Car Parts
Let’s talk about car parts. They’re the essential pieces that make a car run smoothly. From the outside, a car might look like one cohesive unit, but in reality, it’s made up of many different components that work together to keep it moving.
Take the engine, for example. It’s the heart of the car, responsible for turning fuel into power. When you turn the key in the ignition, the engine comes to life, and all its parts start working in harmony. The pistons move up and down, the spark plugs ignite the fuel, and the crankshaft keeps everything in motion. Without these parts working together, the engine wouldn’t be able to generate the power needed to propel the car forward.
Then, there’s the transmission. It’s like the car’s brain, helping it switch between gears and control the power from the engine. As you drive, the transmission smoothly shifts gears, allowing the engine to operate at its most efficient speed. This ensures that the car can go faster or slower depending on your needs, without putting too much strain on the engine.
Of course, we can’t forget about the wheels and tires. They’re the ones in direct contact with the road, providing traction and allowing the car to move. The wheels are connected to the axle, which transfers power from the engine to the wheels. The tires, on the other hand, grip the road and ensure a smooth and safe ride. Without good wheels and tires, the car would struggle to stay on the road or stop properly.
And let’s not overlook the brakes. They are, quite literally, a life-saver. When you press the brake pedal, the brake pads clamp down on the brake rotors, creating friction that slows down and stops the car. It’s crucial to have well-functioning brakes to prevent accidents and keep you and others safe on the road.
These are just a few examples of the many car parts that work together to make a car function properly. Each part has its own specific role and importance, and if one piece is faulty or missing, it can have a significant impact on the car’s performance.
So the next time you’re driving, take a moment to appreciate all the car parts working behind the scenes to make your journey possible. It’s truly incredible how they all come together to create a smooth and enjoyable ride.
Game Symbols
Let’s talk about game symbols! You know, those little characters and pictures that you see when you play your favorite games. Symbols are like the special language of games. They can represent all sorts of things, like objects, actions, or even feelings.
When I see a symbol in a game, it’s like a secret code that I have to figure out. Sometimes a symbol is easy to understand because it looks like what it represents. For example, a picture of a heart might mean love or health. But other times, symbols can be more tricky. They might look nothing like what they stand for, and I have to use my imagination to figure them out.
Symbols can also have different meanings depending on the game. In one game, a lightning bolt might mean power or energy. In another game, it might mean speed or agility. It’s fun to discover the meanings behind symbols and how they fit into the game’s story or theme.
Symbols can add a lot to a game. They make it more interesting and help me feel like I’m a part of the game world. Sometimes symbols can even give me clues about what to do next. For example, if I see a symbol of a key, I know that I need to find a key to unlock something in the game.
Symbols can be a language of their own, and it’s exciting to learn and understand them. They can be like little puzzles that I get to solve as I play. So the next time you play a game, take a close look at the symbols and see if you can unlock their hidden meanings. It might add a whole new level of fun to your gaming experience!

I’m going to guide you through the setup of the game. Follow these steps:
1. Put the gameboard in the middle of the table.
2. Choose a color and do the following:
- a. Get a matching Player Board. Decide which side you want to use. The expert side of the board is more challenging for experienced players.
- b. Take a meeple and a mini-meeple.
- c. Shuffle the deck and draw 3 Performance Goal cards.
- d. Shuffle the deck and take 2 Kanban order cards into your hand.
- e. Place a Lock tile on each of the 4 “unlocked” symbols on your Player Board.
- f. Take a Parts Voucher tile and put it in the correct space on your Player Board.
- g. Put your Certification mini-meeple to the left of the 0 space on the Certification Track in Human Resources.
- First, put one disc at the bottom desk of each department training track – a total of 5 discs. Then, put one disc in the 0 space of the Shift Bank in Human Resources. Finally, place one disc on the Productivity Points (pp) track.
- Make sure to place your disc on the 0 space. This is where things will start for you, and it’s only going to get better from here!
