seller. A reputation for honesty and reliability goes a long way. Respond promptly to inquiries, provide accurate information, and be transparent about any flaws or alterations. Honesty builds trust, and trust leads to successful transactions.

When hiring a new team member, it’s crucial to find the right fit for your company. You’re not just looking for someone with the right skills and experience; you want someone who shares your company’s values and vision. So, how can you find that perfect candidate?

Firstly, crafting a compelling job listing is essential. Describe your company culture, mission, and the role the candidate will play in achieving your goals. Clearly outline the necessary qualifications and skills, but also emphasize the values and qualities you seek in an employee. Be authentic and passionate in your words and show potential candidates why your company is the perfect match for them.

Once applications start pouring in, it’s time to review them. Look for candidates who not only meet the qualifications on paper but also display a genuine interest in your company. Are they excited about the opportunity? Do they demonstrate a clear understanding of your industry and the challenges it faces? These are the candidates who will bring enthusiasm and fresh perspectives to your team.

Next, conducting interviews is an opportunity to get to know the candidates on a deeper level. Ask open-ended questions that allow them to showcase their problem-solving skills and their ability to work collaboratively. Look for individuals who can communicate effectively, adapt to change, and demonstrate a growth mindset. Remember, skills can be taught, but attitude and cultural fit are crucial.

Lastly, trust your instincts. Gut feelings can often provide valuable insights about a candidate. If you have reservations about someone, it’s essential to listen to those concerns. Remember, hiring the wrong person can have significant consequences for your team and your company’s success.

Selling a dress and hiring a new team member may seem like two very different tasks, but they both require a thoughtful and strategic approach. By considering the unique factors involved in each process, you’ll increase your chances of finding the perfect buyer for your dress or the perfect addition to your team.

(This may only be done by me)

You can choose to acquire one of the Employee cards that you see next to the Hire spaces on the Game board. But remember, you’ll have to pay for it. The cost depends on the number of cards currently on display:

  • If there are 4 cards, you’ll have to return 5 Livre to the bank.
  • If there are 3 cards, you’ll have to return 3 Livre to the bank.
  • If there are 2 cards, you’ll have to return 1 Livre to the bank.
  • If the card is the last one, you can take it for free.

Once you’ve paid for the card, you can add it to your hand. This means you can use it in a future turn in the current round. It’s important to note that the number of turns you have in a round may differ from other players if you choose to take an Employee card. If there are no Employee cards available on display, you won’t be able to hire a new Employee.

5. Assign a Task to Your Employee

(You have the option of performing this action as a Master, a Journeyman, or an Apprentice)

I’m going to remove the Employee card from the game altogether. It’s like your Employee has been summoned to work at the King’s court. In return, you’ll receive some money from the bank based on the Livre amount shown on the carriage at the bottom of the Employee card:

  • If you’re a Master, you’ll get 10 Livre #image.jpg
  • If you’re a Journeyman, you’ll get 7 Livre #image.jpg
  • If you’re an Apprentice, you’ll get 4 Livre #image.jpg

It’s important: Once you’ve received your money, you can also make use of the Employee bonus on the card. Then, you have to remove the card from the game (put it back in the box).

Remember: You can assign Employees of any color, whether they are your own or hired. However, you cannot assign an Employee if you only have 4 Employee cards left in your deck.

This rule applies to the main action and any bonuses from Employee cards (refer to page 8). Masters are crucial, so it is strongly advised not to assign the last Master from your deck.

6. Fund A Decoration

Investing your money in decorating the ball can have two benefits: earning Prestige Points at the end of the game and increasing your income in the “Collect income” phase.

To fund a decoration, you can place one of your Property markers on a free Decoration space on the Game board, such as Fireworks, Musician, Statue, or Fountain. You must pay the bank the amount of Livre indicated on the chosen space.

At the end of the game, you will receive the Prestige Points shown next to the Decoration space. There is no limit to the number of Decoration spaces you can occupy throughout the game.

However, there is a limitation when it comes to the Fountain. The Fountain has an upper row and a lower row. You can only occupy one Decoration space per row.

Next, we move on to Phase 4: Collect Income.

Once every player has exhausted their hand cards, the “Take actions” phase concludes, and each player receives their income.

When we play the game, each of us starts with 5 Livre as our base income. But that’s not all! If we have Property markers on the Fountain Decoration spaces, we can earn even more.

In the upper row of the Fountain, each Property marker we have allows us to earn Livre equal to the number of Decoration spaces on the Game board that have our Property marker on them. However, we don’t count the spaces with the “All halls” bonus.

In the lower row of the Fountain, each Property marker we have lets us earn Livre equal to the number of Dresses we’ve placed on the Game board. These Dresses must have our Property marker on them.

After we’ve collected our income, we move on to the next round and start with phase 1: “Prepare for new round”.

The Game Ends

Hey there! So, here’s what happens when the game comes to an end: After the 7th round, when we’ve used up all the general Employee cards, it’s time for the final scoring. And guess what? We symbolize this momentous occasion with a crown!

To keep things organized during the final scoring, you can refer to the “Final scoring” card on the Overview card. It’s super helpful!

Alright, now let’s break down the steps for scoring:

1. First things first, we’ll count how much money you return to the bank. For every 10 Livre you give back, you’ll earn yourself 1 Prestige Point. Oh, and if you have some change left over, keep it as a tie breaker just in case.

2. Now, it’s time to see if your Employee cards have any tricks up their sleeves. If you have any cards in your own Employee deck that show a crown and a red bonus background, you’ll get extra points. And if you happen to own the Favor card, you’re in for a treat – you’ll receive a bonus of 3 Prestige Points.

