Playing Majesty: For the Realm Alone
Hey there! So, you know about Majesty: For the Realm, right? It’s this totally awesome game where a young suitor is trying to get your important characters to come to his kingdom and bring back as much gold as they can. Sounds pretty cool, huh? Well, get this – now there’s a way for you to play solo! Yep, you heard me right. You can dive into the world of Majesty all by yourself.
Now, when you play this solo version of Majesty, your goal is to be crowned the winner. How do you do that, you ask? Easy peasy. Just make sure you collect as much gold as you can while keeping that shiny crown on your head. It’s all about strategy and making the right choices.
Setting Up
Let’s start by getting everything ready. Place the 8 location cards in front of you, making sure the numbers from 1 to 8 are visible. Below the location cards, you’ll place your character cards, and above them, you’ll place the character cards of the young suitor.
Next, it’s time to set up the characters. Take 8 random green-back character cards and arrange them face-up from left to right. Then, take the full deck of red-faced character cards and place it face-down on the right side of the 8th card.
Hey there! If you’re interested in playing a fun game, I’ve got a great one for you. It’s called “The Young Suitor.” Let me explain how it works.
To start, you’ll need a deck of 16 location cards. These cards have two faces – A and B. Make sure to shuffle the deck well!
Game Play
When it’s your turn, follow the regular rules for characters, but here’s a twist – instead of having five Meeples, you’ll have seven. And guess what? The young contender goes first!
Now, here’s where it gets interesting. To choose a character from the population, you need to read the cards from your deck. Each card will give you some clues about the character you can pick. How cool is that?
Let’s make sure that the young pretender keeps everyone guessing. To do that, we’ll throw away the first location card and instead use the number on the second location card to find the right character card. This way, nobody will know for sure which character card the young pretender has chosen. Isn’t that a clever way to keep things mysterious?
Let’s say you’re playing a game with a location map numbered 4A. In that case, you’ll grab the character card in the fourth spot (with double cards, A represents the top character, while B represents the bottom character).
In the next round, you’ll discard the second location card and read the third one. Each turn, you’ll increase that count. Make sure to replenish the stack when needed.
As the young suitor, my job is not to place Meeples or collect the ones depicted on the location cards. Instead, I’ll simply discard any Meeples shown on the character cards.
When does the game end?
The game comes to an end when the last red-backed card is revealed, and the player completes their action.
Now it’s time to tally up the scores according to the rules.