- If you want a bit of a challenge, put your disc on the 15 space. It might be harder to make progress, but at least you can’t go below zero!
- Next, shuffle the Factory Goal tiles and place them face-up, one at a time, in their proper places. Make sure to fill all the spaces. When placing each pair of tiles, put the lower-numbered tile on the left and the higher-numbered tile on the right. Each tile should have 2 Red Seats on it, for a total of 12 Seats on Factory Goals. If you’re playing with 3 players, put 2 Seats on the easier goal of each pair and 1 Seat on the harder goal. If you’re playing with 2 players, put 1 Seat on each tile.
- Finally, place 3 random Car Parts of 3 different types in the appropriate spaces of the Recycling pool. This will give you some materials to work with.
Now you’re all set up and ready to go! Good luck!
First, let’s set up the gameboard.
Step 1: Put the Parts Voucher and Book tiles on the roof spaces.
Step 2: Set aside all other Red Seat tiles near the gameboard.
For each training track in the 5 departments:
Step 3: Shuffle all Award Plaques, and place 3 face-down above the top space of the training tracks. (2-3p: 2 Plaques, instead of 3). Put the remaining Award Plaques back in the box without looking at them.
Step 4: Place 1 Red Seat over the 5 Award Plaques piles.
In the testing & innovation department
Step 5: (3p: Cover the Test Track printed on the gameboard with the Test Track Overlay showing the side with 3 cars. 2p: Use the 2-car side of the Test Track Overlay).
Step 6: Place 1 Car Part of each of the 6 different types to the left of the first space of the Design track, in order to track the values of upgraded Car Parts.
When setting up the game, there are a few key steps you need to follow. First, place the Pace Car, which is the white car, on one of the checkered spaces on the testing track. Next, put the Meeting token, which is a big white cube, in the middle of the track. Finally, place the production cycle marker, a white cylinder, on the ‘0’ space of the Meeting track.
Now let’s move to the assembly line department.
In this department, you will need to place 1 car of each color in the matching conveyor in the top row of the Assembly Line. Then, fill the second row in the same way. Any remaining cars should be placed near the board, where everyone can clearly see how many are left.
Next, it’s time to deal with the Demand tiles. Shuffle the 5 tiles and put one face-up in each of the 2 places at the end of the line. Each tile will have a number indicating the amount of Red Seats needed. Take the other 3 Demand tiles and create a small face-down deck with them.
Lastly, we come to the logistics department.
First, let’s shuffle the Kanban order cards that we have left. Then, I’ll turn the top card over and put the 6 Car Parts mentioned on it in their specific warehouses.
After that, I’ll return the card to the bottom of the deck and put it face-down near the board.
Now, we’ll move on to the design department.
Here, I’ll randomly place 1 Design tile face-up in each of the 8 spaces on the right.
Next, I’ll shuffle the remaining 27 Design tiles and create 3 decks with 9 tiles in each. These decks will be placed in the 3 spaces on the left side of the department. The leftmost deck is called the ‘Central’ deck.
Now, let’s head over to the administration department.
Here, I’ll shuffle the rest of the Performance Goal cards and put 4 of them face-up on the conference table. The remaining cards will be placed face-down near the board.
To finish up, I’ll put a random Final Goals tile in its designated spot. All the other Final Goals tiles can go back in the box for now.
Hey there! Here’s what you need to do to set up the game:
22 First, put all the seats in the players’ colors, but make sure they’re face-down in their correct spots. Then, you can reveal one seat tile (without a certificate) for each player.
23 Next, cover each of the four seats with a certificate using a lock tile.
24 Now, place the pink round marker in the 0 space on the Week track. Also, put the pink meeple in the circle at the bottom right of the department.
What’s the goal of the game?
When it comes to playing the game, the key is to make the most of your working hours. By using your shifts efficiently, you can maximize your chances of winning. It’s all about balancing the hours you work with the value you produce. In this game, your productivity is measured in Productivity Points (pp).
