The AI opponents will also be working towards building their own city. They’ll be making their moves based on their own set of rules, so you’ll never know what they’re up to. It’ll keep you on your toes, that’s for sure!
Each turn, you’ll have a few different actions to choose from. You can take mints, build a building, or use a building’s ability. It’s up to you to decide the best course of action based on your current situation and the opponents’ moves.
As you play, you’ll need to keep an eye on your opponent’s progress. They might be getting close to completing their city, and you’ll need to act fast to keep up. You’ll also want to keep an eye on the available cards and mints, as they can make a big difference in your strategy.

Once you’ve got everything ready, the play area should look something like the diagram above.
Getting Set Up
Pick one of the four AIs to be your opponent.
Put the four Core Locations and two Deed Locations in a line on the table, with the ‘one player’ or ‘closed’ sides showing. Arrange them in this order: Producer, Wholesaler, Builder, and Supplier. The Leadership Council and Lotto go at the end.
Optional: Randomly choose one Advanced Location and place it after the Lotto.
Shuffle all the Plans and make a face-down stack near the Locations to create the Plan Deck.
Draw two Plans from the Plan Deck and place them face up next to it. These are the Plan Supply.
Place the Mint Tokens next to the Plan Supply to create the Mint Supply.
Hey there! Did you know that when you’re picking out a new place to live, it’s not just about the neighborhood – it’s also about the people in it? Yep, the folks you’ll be living close to can have a big impact on your happiness. That’s why it’s important to consider the concept known as “neighborhood personality.”
So, what exactly is neighborhood personality? Well, it’s all about the vibe or feel of the area. Every neighborhood has its unique character, shaped by the people who live there, the local businesses, and the overall atmosphere. It’s kind of like a secret ingredient that makes each place special.
Now you might be wondering, why should I care about the personality of a neighborhood? Good question! The thing is, neighborhood personality can play a big role in how at home you feel in a new place. You want to find a neighborhood that aligns with your own personality and values, so you can really settle in and thrive.
Picture this: You’re a social butterfly, always looking to make new friends and join community events. But if you end up in a neighborhood where everyone keeps to themselves and there’s not much going on, well, it might not be the best fit for you. On the other hand, if you’re more of an introvert who values peace and quiet, you might not enjoy a neighborhood with constant hustle and bustle.
Understanding the personality of a neighborhood can also help you predict what kind of experiences you might have there. For example, if you’re in a neighborhood known for its artsy vibe, you can expect to find cool galleries and trendy cafes. Or if you’re in a family-oriented neighborhood, you can bet there will be lots of parks and kid-friendly activities.
It’s all about finding that perfect match between you and your neighborhood. So, when you’re on the hunt for a new place to call home, don’t just focus on the physical attributes like the size of the house or the number of bedrooms. Take a moment to think about what kind of neighborhood personality you’re looking for. Trust me, it can make a world of difference in how happy you are in your new home.
With these factors in mind, you’re well on your way to finding the neighborhood that’s a perfect fit for you. Happy searching!
When you play an AI Card during your turn, you have the chance to gain valuable benefits. The AI Card empowers you by granting you a Starting Mint Token Share equal to that of your opponent’s. This means that if your opponent has a higher Mint Token Share than you, you will receive additional tokens to level the playing field and improve your chances of success.
AI Card: A Game Changer
The AI Card is a game-changing element that can significantly impact the outcome of your gameplay. It is important to understand the power and significance of this card and how it can elevate your strategy.
By playing an AI Card, you have the opportunity to regenerate your response and take control of the game. It’s like having an extra chance to make a move and outwit your opponent. With the AI Card in your hand, you’ll have the upper hand and the ability to turn the tide in your favor.
However, it’s important to note that the AI Card is a double-edged sword. While it can provide you with advantages, it can also be used against you by your opponent. This adds an element of unpredictability and strategy to the game, making every move crucial and exciting.
Overall, the AI Card is a key component of the game that can completely change the course of the gameplay. It offers an opportunity for strategic thinking, adaptability, and seizing the advantage. So, if you like to stay one step ahead and have the power to reshape the game, then you’ll love the AI Card.
With these factors in mind, choosing the right time to play an AI Card is crucial. It’s important to analyze the current state of the game, anticipate your opponent’s moves, and make a calculated decision. By following these guidelines, you’ll be able to harness the full potential of the AI Card and maximize your chances of victory.
Specific Rules
Hey there! Let’s talk about the specific rules for playing Mint Works in solitaire mode. Now, most of the rules are the same as the standard game, but there are a few exceptions you need to keep in mind:
So, remember when you take a Plan from the Supplier? Well, if you don’t replace it with another effect right away, you’ve got to immediately grab one from the Plan Deck and put it in its place.
Now, when the AI (that’s the computer-controlled player) decides to do the Place action, it’s always going to choose the first available Mint Placement Space in the Location line. And it starts with the Producer, okay?
But let’s say the poor AI can’t use any of the Locations for some reason. Well, in that case, it’ll just have to go with the Pass action. Tough luck!
When I place AI on the Mint Placement Space, I need to make sure I have enough Mints from the AI’s supply.
During the Upkeep phase, if there are no Mints left on the Supplier, I return all Mints to the Mint Supply. Then, I take the two oldest Plans from the Plan Supply and put them at the bottom of the Plan Deck. After that, I replace them with two new Plans.
The AI always builds the oldest Plan in its Neighborhood first.
The AI buys Plans based on their Supplier Priority. First, it checks the Cost of available Plans. If there is a tie, it then checks the Type of Plan. If there is still a tie, it will buy the Plan closest to the Plan Deck. It only considers Plans that the AI can currently afford.