3. We’re not done yet! Next, it’s time to score the different sections on the Game board. But wait, there’s an order to this. First, we’ll determine who has the majority in each of the 5 Halls. It’s kind of a big deal!

Majority In Each Of The 5 Halls

When you’re playing the game, there are 5 halls where you can earn Prestige Points based on the number of Dresses you have. The hall’s Prestige Points are displayed in a colored box in the upper right corner. The player with the most Dresses gets the points before the slash, and the player with the second most Dresses gets the points after the slash. If there’s a tie, we look at who has more Dresses on the Master Guest spaces in that hall. If the tie is still not resolved, we check if any tied player has a marker on the Musician Decoration space in that hall. If not, all tied players receive the full number of Prestige Points before the slash. If there are runners-up, they don’t receive any Prestige Points for that hall. In a 2-player game, only the player with the most Dresses in each hall gets Prestige Points. The second most Dresses don’t count.

A Different Perspective on Fireworks

Fireworks are a fascinating spectacle that never fails to captivate the senses. The vibrant colors, the explosive sounds, the mesmerizing patterns – it’s a breathtaking display of beauty and artistry. But have you ever stopped to wonder about the science behind these magical marvels? Join me as we delve into the world of fireworks and explore the secrets that make them light up the night sky.

Let’s start with the basics. Fireworks are made up of different components, each playing a crucial role in creating the dazzling effects we see. The first and most important ingredient is gunpowder, also known as black powder. This explosive mixture is made from sulfur, charcoal, and potassium nitrate, and it’s responsible for the spectacular bursts that fill the air. But gunpowder alone isn’t enough to create the captivating colors we associate with fireworks.

To achieve those vibrant hues, fireworks makers add various metal salts to the mix. These metal salts, such as strontium for red, barium for green, and copper for blue, are the real magic workers. When heated, these salts release energy in the form of light, giving us the beautiful colors we love. It’s like a chemical symphony, with each metal salt playing its part in creating a visual masterpiece.

The shapes and patterns we see in fireworks are carefully crafted using different pyrotechnic techniques. One of these techniques is called “stars.” These small, solid pellets are made from a mixture of gunpowder and different metal salts. They are packed into larger containers called shells, which are usually made from cardboard or plastic. When the shell is ignited, the stars explode outwards, creating dazzling spheres of light.

But the journey of a firework doesn’t end there. Gravity pulls the expended materials back towards the ground, resulting in the glorious cascades of sparks that we call “fallout.” These cascades create a dazzling rain of light, adding an extra touch of magic to the overall display.

Now, let’s address the safety aspect of fireworks. It’s important to remember that fireworks are explosives and should be treated with respect. That’s why it’s crucial to attend public fireworks displays instead of attempting to set them off on your own. The professionals behind these displays have the expertise to handle fireworks safely, ensuring an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Fireworks truly are a magical spectacle that brings joy and wonder to people of all ages. Whether you’re watching them from a safe distance or exploring the science behind their creation, there’s something undeniably captivating about these bursts of light in the night sky. So, the next time you find yourself gazing at a fireworks display, take a moment to appreciate the chemistry, artistry, and sheer wonder that goes into making these magnificent spectacles possible.

When playing the game, the number of players will determine how many Property markers you need to have on Fireworks Decoration spaces in order to receive Prestige Points. The player with the most Property markers will receive either 7 or 6 Prestige Points, depending on the number of players. The player with the second most markers will receive either 3 or 2 Prestige Points. If there is a tie for the most markers, the player who occupies the Fireworks Decoration space with the higher monetary value will win the tie.

In a 2-player game, things work a bit differently. Only the player with the most markers on Fireworks Decoration spaces will receive Prestige Points. The player with the second most markers will not receive any points.

Experience The Fireworks Spectacle From The Terrace

Hey there! I wanted to talk to you about a cool game called Fireworks Decoration. It’s a lot of fun, and I think you’ll really enjoy it. Let me explain how it works.

So, in Fireworks Decoration, there are these spaces where you can put your Property marker. You know, the thing that shows that a space belongs to you. Well, now you can also assign one of your Dresses from the King’s hall to these spaces. Just move the Dress to the dashed Terrace Guest space on the left side of the Fireworks Decoration space.

If you have fewer Dresses in the King’s hall than Property markers in the Fireworks, then some of the Terrace Guest spaces will be empty. And if you have more Dresses than Property markers, you have to choose which ones to assign. The rest of the Dresses will stay in the King’s hall.

Score Property Markers

Okay, let’s talk about how to earn Prestige Points in the game. It’s pretty simple, so don’t worry! First, we need to award the Prestige Points for Dresses, Decoration spaces, and the “All halls” bonus. To do this, we’ll go through a few steps.

We’ll start with the current Starting Player and remove their Property markers from the Game board one by one. Most of the Property markers have a Prestige Point value at the bottom right. We’ll add up these Prestige Points as we remove the markers.

Now, here’s where it gets interesting. When we remove a marker from a Dress on the Terrace, we multiply the Prestige Point value of that Dress by the multiplier to its right. The multipliers can be x2 or x3, so the points really add up here.

After we’ve removed all of the markers from the Starting Player’s properties, we’ll count up the total Prestige Points they earned. Then, we’ll move on to the next player in a clockwise direction and repeat the process.

Once we’ve gone through all the players and calculated their Prestige Points, it’s time for the final scoring. The player with the most Prestige Points at this point is the winner! Simple as that. But what happens if there’s a tie? Well, in that case, the tied player who has more money left is declared the winner.