How to Play
Once the game is set up, a starting round begins.
To determine the first player, choose someone randomly. From there, the turns will proceed in a clockwise order. On your turn, place your Certification Meeple on one of the four spots in the 0 space of the Certification Track in Human Resources. This will allow you to receive the benefit listed on that spot.
When you choose your benefit, you’re not just making a random decision. The position you pick matters because the order of starting items goes from right to left on this track. And guess what? That order also determines the turn order for the first Department Selection Phase of the game.
So, here’s what you gotta do next in the Certification Track. Take a Car Part from Logistics Department and a Design tile from Design Department, but don’t worry about any benefits that are printed on the board. Just grab ’em!
You can take any Design tile you want, even from places that usually need certification (like the tops of the decks). Once you got ’em, put each item in the right spot on your Player Board.
When this round ends, you’ll need to slide the tiles to the right. This is to fill in any gaps. Then, fill in the empty spaces on the top and bottom rows with tiles from the decks on the left.
Oh, and one more thing. Don’t worry about restocking the Car Parts. No need for that.
Game Turn
In this game, each round represents a workday in the factory. We have two phases in each round. Let me walk you through these phases.
The first phase is called the Department Selection Phase. During this phase, we all take turns choosing a workstation in the department where we want to work that day. Starting from the left side of the floor plan, each player, including me, will pick their workstation.
After the Department Selection Phase comes the second phase. It is the working and training phase. You will spend your Shifts in the department you selected, doing your work or training. I will also be participating in this phase.
Remember that each round represents one workday in the factory. So, make the most of each round by choosing your workstation wisely and utilizing your Shifts effectively.
Hey there! I’ve got some exciting news to share with you. Starting today, we’ve got a new cross-training policy in our company that will shake things up a bit. It’s called “Switch It Up!” and it means that you can’t work in the same department two days in a row. You’ve got to pick a new department each day. How cool is that?
Here’s how it works. When you arrive at work, just choose which department you want to work in for the day. There are different workstations available, and all you need to do is place your worker meeple on the empty one you like. But remember, you can only have one worker per workstation. That’s the rule!
So why are we doing this? Well, it turns out that mixing things up and trying new things is a great way to keep things fresh and exciting. It also helps us learn new skills and grow as individuals. Plus, it gives us a chance to interact with different teams and get to know our colleagues better. Pretty awesome, right?
By switching departments every day, we’ll become more adaptable and versatile. We’ll gain a deeper understanding of how different parts of the company work together, and we’ll be able to bring new perspectives to our work. It’s like a little adventure every day!
So, are you ready for some variety and a new challenge? I know I am! Let’s embrace this “Switch It Up!” policy and make the most of it. Get ready to explore different departments, meet new colleagues, and learn exciting new skills. It’s going to be an amazing journey, and I can’t wait to see where it takes us!
So, here’s what I usually do: I go and find an empty desk, preferably in the department right next to mine, or, if I can’t find one, I just go back to my own desk in Administration. It’s like a little routine I have.
When we start the Department Selection Phase, I head over to the Administration desk in the factory. And just to clarify, when it comes to choosing workstations, we go from right to left on the Certification Track.
But for all the other Department Selection Phases, things change. We now choose our workstations from left to right in “Workstation Alley.” So, if you’re at the left workstation of Testing & Innovation today, you’ll be the first to pick tomorrow.
When it comes to making choices, it’s important to remember that the decisions we make today have a direct impact on what we prioritize tomorrow. It’s like following the rules of our company, a policy that guides us. Sitting at my desk, I always start by looking at the available spaces from left to right, taking into account what needs to be done.
2. Working Phase
Now, let me explain how we work in Workstation Alley. We follow a left-to-right approach to complete our tasks. The number of shifts you can work depends on the workstation you choose. Most workstations allow for 2 or 3 shifts, except for Administration, which only allows 1 or 2 shifts. The majority of tasks can be completed within a single 3-hour shift, but there are a few that require multiple shifts.
