Once you have your question, it’s time to put your phone to the test. You’ll need to use your phone to find the answer, whether it’s searching the web or checking out a cool app. But be quick – you only have 30 seconds to find the answer!

When you think you’ve found the answer, bring your phone back to the group and share what you’ve found. The other players will determine if your answer is correct or not. If you get it right, you’ll earn points for your team. If not, well, better luck next time!

Now, here’s the twist – while you’re searching for the answer, the other players are playing cards to try and slow you down. These cards can add extra challenges to your search or even steal points from you. So keep an eye out and stay on your toes!

The game continues like this, with players taking turns and earning points for their team. The first team to reach the target score wins the game and gets to claim victory over their opponents.

When you open the Phone Phever box, you’ll find everything you need to start playing. Here are the components:

The Goal of the Game

Imagine this: a brand new, super awesome smartphone is about to be released today. It’s the talk of the town, and everyone wants it. But here’s the catch – there are only a limited number of these phones available.

You arrive at the mall and notice a long line of people waiting outside the Phone Phever store. But you’re determined not to leave without that phone in your hands.

You look at the others waiting in line and think to yourself, “I’ve got this. They don’t stand a chance against me. I’m smart, I know my stuff when it comes to smartphones, and I’m feeling lucky.”

Only a few dozen steps separate you from the smartphone of your dreams. It’s time to show everyone what you’re made of.

Getting Started

If there are more than eight players, you have the option to form teams or use other objects as additional game pieces. Fewer players and teams will make the game go faster.

First, find a flat surface to place the game board on. Then, separate the cards into three types: green Phever Challenge cards, red Phact or Phiction cards, and yellow Phun Phacts cards. Shuffle each deck of cards and put them within reach of all players. Make sure to keep all the cards facing down.

Note: You can also divide the 150 yellow Phun Phacts cards into six categories with 25 cards in each category:

Game Play

First, pick a game piece and place it at the MALL ENTRANCE on the game board.

I’m going to roll the die and move my game piece. Oh, before I forget, the youngest player gets to go first. Alright, let’s see how many steps I can take based on the number I rolled. Here I go!

So, if I land on a:

• Blue phone step, I have to do what the text message says. For example, it might tell me to move back 2 steps. Then, my turn is over, and it’s the next player’s turn. That would be the person sitting to my left. They’ll roll the die and we keep playing.
• Green phone step: First, I draw a green Phever challenge card from the top of the deck. I then read the challenge that matches the number on the die. For example, if I rolled a three, I would read challenge number three. Now, all of us players will try to win this challenge. To win, we have to use our smartphones. The player who wins the challenge gets to roll the die, and the game keeps going. Finally, I put the card at the bottom of the green deck.
• Red phone step: During this step, any player can pick a red Phact or Phiction card from the deck and read the question that matches the number rolled on the die. Only the player on the red phone step can attempt to answer the question, and they cannot use their smartphone. If they answer correctly, they roll the die again and the game continues. If they answer incorrectly, the player to their left rolls the die and the game continues. The card is then placed at the bottom of the red deck.

When it’s time to play the Yellow Phone step, I’ll draw a yellow Phun Phacts card from the deck and read the corresponding question based on the number rolled on the die. I won’t answer the question myself, but everyone else can use their smartphones to give it a shot. The first player who correctly answers the question gets to roll the die, and the game continues. Afterward, the card goes back to the bottom of the yellow deck.

Remember, you don’t have to use your smartphone to answer PHUN PHACTS questions. But if you do, and you get the answer wrong, you can’t suggest another answer until everyone else has had a chance to try.

If you land on a blue step:

• You have to follow the directions of the text message, and your turn ends.
• The player sitting to your left will then roll the die.

• You have to draw a Phever challenge card.
• You have to read the challenge that matches the number on the die.
• All players have to attempt the challenge.
• You must use your smartphone to complete the challenge.

• Any other player has to draw a Phact or Phiction card.
• A question that matches the number on the die will be read to the player on the red step only.

If I answer a question correctly while on the red step, I get to roll the die again. But if I answer incorrectly, then the player sitting to my left gets to roll the die. It’s important to note that we can’t use our smartphones during the game. We have to rely on our own knowledge and skills.

When it’s my turn to draw a card, I read the question that matches the number on the die. Everyone, except for me, tries to answer the question. And this time, we’re allowed to use our smartphones to help us find the answer.

Playing Phone Phever is a fun way to test our knowledge and learn new things. But we also need to remember that the game can be challenging and competitive. So let’s get ready to roll the die, answer some questions, and have a great time!

Game Over!

Guess what? The game ends when someone wins a Phever Challenge while inside the store!

As soon as a player steps foot in the store, they grab a card and check out the challenge. Everyone tries their best to win that challenge!

If the lucky player in the store wins the challenge, they’re the ultimate champion! But if they lose, no worries, they stay put and the game keeps on going.

By the way, every time a player in the store gets their hands on the die, they roll it and snag another challenge card. They read the challenge that matches the number on the die.

Then, all the players try their hardest to win the challenge. If the player in the store doesn’t succeed (and doesn’t win the game), they just have to stay inside the store and keep playing.

Note: If you’re playing inside the store, you can win the game by winning a Phever Challenge from a player outside of the store.

More Game Info

• Players can share spaces on the game board.
• Any number of players can enter and stay in the store.
• You don’t need to roll the exact number on the dice to enter the store. For example, if there are two spaces between you and the store, you just need to roll a three or higher.
• If there is a tie in a question or challenge, another card of the same type must be drawn and all players participate.
• If no player is able to complete a question or challenge, another card of the same type must be drawn and all players participate.

In the case of PHEVER CHALLENGES, if we don’t agree on who completed the challenge first or did it correctly, we have to draw another PHEVER CHALLENGE card.

To play again, we need to shuffle all three card decks and put them back where they were. Then, we put all the game pieces back to the MALL ENTRANCE position on the game board. Now we’re ready to play!
