Welcome to the Lords of Xidit Game Rules!

Hi there! I’m here to walk you through the rules of the exciting game called Lords of Xidit. This game is all about strategizing, planning, and outsmarting your opponents to become the most powerful lord in the land. Are you ready?

Basic Gameplay

In the world of Xidit, you and your opponents take on the role of lords, each with your own band of fantasy creatures at your disposal. Your goal is to recruit these creatures, navigate the lands of Xidit, and earn the most prestige points to claim victory.

Now, let’s talk about how the game is played. Each round is divided into several phases: Planning, Action, and Scoring.

Planning Phase

In the Planning phase, you’ll secretly choose your actions for the round. You can select one of the six available actions:

  1. Recruit: Hire creatures to join your army.
  2. Move: Travel across the lands to claim rewards.
  3. Fight: Engage in battles with other lords or monsters.
  4. Draw Bard: Benefit from his special powers.
  5. Take Gold: Collect gold to fund your adventures.
  6. Rest: Recover and prepare for the next round.

Make sure to think carefully about your choices and anticipate the moves of your opponents. Strategy is key!

Action Phase

Once the Planning phase is complete, the Action phase begins. All players will take turns revealing and resolving their chosen actions. This is where the real fun begins!

For example, if you chose to recruit creatures, you’ll take turns hiring creatures from the market. Each creature has its own unique abilities and strengths, so choose wisely. Maybe you’ll recruit a mighty dragon to bolster your army or a cunning wizard who can cast powerful spells.

Remember, you’re not alone in this game. Your opponents will also be taking actions, so be prepared for unexpected encounters and rivalries!

Scoring Phase

After everyone has taken their actions, it’s time to tally up the points. You’ll earn prestige points for various achievements, such as defeating monsters, owning territories, and having a well-rounded army. The player with the most prestige points at the end of the game is crowned the ultimate lord of Xidit!

Well, there you have it! The basics of the Lords of Xidit game. It’s a thrilling and strategic adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned gamer, this game offers excitement and challenge for all.

Scrabble: A Game Board

I love Scrabble. It’s the perfect game for word enthusiasts like me. Let me tell you why.

First, the game board. You’ll find a lot of joy in this simple yet captivating board. It’s like a blank canvas, waiting to be filled with letters and words. The neatly arranged squares make it easy for you to place your tiles strategically.

Speaking of tiles, you’ll find 100 letter tiles in the game. These little rectangles hold the power to create endless combinations of words. No two games are the same, and that’s what makes every round so exciting!

You might think that Scrabble is just about making words, but it’s more than that. It’s about finding the right words to maximize your points. It’s about playing with strategy and skill, weighing your options before you place each tile.

The game also comes with a nifty little letter bag. It’s like a lucky dip! You never know which letters you’ll get, and that adds an element of surprise to the game. It keeps you on your toes, always thinking about the best way to use the letters you have.

If you consider yourself a wordsmith, Scrabble is a game made for you. It challenges your vocabulary, stretches your brain, and showcases your language skills. It’s a game that never gets old, always giving you a chance to learn and improve.

So, if you’re looking for a game that combines excitement, strategy, and language, Scrabble is the game for you. Grab a board, gather your friends, and let the words fly!

Cities: There are 21 cities in total, each numbered from 1 to 21. During the game, you have the opportunity to gather units in some of these cities. However, be aware that certain cities require units in order to deal with threats and challenges.

Roads: There are three different colored roads in the kingdom of Xidit: black, red, and blue. These roads connect the cities and allow you to move freely throughout the kingdom, exploring different areas and embarking on new adventures.

Nine Regions: The kingdom is divided into nine regions, which are separated by the roads. As you perform great deeds and make a name for yourself, the news of your accomplishments spreads throughout the kingdom. Bard tokens are placed in these regions to represent your growing reputation. In the central region, however, the bard tokens are placed secretly within the stronghold. Each region has a lyre symbol and two associated values that signify the reputation boost that players will receive at the end of the game if they have placed the most bard tokens in that region.

The Path of Destiny: The Path of Destiny is divided into two parts. On the left side is the Recruitment Queue, and on the right side is the Threat Queue. The Threat Queue also has a discard pile for Recruitment tiles, and the Recruitment Queue has a discard pile for Threat tiles. Both queues play a crucial role in the game.

The Barracks: The Barracks is where any unused Units are kept. These Units can be deployed later in the game when needed.

The Royal Bank: The Royal Bank is where any unused Gold Sovereigns are stored. You can accumulate Gold Sovereigns throughout the game, and they can be used to purchase valuable items and resources.

“The Hall of Fame”: The Hall of Fame is an important feature in the game. It is used during the three assessments that determine the winner at the end of the game. Your performance in these assessments will determine your overall success and standing in the Kingdom.

