Marry, Date or Dump? Game Rules
Ready to play an exciting game that will test your decision-making skills and reveal your romantic preferences? Look no further than Marry, Date or Dump! In this game, you’ll be presented with three options, and it’ll be up to you to choose which one you would want to marry, which one you would want to go on a date with, and which one you would want to dump.
To get started, you don’t need much – just your imagination and a willingness to think on your feet. But remember, choosing between these options can be tougher than it seems! Each option comes with its own unique characteristics and quirks, so you’ll have to think carefully before making your decision.
Here’s how the game works: you’ll be given three choices, usually three people, and you’ll need to assign each of them a role – marry, date, or dump. Once you’ve made your decision, you can share it with your friends or keep it to yourself. The game is a great way to learn more about your preferences and discover what kind of person you are attracted to.
But be cautious – the game can reveal surprising things about yourself and others! Your choices may reflect your values, interests, or even your fantasies. It’s all part of the fun and excitement of Marry, Date or Dump!
So, are you ready to give it a go? Grab your friends, get your imagination ready, and let the game begin. Prepare to make some tough decisions and explore your romantic side. Remember, it’s just a game, but you might be surprised by what you discover about yourself along the way. Have fun!
Note: Marry, Date or Dump is a fictional game and should be played with respect and empathy. It’s important to remember that the game is for entertainment purposes only and should not be used to judge or hurt others.
- There are 396 cards in a box for you to use.
- Included are 6 writing cards.
- You will also find an answer pad.
- Don’t forget the label sheet.
- There’s a die as well.
- And lastly, a card divider.
- Instructions are provided.
Putting the Pieces Together
Begin by tearing the parts sheet away from the instructions.
Gently remove the card divider from the parts sheet. Get rid of any leftover cardboard that might be left behind. Take the labels from the sheet and stick them onto the die. It doesn’t matter which label goes on each side, as long as both sides have one and they’re somewhat straight. Once you’re done, toss the used label sheet away.
Let’s Get Started
- First things first, you’re gonna need to find something to write with.
- Now, grab those cards and split them into two groups: one for the ladies (the green deck) and one for the fellas (the blue deck). Stuff those decks into the card box, making sure that the backs of the cards are facing each other. Oh, and don’t forget to slide the card divider right between the two decks.
Important: Before closing the card box, make sure to remove the card divider between the two decks.
Let’s Start Playing
A. Choose a Category Group
Begin your turn by rolling the die. The result will determine which category group you will be using.
There are different category groups, such as:
Green
Marry
Have you ever thought about who you would want to spend the rest of your life with? I mean, who you can imagine waking up next to and dealing with the everyday stuff like paying bills? It’s a big decision, isn’t it?
The Person I Want to Date
Now, let’s talk about someone you would want to “date”. I’m not talking about a serious commitment here. I’m just talking about someone you want to have fun with, go on adventures, and spend quality time together.
The Person I Want to Dump
Red Flag Alert!
Lastly, let’s not forget about the person you definitely want to get rid of. Yup, your “dump” category. This person might be bad news, maybe they have some red flags you’ve noticed, or they just don’t align with what you want in a partner. It’s important to trust your gut and prioritize your happiness.
The Person I Want to Marry
Out of all of these people, there might be one special person who stands out from the rest. The one you can see yourself marrying someday. This person is someone you trust, love, and want to build a life with. They are your partner in crime, your best friend, and your rock.
So, take a moment to think about who you would want to spend your life with, who you want to date, who you want to dump, and who you want to marry. Your decisions have the power to shape your future and lead to a lifetime of happiness.
Have you ever thought about who you would want in different areas of your life? Let’s imagine some scenarios and see who you would choose. Ready?
Who would you trust with your life in the operating room? A surgeon.
Who would you like to go out with for a good time, someone to hit the nightlife with? A party partner.
Who would you want to be your roommate, someone who will pay rent on time and be easy to live with? A housemate.
Who would you want for a mom or dad? A parent.
Who would you want for a brother or sister, someone you could count on? A sibling.
Who would you choose to have as a cousin? A cousin.
Now let’s get organized. Make sure your category group is on top and put your answer sheet on the card.
Step B: Draw a card and rank the names
The player who rolled the die should choose a card from the box. Feel free to pick from any deck you prefer.
If you don’t recognize the names on the cards, don’t worry. Just ask the other players for some clues. Once you’ve figured out who everyone is, it’s time to rank them.
For instance, if you rolled the category group Marry, Date, or Dump, you’ll need to decide who you want to marry, who you want to date, and who you want to dump.
Write these names secretly on your answer sheet under the appropriate headings.
At the same time, the other players will write down what they think you will write down on their answer sheets. But remember, this game is all about you, not them.
So, here’s what happens: we all write down our answers. Then, the big moment comes when we reveal who we married, who we dated, and who we dumped.
And now, let’s talk about scoring
Okay, let’s get into the points. If it’s your turn, you get 2 points for each person who matched your exact list. That means they put down the same names under each category. As for everyone else, they get 1 point for each correct match they made. So, that means they can end up with 0, 1, or 3 points. Trust me, there’s no way they can score 2 points.
Imagine there are 5 players. Here’s how it works: two players match their answers perfectly, so they both get 3 points. You, on the other hand, score a little better – you get 4 points because you match with both of them. One player only gets 1 answer right, so she gets 1 point.
Then, there’s that one player who gets everything wrong, meaning they don’t get any points. After everyone scores their answers, put your card at the back of the deck in the box.
Next Up
Once you’ve scored your points, it’s the next player’s turn. Pass the die to the player on your left, and they roll to determine the new category. Then, they draw a new card and the game continues as before.
The End
The game is finished once every player has taken their turn twice. The player with the highest score wins the game.