If you have Shifts saved up in the Shift Bank from Human Resources, you can use some of those to work more. However, you can never work more than a total of 4 Shifts in one day. Certain tasks and rewards allow you to save Shifts for later use.
After you finish your work for the day, make sure to get a good night’s sleep! Lay your worker meeple down at your workstation. This makes it much easier to see who still needs to take their turn in the next Department Selection Phase.
When it’s my turn, I’ll evaluate the department I’m in and complete my tasks (see p. 9). Remember, on the very first day, I have paperwork to handle. So even though I’ll be at my desk in Administration, I won’t be evaluating performance or advancing the week. Once everyone has finished their Shifts, we can begin a new day’s Department Selection Phase.
Hey there, all you beginners trying to keep track of your hard-earned Shifts! If you’re struggling to remember how many Shifts you’ve saved up during a long workday, don’t sweat it. I’ve got you covered with these three handy tiles that can serve as placeholders until you’re ready to add your precious Shifts to the Shift Bank.
A Parts Voucher is a useful tool that lets you get any Part you need exactly when you need it. But don’t waste them! If you don’t use your vouchers, you’ll be rewarded for saving them.
Now, here’s the important rule: You can’t use any benefits, like Books, Banked Shifts, or Parts Vouchers, on the same day you receive them. They all get credited to you at the end of the workday and won’t be available until the next day.
Remember, it’s smart to be patient and strategic with your vouchers. They can really come in handy when you least expect it.
Hey there! Let me break down how you can make the most of your turn in this game. Whenever it’s your go, you have the option to exchange one of your Car Parts with another one from the recycling pool. Just keep in mind that you can only have one of each type of Part in each space.
Now, here’s the cool thing – you can take advantage of the recycling option up to three times at once. And guess what? It won’t cost you a thing! Yup, it’s absolutely free. So go ahead and use this free move as many times as you’d like during your turn.
Did you know that recycling is not allowed during Meetings? I find that quite puzzling. Why limit recycling when it’s such a beneficial practice?
When you recycle, you not only save time but also help minimize waste. It’s a win-win situation!
Welcome to Human Resources!
Let’s Talk Factory Goals
I have been told that there are 3 specific areas in the factory where Sandra wants us to achieve some goals. Let’s find out more about them:
- Obtaining the specified number of Certifications;
- Acquiring the given number of Cars;
- Enhancing the indicated number of Designs;
First things first, let’s talk about Certifications. You know, those little badges that show off my skills and expertise? Getting the right number of Certifications is crucial if I want to stand out from the crowd. It’s like a golden ticket, opening doors to new opportunities and possibilities. So, if I want to level up my game, I need to focus on completing the required number of Certifications.
Next up, we have Cars. Imagine having a collection of shiny, powerful cars at my disposal. It’s like having a secret weapon, ready to unleash my creativity and drive me towards success. By claiming the specified number of Cars, I can unlock new levels of inspiration and innovation. Each car brings its own unique flair, allowing me to express myself and leave a lasting impression.
And let’s not forget about Designs. Upgrading my Designs is like giving them a fresh coat of paint – it’s all about elevating them to the next level. By enhancing the indicated number of Designs, I can breathe new life into my creations, making them more captivating and impactful. It’s the secret ingredient that takes my work from good to great.
So, there you have it. These three factors – Certifications, Cars, and Designs – are the keys to unlocking my full potential. They are the building blocks of success in today’s competitive world. By obtaining the required number of Certifications, acquiring the given number of Cars, and enhancing the indicated number of Designs, I can set myself apart and achieve greatness.
Remember, my friend, success is within reach if you’re willing to put in the effort. Take these factors into account and watch as your journey towards success unfolds before your eyes. You have the power to make it happen – now go out there and shine!
So here’s the deal, each of the three areas has a display with a pair of Factory Goal tiles. These tiles have either one or two Seats on them, depending on the number of players.