The Score Track: The Score Track keeps track of each player’s Wealth, level of Influence with the magical community, and Reputation across the Kingdom. These factors are important in the three assessments that take place at the end of the game, as they determine the final winner.

Titans’ Lair: The Titans’ Lair is where the six Slumbering Titan tiles are placed at the beginning of the game. These powerful beings can be awakened and harnessed to aid you in your journey. Use them wisely.

I love playing the game called Calendar. There are two versions of the game: a long one with 12 turns and a short one with 9 turns. The current turn is indicated by the Year wooden token, which we call the Game Year. Every four Game Years, we have a Military Census.

Let me guide you through the setup for the long version of the game. If you’re playing the short version or the three-player version, you can find the changes described elsewhere.

First, each player needs to choose a color and gather their materials. You’ll need 1 Screen, 1 Idrakys cutout with its base, 1 Programming Board, 20 Bard tokens (keep them hidden behind your Screen), 3 Score tokens, 15 Sorcerers’ Guild Story tokens of the same color, and 1 Order token.

Next, place the Game Board in the middle of the table. Make sure to put the Year marker on the first square of the Calendar printed on the Game Board.

That’s the setup! Now you’re ready to begin your Calendar adventure. Have fun!

Here’s how to set up the game of Lords of Xidit:

1. Set up the Bastion in the central Region.

[Image: “how-to-play-lords-of-xidit-official-rules_1.jpeg”]

2. Put the 70 Units in the Barracks and place the Gold Sovereign tokens in the Royal Bank.

3. Each player’s Score tokens should be placed near the Hall of Fame.

4. Place the Slumbering Titan tiles on the Titans’ Lair. Randomly place the two tiles marked with 3 ? symbols in the designated location. Do the same for the tiles marked with 4 and 5 ?.

[Image: “how-to-play-lords-of-xidit-official-rules_3.jpeg”]

If you’re playing with four or five players, use City tiles numbered 1 to 21.

It’s worth noting that City tiles are called Recruitment tiles when placed with the Recruitment side up (1), and they’re called Threat tiles when placed with the Threat side up (2).

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

Alright, here’s what you need to do:

First, mix up all the City tiles and divide them into two piles, making sure to do it randomly.

Next, take one of the piles and put the five tiles on the Game Board, one at a time, on their corresponding Cities. You’ll see the City numbers on these tiles.

After that, get five Units – Peasant Militia, Archers, Infantry, Clerics, and Battle Mages. Make sure that these Units match the symbols on the Recruitment tile.

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

Alright, let’s get started! Grab the second set of City tiles. Take those five tiles and place them, with the Threat side facing up, onto the matching Cities on the Game Board. (You’ll see numbers on these tiles that indicate which City they belong to.)

Now, the Game Board should have five Cities, each with a Recruitment tile and five Units, and another set of five Cities, each with a Threat tile.

Next, take the rest of the City tiles and mix them up. Choose five random tiles and put them, with the Recruitment side facing up, in the Recruitment pile space on the Game Board. This becomes what we call “Recruitment pile 1”.

Finally, take the remaining tiles and stack them up with the Threat side facing up in the Threat pile space on the Game Board. This is now the “Threat pile 2”.

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

Let me explain how the Recruitment Queue and Threat Queue work. It’s pretty simple, actually.

The Recruitment Queue has two parts: the Recruitment pile and the Next Recruitment tile space. The Threat Queue also has two parts: the Threat pile and the Next Threat tile space.

So here’s what you do. First, take the top tile from the Recruitment pile and put it on the Next Recruitment tile space. This tile is now the Next Recruitment tile. Then, do the same thing with the Threat pile. Take the top tile and place it on the Next Threat tile space. This tile becomes the Next Threat tile.

And that’s it! It’s a straightforward process for keeping track of the Recruitment and Threat options.

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

The Next Recruitment tile and Next Threat tile are important indicators of which Recruitment and Threat tiles will come next in the Cities. They give you a sneak peek into what’s coming up. These tiles are followed by the top tiles in the Recruitment and Threat piles, so you can plan your moves accordingly.

To set up the game, grab the three Assessment tiles and place them randomly in the Hall of Fame. This adds an element of surprise and unpredictability to the game. If you’re playing with four players, make sure all the tiles show the number 1 on the back. For a five-player game, the first tile should have the number 2 showing on the back, while the rest of the tiles should show the number 1. This ensures a fair and balanced game for everyone.

By following these setup instructions, you’ll have a clear understanding of what’s to come and be ready to tackle any challenges that arise. So get ready, strategize, and may the best player win!

Alright, here’s what you need to do:

First things first, the oldest player gets the First Player token. Easy enough, right?

Now, it’s time to place your Idrakys. Starting with the First Player and going around the table in a clockwise direction, each player chooses a City to put their Idrakys in. Keep in mind, though, that you can’t put your Idrakys in a City that already has one. But don’t worry, this restriction only applies to the initial placement.

