Lucidity Solo Rules
Introduction
Welcome to Lucidity Solo! This is an exciting game that allows you to explore the world of dreams and uncover hidden treasures. In this guide, I will provide you with the rules and instructions for playing Lucidity Solo, so you can embark on your own dream adventure.
Setting Up
To start playing Lucidity Solo, you’ll need the game board, the dream cards, and the adventure cards. First, place the game board in the center of your playing area. Then, shuffle the dream cards and place them facedown in a pile next to the board. Lastly, shuffle the adventure cards and place them facedown in a separate pile next to the dream cards.
Gameplay
In Lucidity Solo, your goal is to collect as many dream shards as possible. On your turn, you will draw a dream card and an adventure card. The dream card will reveal a dream, while the adventure card will present a challenge or opportunity.
To resolve the adventure card, follow the instructions on the card. This could involve rolling dice, making choices, or using special abilities. The outcome of the adventure will determine the rewards or consequences you receive.
After resolving the adventure card, you have the option to collect dream shards by fulfilling the requirements of the dream card. This could involve finding certain items, visiting specific locations, or making specific choices. If you successfully complete the dream, you will earn dream shards.
Winning the Game
The game ends when all dream cards have been drawn. To determine your score, add up the number of dream shards you have collected throughout the game. The player with the most dream shards is the winner.
Tips and Strategies
Here are some tips and strategies to help you succeed in Lucidity Solo:
1. Manage your resources wisely. Keep track of your dream shards and use them strategically to enhance your abilities or overcome challenges.
2. Plan ahead. Take a moment to assess the requirements of the dream cards before embarking on an adventure. This will help you make more informed decisions and increase your chances of success.

I’m here for one thing – power, riches, and sweet sweet revenge. I’m going to infiltrate the nightmare realm ruled by the Lords of Nightmare, also known as the Bogeymen. And I’m going to make out with all their treasures, completely unharmed.
Getting Started
Each Dreamer card has a hidden secret on its back – it’s one of four Bogeyman cards. Each Bogeyman has unique rules and presents a different challenge. To set up the game, grab an unused Dreamer card and flip it to reveal its Bogeyman side (marked with the word “Spooks” in the top-right corner). Place it right above your Dreamer card.
Remember: We call the dreams in the Spooks rows “Spooks”.
Creatures of Nightmare
In the Spooks row of the Bogeyman card, there are two columns called “Spooks” (three on the Lord of the Depths card). These are the Spooks rows. To start a game, I randomly draw dreams from the bag and place them one by one into the Spooks row from bottom to top. I make sure to put them with the correct side facing up as indicated on each Spooks space. Once all the rows are filled, the game begins.
Turn Order (Single Player Variant)
A turn in this variant is the same as in the multiplayer game. You draw, return, roll, resolve, then rest or dream again, with the following changes: Winning the Game: To win, you need to collect either 15 Power or, after the last Spook is moved to your Dreamer card, you must have at least two Power for each Nightmare that has Awakened (see below; this Power can be of any color). Awakening Nightmares: You can’t turn into a Nightmare. Instead, if four spaces of any Shadow row are filled when you check for filled rows, return all dreams in that row to the bag. Then take the matching Nightmare and place it above the Bogeyman card. That Nightmare is now “Awakened”. During the “Draw and Select Dreams” step of your turn, you can never return dreams of an Awakened Nightmare’s color to the bag (even if that means returning less than two dreams). If the matching Nightmare was already Awakened, you lose the game. Shadows of Envy: Since there’s no “next player”, when you resolve a of Envy, you must instead reroll the first dream in your Power row. Resting: Whenever you choose (or are forced) to Rest, you must move two Spooks from the bottom Spooks row onto your Dreamer card. Put them in the row that matches their face; for example, if they show a
face, they must go to your Shadow row. These Spooks are not “resolved” (they are moved), so they don’t activate
effects.
Note: The Lord of the Depths has three Spooks in each row. You should try to move two Spooks onto your card, and any extra Spooks should be put back in the bag.
Rerolling Spooks:
Winning is all about rerolling your Spooks to get rid of them before they end up on your Dreamer card. Here’s how you can reroll your Spooks:
- Pick a color and spend one or two cubes of that color (putting them in the bag).
- Select any number of adjacent Spooks of that color to pick up. Remember, diagonal Spooks are not considered adjacent.
- You have the option to not pick up a Spook. For example, if it shows a face you don’t want, you can choose to leave it. However, if you do so, you cannot use it to pick up adjacent Spooks of the same color.
- Roll all of the collected Spooks. You cannot reroll them using Power.
- Return any
and
that were rolled to the bag.
- Put any
,
, and
that were rolled back into the Spooks rows. Fill the gaps from bottom to top and keep them on the same face that they rolled on. For example, if you roll a Spook and it lands on
, you must return it to the Spooks rows with the
side facing up.
So, here’s what you gotta do: rearrange those Spooks! Here’s how it goes:
- If there’s any gaps in the Spooks row, you move all the Spooks down until there’s none left.
Now, the fun part: you can reroll the Spooks as many times as you want. But each time, you gotta pay up and follow all the steps I just mentioned. Oh, but remember: you can only reroll Spooks after you’ve done the “Roll and Resolve Dreams” part of your turn.
Hard Mode
Hey there! Let me tell you about something exciting called “Hard Mode.” It’s a special feature that’s available for each Bogeyman. If you’re looking for an extra challenge, this is perfect for you!
Now, let me explain how it works. At the bottom, right in the middle, you’ll see a paragraph that starts with “HARD.” This is where the fun begins. When you activate “Hard Mode,” it adds even more difficulty to the game, making it tougher and more thrilling.
Imagine facing a Bogeyman that’s already quite challenging, but now they become even trickier to defeat. It’s like taking your skills to the next level and pushing your abilities to the max. This way, you won’t get bored easily, and you’ll feel a sense of accomplishment when you finally conquer the game.
So, if you’re up for a real test of your courage and strategy, give “Hard Mode” a try. It’s the perfect way to spice up your gaming experience and showcase your mastery. Are you ready to take on the challenge? I believe in you!