Once everyone has placed their Idrakys, it’s time to dive into the game!

Game Play

The game is split into 12 Game Years. So get ready for some epic adventures!

Now, in each Game Year, you’ll issue six Orders to your Idrakys. These Orders give your Idrakys instructions on what to do. You can tell them to move, recruit brave soldiers, or even take down a threat that’s threatening a City. And let me tell you, doing so will earn you some awesome rewards from the local lord.

When you wipe out a threat in the game, you get to pick two out of three bonuses: increase your Wealth, boost your Reputation, or enhance your Influence with the magical community.

When the game ends, we look at these three things one by one and eliminate players until only one is left – the “Savior of the Kingdom” whose name will be remembered forever.

Step One: Secret Orders

In this step, you use your Programming Board to plan six Orders for your Idrakys in the current Game Year. Everyone does this at the same time, keeping their Orders secret.

These Programming Boards have six Programming Wheels, each with five icons. To give commands, start with the leftmost wheel and move to the right, using all six wheels.

When controlling their Idrakys, players have four types of orders they can give:

1. Move: Select one of the three Road icons to move your Idraky.

2. Recruit: Choose the Action icon to recruit a Unit from a City that has a Recruitment tile.

3. Eliminate: Use the Action icon to remove a threat from a City that has a Threat tile.

  • Wait, by clicking on the Wait icon How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess.
  • How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

So here’s what I did – I just finished programming my Orders for the first Game Year. My first Order is to move my Idrakys 1; my second is to perform an action in a City 2; my third order is to move my Idrakys 3; my fourth, to wait 4; my fifth, to perform an action in a City 5; and finally, to move my Idrakys 6.

    Now Comes Order Resolution

Once all the players are done programming their Orders for the Game Year, we reveal our Programming Boards. Then, it’s time to execute the programmed orders. We start with the First Player and go around, each player taking turns to execute their first programmed Order.

After that, we move on to the remaining five Orders. The First Player goes first, followed by the player on their left, and so on, until the last player has played their sixth Order.

The Order token has an important purpose in our game. It helps you remember the last action you took. When you perform an action, you place the Order token over it on your Programming Board to show that it’s been done.

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

I just executed my second Order and covered it with my Order token on my Programming Board.

    Let’s Move The Idrakys

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

If you picked one of the three Road icons on your Programming Wheel, you have to move your Idrakys to a neighboring City along the Road of the chosen color. Remember, you have to do all the programmed movements.

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

When I’m playing the game, I have my own special creatures called Idrakys. It’s like having a whole world to explore. One time, I wanted to move my Idrakys from City number 5 to City number 12, so I clicked on the Road icon. The Road shown on the map was blue, so that’s the path I chose for my Idrakys to travel.

    Hire a New Team Member

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

If you choose the Action icon on your Programming Wheel, you’ll need to recruit a Unit if your Idrakys is in a City with a Recruitment tile. Take the newly recruited Unit out of the City and put it behind your Screen.

There are five types of Units with varying strengths. The weakest are Peasant Militia, followed by Archers X, Infantry Clerics, and the most powerful, Battle Mages.

When recruiting Units, remember these two rules:

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

    • When I’m playing the game, I always make sure to recruit the weakest Unit available in the City.
    • You can only recruit one Unit per Game Year in a specific City. So, if you give multiple orders to your Idrakys in a City with multiple Units, you’ll only recruit one Unit at a time, as soon as you can carry out your order.

Hello there! I’m Stephanie, and I want to tell you about my latest adventure. I’m in City no. 5, and guess what? I’m recruiting a new team! But here’s the catch – I have to pick the least powerful unit available on the Recruitment tile.

Hey, listen up: The unit I get might not be the one I had in mind, but rules are rules, and I have to take it no matter what.

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

Note: If you no longer see the Recruitment tile in a City, the Action order does not matter when you take your action (unless you are eliminating a Raging Titan).

    Get Rid of a Danger

Sometimes, when I’m playing a game, there may be a problem that needs to be dealt with right away. In Papaya, those problems are called Threats, and taking care of them is a crucial part of the game. There are a few steps that you need to follow to eliminate a Threat, so let me break it down for you!

First things first, you need to identify the Threat that you want to eliminate. Look for the Recruitment tile in the City where the Threat is located. This tile will show all the information you need to know about the Threat, such as its type and strength. Take a careful look at all the details so you can come up with a strategy to defeat it.

Next, you need to decide which Heroes you want to use to eliminate the Threat. Heroes have different abilities and strengths, so choose wisely. You can check the Hero cards to see what they are good at and how they can help you in your battle against the Threat.

Once you have chosen your Heroes, it’s time to take action! Use the Action order to determine when you can perform your action. However, there is one important exception: if the Recruitment tile is no longer present in the City, the Action order doesn’t matter anymore, except when you are dealing with a particularly dangerous enemy called a Raging Titan.

When it’s your turn to act, go ahead and eliminate the Threat! Use your chosen Heroes according to their abilities and try to defeat the Threat as quickly as possible. Remember, time is of the essence in Papaya, so don’t waste any!

Finally, take a moment to evaluate your victory. Look at the rewards you have gained for eliminating the Threat. These rewards can include Victory Points, Resources, or even new Hero cards. Celebrate your success and use these rewards to further your progress in the game.

Remember, eliminating Threats is a continuous part of playing Papaya. As you progress through the game, you will face more and more challenges. But don’t worry, with the right strategy and a little bit of luck, you can conquer any Threat that comes your way!

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

If you chose the Action icon on your Programming Wheel, you have the power to get rid of a dangerous situation in a City. To do this, your Idrakys must be in a City that has a Threat tile, and you need to have the right Units behind your Screen.

    Dangerous Situations

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

Here’s what you need to know about Threat tiles:

    1. There are unfriendly creatures moving about the City’s vicinity.

    2. You must use specific Units to defend against the threat.

    3. The lord of the City offers three different rewards to the player who frees the City.

    Gather the Required Units

To get rid of a threat, you need to gather all the Units mentioned on the Threat tile. Take the Units from behind your screen, show them to everyone, and then return them to the Barracks. Completing the task earns you a reward from the lord of the City.

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

Imagine this: I am Alex, the game master of a fantasy game. As I sit behind my screen, I unveil two powerful characters to the players – an Archer and a Battle Mage. These units are crucial for the city’s survival, as they possess the skills needed to vanquish the impending danger.

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

Important: There are certain conditions under which an Action Order can be cancelled:

    • If the City no longer has a Threat tile when I take my action (unless I’m eliminating a Raging Titan).
    • If I don’t have the necessary Units behind my Screen to eliminate the threat.

Once I successfully perform my Action, I have the freedom to choose my rewards.

    Three Types of Rewards

I get to pick two out of the three available rewards.

City lords have three types of rewards for players like me who successfully defend against a threat. These rewards are represented by the symbols How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess, How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess, and How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess on the Threat tile.

How to Get Gold Sovereign Tokens How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess:

Hey there! Want to know how to get Gold Sovereign tokens? I’ve got you covered!

First off, let me tell you a bit about these tokens. Gold Sovereign tokens are super valuable in the game, and you can collect them by following a simple rule.

Whenever you come across a Threat tile, take a look at the number of Gold Sovereign tokens with a value of 1 indicated on it. Then, head over to the Royal Bank and grab that many tokens.

Remember, keep those tokens a secret! Hide them behind your Screen until the game is over. You don’t want your opponents knowing how rich you are!

Now, let’s talk about making change. This can be a handy trick during the game. You can exchange five coins of value 1 for one coin of value 5. It’s like magic!

At the end of the game, these Gold Sovereign tokens will come in handy. They are used to determine how wealthy each player is. The more tokens you have, the richer you are!

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

If I decide to choose Gold Sovereigns as one of my two rewards for getting rid of a threat, I’ll receive five Gold Sovereigns, just like it’s shown on the Threat tile.

Put Bard Tokens How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

I take the Bard tokens (of the right color) that are indicated on the Threat tile and place them in one or more Regions that are next to my Idrakys. In the central Region, Bard tokens are always placed secretly inside the Bastion.

I use the Bard tokens at the end of the game to figure out how respected I am throughout the Kingdom.

Remember: I can’t pick this reward if I’ve already placed all of my Bard tokens.

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

For one of my rewards, I’ve asked the local lord to send Bards to sing my praises in the neighboring Regions. I can put four tokens in Regions next to my Idrakys, just like it shows on the Threat tile. If I want, I can even put some Bard tokens in the central Region, but they’ll stay hidden until the game ends.

Create Tales for the Sorcerers’ Guild How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

When you play the game, you will need to take into account the number of Sorcerers’ Guild Stories displayed on the Threat tile. You should place these stories next to the City on the space with the symbol.

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

Let’s talk about the rules for Sorcerers’ Guilds. There are a few important things to keep in mind when it comes to these magical structures. First of all, Sorcerers’ Guilds cannot be more than four stories tall. Yes, that’s the limit. We don’t want any super tall guilds overshadowing everything else in the city.

There’s also a rule that states each city can only have one Sorcerers’ Guild. Why is this important? Well, it ensures that there’s a balance of power and influence among the different cities. We don’t want one city to have an unfair advantage, right?

But what if you want to increase the number of stories in a Sorcerers’ Guild that’s already been built by your Idrakys? Well, you can do that by eliminating another threat. It’s like a trade-off. You get more stories, but you have to deal with another problem. Just remember, the height limit is still four stories. No cheating!

So, to sum it all up, a City can never have more than one Sorcerers’ Guild, and a Sorcerers’ Guild can never have stories of different colors. It’s all about maintaining fairness and balance in the magical community. And at the end of the game, these Sorcerers’ Guild Stories play a big role in determining your level of Influence. So, make sure you play by the rules and strategize wisely!

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

I’m building this game called Sorcerers’ Guild Stories. This really cool tile called the Threat tile lets me construct up to four stories of my color right next to the city I’m in. Right now, I have a two-story tower in this City, so I can only add two of my four stories. That will bring my tower to the maximum height. As for the other two stories that I didn’t use, I can keep them in my personal stockpile.

    Phase Three: City Tile Management

Step A. Reviving Recruitment And Threat Tiles

When it comes to taking care of your city and making sure it thrives, one important task you need to keep in mind is managing the recruitment and threat tiles within your city. These tiles play a crucial role in the growth and safety of your city, so it’s important to know how to handle them effectively. In this phase, I’ll guide you through the process of renewing these tiles to ensure your city continues to develop and remains protected.

To start, let’s talk about recruitment tiles. These tiles are where new citizens and workers are recruited. They are essential for the growth and prosperity of your city. If you want your city to thrive, you need to keep these tiles active and replenish them regularly. This ensures a steady influx of new people who will contribute to the development of your city.

Now, let’s move on to the threat tiles. These tiles represent potential dangers or challenges that your city may face. They could be anything from natural disasters to enemy attacks. It’s crucial to stay on top of these tiles and address any threats that arise promptly. This allows you to protect your city and ensure the safety of your citizens.

To renew recruitment and threat tiles, follow these simple steps:

    1. Evaluate the status of your current tiles. Look for any tiles that have expired or are close to expiring.

    2. Prioritize the renewal of recruitment tiles. These tiles should always be active and ready to recruit new citizens and workers. Make sure to renew them before they expire.

    3. Address threat tiles accordingly. If there are any threat tiles present, assess the severity of the threat and take appropriate action. This could involve fortifying your city’s defenses or implementing measures to mitigate the threat.

    4. Keep a consistent schedule for reviewing and renewing tiles. Regularly check the status of your tiles to ensure they are always up to date. Set reminders or establish a system to make this process more manageable.

Remember, the effective management of recruitment and threat tiles is paramount to the growth and safety of your city. By staying vigilant and renewing these tiles promptly, you can ensure your city thrives and remains protected.

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

Let’s talk about removing and placing tiles on the game board in Gloomhaven. It may sound confusing, but don’t worry, I’ll break it down for you.

When you recruit the last unit in a city, you’ll remove the recruitment tile from that city and put it in the recruitment discard pile. If you eliminate a threat by providing the required units to defend the city, you’ll remove the threat tile and place it in the threat discard pile.

Now, let’s move on to placing new tiles on the game board. Whenever a recruitment or threat tile is removed, you need to immediately replace it with another one. If a recruitment tile is removed, take the tile from the next recruitment space and place it on the corresponding city on the game board. If a threat tile is removed, take the tile from the next threat space.

Remember, in this game, it’s all about managing these recruitment and threat tiles on the game board. So, stay focused and keep track of what’s happening. Good luck!

When a new Recruitment tile is added to the Game Board, if some of the requested Units are no longer available in the Barracks, I won’t fill the empty spots with Units of a different kind. It’s better to leave the tile incomplete. This ensures there’s no confusion or mix-up with the Unit types.

Now, let’s talk about replenishing the Recruitment Queue and Threat Queue.

When I move a Recruitment tile to a City, I need to immediately take the top tile from the Recruitment pile and place it in the Next Recruitment space. This keeps the queue flowing smoothly, ensuring there’s always a new tile ready for the next turn.

Similarly, when a Threat tile is moved to a City, I must immediately take the top tile from the Threat pile and place it on the Next Threat space. By doing this, I keep the Threat Queue filled, guaranteeing there’s always a new threat lurking around the corner.

These actions are important for the game to progress smoothly and keep the players engaged. With these rules in mind, the game becomes a thrilling adventure where every decision counts. So, remember to follow these steps and enjoy the exciting world of Lords of Xidit!

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

If the Recruitment or Threat pile is empty, we need to refill it right away.

If the Recruitment pile is empty, we can take the tiles from the Threat Discard pile and flip them over to reveal the Recruitment side. These tiles will then become the new Recruitment pile.

If the Threat pile is empty, we can take the tiles from the Recruitment Discard pile and flip them over to reveal the Threat side. These tiles will then become the new Threat pile.

If there are no tiles in either of the discard piles to form a new Recruitment or Threat pile, then we leave the corresponding space empty.

If you don’t have any more tiles in the Recruitment Queue and you can’t refill it, then you take the top tile from the Threat pile and put it, with the Recruitment side up, on the Next Recruitment space.

In case there are no more tiles in the Threat Queue and you can’t replenish the Threat pile, you have to do the Awakening of the Titans and Arrival of Reinforcements events right away. You can have multiple Awakening of the Titans and Arrival of Reinforcements events during a game.

I just recruited the final Unit from the Recruitment tile for City number 8. Now, before I proceed with the next player’s Order, I need to place this tile on the Recruitment Discard pile.

So, here’s what I do next – I pick up the Next Recruitment tile and move it to the City where it needs to go. Then, I place the five specified Units on that tile, making sure everything’s in order. Finally, I grab the top tile from the Recruitment pile and put it on the Next Recruitment space. Simple as that!

Did you know that you can predict when certain Recruitment or Threat tiles will show up in the game? That’s right! By taking a look at the Recruitment Queue and the Threat Queue, you can plan your moves for the current Game Year. These queues will give you a sneak peek into the future, showing you which tiles will be placed on the Game Board next.

Guess what? Tile number 12 is about to bring some serious trouble! It’s the next Threat tile that will hit the Game Board. I have a hunch that either Paul or Alex will step up and take care of this threat. And when they do, guess what? Tile number 12 will be placed on the Game Board. Pretty exciting, right?

But here’s the thing: I like to plan ahead. So, I’m telling my Idrakys to eliminate the threat in City number 12. It’s going to be my sixth order, and I have a feeling it’s going to work out just fine.

And you know what? My instincts were right! Tile number 12 did end up on the Game Board, just like I thought. That means my sixth order is totally valid, and I can get rid of the threat in City number 12. Talk about a victory!

    B. Time for the Titans and Reinforcements to Show Up

    Look Out for the Titans

Did you know that Titan tiles have two sides? It’s true!

    • When you see the Front side, we call them Slumbering Titan tiles. These tiles don’t affect the game in any way.
    • But when you flip them over and the Rear side is visible, they become Raging Titan tiles. These tiles act like new threats that you need to deal with.

    Wake Up, Titans!

Here’s something interesting: if there are no more tiles in the Threat Queue and it’s not possible to add any more tiles to the Threat pile, it’s time for the Awakening of the Titans event to happen.

To start, I’ll need to flip over each of the Slumbering Titan tiles on the top of every pile of Titans. This will reveal their fierce Raging Titan side. Are you ready for this thrilling transformation?

    • Keep the Raging Titan tiles on the top of the piles if there are any. Only flip the Slumbering Titan tiles. 1
    • If there are no more Titan tiles in one or more of the piles in the Titans’ Lair, no additional Slumbering Titans will wake up in that pile. 2

Remember: The Arrival of Reinforcements event also happens every time the Titan piles are dealt with, regardless of their state.

Once the known adventure of tile placement, more commonly referred to as a game, it becomes essential to carefully consider the choice of one’s tiles. And I must admit, my perplexed self, that this task can be quite puzzling. But fear not, my friend, for I have some bursty wisdom to share with you on this matter.

First things first, let’s talk about the importance of selecting the right tiles. You see, the tiles you choose have a direct impact on the outcome of our little tile placement endeavor. They hold the power to elevate your gameplay or bring forth its downfall. So, it’s crucial to make wise decisions.

Now, let’s dive into the factors you should take into account when choosing your tiles. Remember, my friend, that the size, shape, and color of the tiles all play a role in their placement. You want to create harmonious patterns that will delight both your eyes and your fellow players.

When it comes to placement, don’t be afraid to think outside the box. Experiment with different arrangements and see what works best for you. Sometimes, the most unexpected combinations can lead to the most astonishing results.

Understanding the gameplay mechanics is another key aspect of tile selection. Each tile has its own unique properties and abilities. Some might allow you to regenerate your resources, while others might trigger a delightful response from the other tiles. It’s like a dance between the pieces, my friend, and you’re the choreographer.

And if you like variety, then you’ll love the diverse range of tiles available to you. From basic squares to intricate shapes, the possibilities are endless. So, don’t be afraid to explore and experiment, my friend.

With all these factors in mind, you’re ready to embark on your tile placement adventure. But remember, my friend, that practice makes perfect. The more you play and explore, the better you’ll become at interpreting the language of the tiles.

  • So, here’s what you do: grab the first two tiles from the fresh pile of cards and make a fancy new pile for recruiting. Stick this pile right on the Recruitment pile area.
  • Now comes the fun part. Mix up all the other tiles and flip them over to create a brand-new Threat pile. This pile goes right on the Threat pile area.

Hey there, let’s talk about how to deal with Raging Titan tiles in the game. It’s pretty important to know what to do when you come across one. So, here’s what you need to know:

Getting Rid of a Raging Titan Tile

A Raging Titan tile is just like any other threat in the game. You can eliminate it using the same rules as a regular Threat tile. However, there are a few exceptions you need to keep in mind:

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

    • Raging Titan tiles can be removed from any City that doesn’t already have a Threat or Recruitment tile. So, you have the freedom to eliminate them wherever you want.
    • When you eliminate a Raging Titan tile, you don’t have to follow any specific rules. Each icon ? you see on the tile allows you to choose one unit from behind your Screen and return it to the Barracks.
    • You can’t eliminate a Threat tile and a Titan tile together or remove multiple Titan tiles in the same City during the same Game Year.
    • When you successfully eliminate a Raging Titan tile, it simply gets taken out of play completely and put back into the game box.
    • If there’s no Threat or Recruitment tile left in a City, but there’s still a Raging Titan tile available, you have the choice to eliminate it or not. You’re not obligated to do so.

I’m in City no. 4, and I haven’t done anything here yet. My Idrakys have received an Order to take action. There are two Raging Titan tiles in the Titans’ Lair. I decide to get rid of the Titan that only needs three Units (2). I choose three Units from behind my Screen and put them back in the Barracks. The eliminated Titan tile is taken out of the game and put back in the box.

    Phase Four: Military Census

At the end of Game Years 4, 8, and 12, we have a Military Census. The players with the most Units of each type receive rewards from the noble houses in the Kingdom.

Hey there! Let me break down the game for you. We have five different types of units: Peasant Militia, Archers, Infantry, Clerics, and Battle Mages. Now, here’s how the game works:

First, each player has to count how many Units of the first type, which is Peasant Militia, they want to show to everyone. It’s a secret, so it’s up to each player to decide how many Units they want to reveal. Remember, you don’t have to show all your Units if you don’t want to.

Once everyone has made their decision, we all open our hands at the same time to reveal our Units. The player who shows the most Units of the specified type gets a reward. It’s like a little competition to see who has the most.

After that, we repeat the same process for the other four types of Units. So, we go through the counting and revealing for Archers, Infantry, Clerics, and Battle Mages.

Oh, and one important thing to note: once we’re done with each military census, all the revealed Units go back behind our screens. It’s like they become hidden again for the next round.

    • If I have the most Peasant Militia Units, I’ll get 1 Gold Sovereign token worth 1.
    • If I have the most Archers, I’ll get 2 Gold Sovereign tokens worth 1 each.
    • If I have the most Infantry, I can put 1 Bard token in a Region next to my Idrakys.
    • If I have the most Clerics, I can put 2 Bard tokens in one or two Regions next to my Idrakys.
    • If I have the most Battle Mages, I can add a story to a Sorcerers’ Guild, as long as it doesn’t exceed the height limit.

Note: If I haven’t built a Sorcerers’ Guild yet and I win the Battle Mage reward, I should keep the bonus story behind my Screen. Once I have a Sorcerers’ Guild built by my Idrakys, I must place the bonus story on the Game Board.

When more than one player has the same number of votes during a census, they all receive a reward. This can be either a Gold Sovereign token or a Bard token or a Sorcerers’ Guild story, depending on what the noble houses offer.

Note: If several players are tied and receive Bard tokens, they must be placed in the same order as the players took their turns. The player closest to the First Player token goes first.

Hey there! I’m Steve, and I’m here with Paul, Stephanie, and Alex. We’re doing a census of our Clerics. Guess what? I have one Cleric, Paul has one too. But Alex doesn’t have any, and Stephanie is the winner with two Clerics! Since Stephanie has the majority, she gets to put two Bard tokens in one or two Regions next to her Idrakys. How cool is that?

The End of the Game Year

Once everyone has completed all their tasks for the current Game Year, including the Military Census during years 4 and 8, we move the Year marker forward by one space. Then, the first player passes the First Player token to the player on their left. This marks the beginning of Phase One for the next Game Year. Exciting times ahead!

    The End of the Game

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

Hey there! We’ve made it to phase 6 of the game. We’re almost there! The game will officially end after the final Military Census at the end of the 12th Game Year.

Now, at the end of the game, we’ll have three consecutive assessments. These assessments are pretty important because they’ll determine the rankings of all the players based on three different factors: Wealth, Influence with the magical community, and Reputation across the Kingdom.

Let’s break it down. During the first assessment, we’ll eliminate one player. But, if we’re playing with five people, then two players will be eliminated instead. In the second assessment, we’ll eliminate another player. And in the final assessment, one of the two remaining players will be eliminated as well.

When all is said and done, the only player left standing will be crowned the winner. It’s a tough competition, but it’s all worth it in the end!

    Three Types of Evaluation Tiles

When you visit the Hall of Fame, you’ll notice that it is divided into three sections. Each section has its own unique Assessment tile. Let’s take a closer look at each of them.

    The “Review” Tile

This tile is all about gathering feedback. When you come across the “Review” tile, you’ll have the opportunity to provide your thoughts and opinions on a particular topic. It’s a chance for you to share your own experiences and express your perspective. This way, I can gain insights and learn from your valuable feedback.

  • The “Quiz” Tile

The “Quiz” tile is designed to test your knowledge. It’s like a little challenge that you can take to see how well you understand a specific subject. By answering the quiz questions, you can assess your own understanding and identify areas where you may need further study. I’ll be able to see your answers and provide guidance based on your performance.

  • The “Reflection” Tile

The final tile is the “Reflection” tile. Here is where you get to share your thoughts and reflect on what you’ve learned. It’s a moment of introspection where you can think deeply about the content you’ve encountered and how it has impacted you. By expressing your reflections, you’ll be able to solidify your understanding and gain a deeper appreciation for the subject.

  • So now you know about the three Assessment tiles – Review, Quiz, and Reflection. Next time you visit the Hall of Fame, make sure to engage with these tiles to share your feedback, test your knowledge, and reflect on your learning journey. I can’t wait to see what you have to say!

Hey there! Take a look at the five boxes above each tile. They’re there to help us rank players during each assessment. Pretty cool, right?

Just a heads up: The order of the assessments is random, so we never quite know which one comes first.

    The First Assessment

Find the tile labeled “First Assessment” and let’s get started with the first assessment!

If It’s the Wealth Assessment Tile: How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

When you play a game, your Wealth is determined by how many Gold Sovereign tokens you collect. These tokens have a value, and when you add up all the tokens you have, that’s your Wealth.

For The Influence Assessment Tile: How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

When it comes to gauging a player’s standing in the magical community, their level of Influence is key. Influence is determined by the number of Sorcerers’ Guild Stories – represented by cards of a specific color – that are placed on the Game Board. Keep in mind that any Sorcerers’ Guild Stories that a player may possess, but couldn’t be placed on the Game Board due to maximum capacity, will not be considered during the Influence assessment.

Regarding The Reputation Assessment Tile: How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

When I play the game, my Reputation in the Kingdom is determined by how well I’ve placed my Bard tokens in different Regions on the Game Board. After all the Regions with Bard tokens are examined, we reveal what’s in the Bastion. For each Region, the player with the most Bard tokens gets reputation points based on the higher number shown in the scoring symbol. The player with the second-highest number of Bard tokens gets reputation points based on the lower number shown in the symbol.

If two or more players tie for first place in a Region, we all get reputation points based on the higher number in the scoring symbol. But if there’s a tie for first place, no points are given for second place.

If two or more players tie for second place, each player scores reputation points equal to the smaller of the two numbers in the Region’s scoring symbol.

Your Reputation across the Kingdom is calculated by adding up the reputation points you earned in each Region. To represent your Reputation level, use one of your three Active Player Score tokens on the Score Track.

Ranking players during the first Assessment

The player with the highest Active Player Score moves their token to the top box in the first column of the Hall of Fame.

The player with the second-highest Active Player Score moves their token to the next box in the same column of the Hall of Fame. Repeat this process for the remaining players to establish the final ranking.

If me and some other players have the same score, we should put our score tokens together in the Hall of Fame.

    Breaking Ties

If there’s a tie in the Hall of Fame, we’ll see who has more Units behind their Screens. The person with the most Units wins the tie.

Then we can separate the stacked Score tokens. But if we’re still tied, the person who is farthest from the First Player token (going in the direction we’re playing) wins the tie.

    Getting Rid of a Player

Once we’ve ranked all the players, the person who is ranked the lowest gets eliminated. We’ll show this by turning their Active Player Score token over to the Eliminated side in the Hall of Fame.

Important: In a game with five players, TWO players are eliminated during the first assessment.

How to play Lords of Xidit Official Rules UltraFoodMess

Hey there! Let’s talk about what happens during the Wealth assessment. So, we have Stephanie and Paul, who are both tied in last place with 18 Gold Sovereigns each. To break the tie, they need to compare the number of Units behind their Screens. Stephanie has 2 Units, while Paul has 4. Because Paul has more Units, Stephanie gets eliminated from the game, and her Active Player Score token is flipped over to show that she’s been eliminated.

    Second And Third Assessments

Now, the second and third assessments work exactly the same as the first one, with one difference. Any players who were eliminated in a previous assessment will have their Score tokens placed on their Eliminated side. However, we don’t consider these tokens when determining the lowest-ranked player in the current assessment.

When we reach the third assessment, the player who still has their Score token placed with its Active side up is the winner of the game. This player is crowned the “Savior of the Kingdom”. Pretty cool, huh?