Now, picture this: You’re the first or the second person to achieve one of those goals. It could be something like getting your 3rd certification, snagging your 4th car, or even upgrading your 5th design. And guess what? As soon as you do it, you immediately receive one Seat. This Seat comes in handy later when you want to impress Sandra during a Meeting (you know, one of those fancy gatherings). And get this – if you’re really on a roll, you could claim a Seat from both goals in the same day! Just remember to flip the Factory Goal tile once it’s all out of Seats.
Shift Bank
When a task or reward allows me to earn a Shift, my marker moves to the right. And when I use a banked Shift, my marker moves to the left. It’s that easy. See the image? The Yellow player has already earned and saved 3 Shifts.
By the end of the game, I will get rewarded based on how many Shifts I have saved.
Hey there! Let me tell you about how you can use the Banked Shift tiles to help you keep track of your Shifts. It’s really simple!
So, when it’s your turn to play, you can use the Banked Shift tiles to remind yourself to take banked Shifts at the end of your turn. It’s like a little reminder to make sure you don’t forget!
At the end of your turn, you just add the Shifts to your Shift Bank and then return the tiles back to the supply. Easy peasy!
Using the Banked Shift tiles is a great way to keep everything organized and make sure you don’t lose track of your Shifts. It’s kind of like having your own little helper!
So, remember to use the Banked Shift tiles when it’s your turn, and you’ll be all set. Happy gaming!
When I look at how well you’re doing in your department, if I believe you deserve a reward, I’ll give you a certain amount of Productivity Points based on the number of Shifts you’ve saved up.
Being able to manage your time is really important! But remember, if you haven’t started your training yet, you won’t be able to earn any rewards!
When I evaluate how well you’re doing in a department, if I notice that you could use some encouragement, I’ll deduct 1 Productivity Point for every Shift less than 5 that you’ve saved up.
However, if you’re managing your time effectively and have allocated specific time slots for those tasks later on, you won’t be penalized.
Getting Trained and Certified
When you join a department, you’ll have the opportunity to go through its training program. Each department has its own unique training track, designed to help you learn the skills and knowledge necessary for that specific area of work.
The training program is divided into different stages, each represented by a desk. To progress through the training, you’ll need to complete a certain number of shifts. Each shift represents a unit of time and effort that you dedicate to learning and improving.
As you complete each shift, your marker will move up to the next desk, indicating your progress in the training program. This allows you to gradually advance and expand your skills in your chosen department.
Remember that training is an essential part of your development here. It provides you with the opportunity to learn and grow, gaining valuable experience that will benefit you in your career.
When you reach the same stage of training as a coworker, you stack your marker on top of theirs, showing that you’re ahead. Once you pass the 3rd stage of training in a department, you become certified in that department.
Being certified unlocks a new section on your board, and some sections provide special advantages within the department. Remove the lock tile from the corresponding section on your board (or Administration), then select a benefit from the next space on the Certification Track in Human Resources. Move your certification marker to that space and receive the benefit.
Certification has its perks, and one of them is the special order of scoring during Meetings. Unlike regular scoring, which goes from left to right, certified Players score from right to left on the Certification Track. The more certifications you have, the more valuable your thoughts become. We really want to hear what you can bring to the table!
The Advantages of Certification
Department of Testing & Innovation
Hey there! Let me tell you about the amazing Special Upgrade Design Space. When you upgrade a Model Part, you have the option to put a Design tile on that space. This will boost the Design value of the Part not once, but twice! How cool is that?
Now, there’s a catch – you can only do this once during the game, and you can only use one Design. Plus, no two players can use the same type of Car Part for this special upgrade. But here’s the best part: when you make this upgrade, you instantly score pp equal to the new value of the Car Part. Cha-ching!
Speaking of upgrades…
Hey there! Want to know what’s so awesome about unlocking your 5th garage on your board? Well, let me tell you.
Once you unlock your 5th garage, you get to park a car there and choose two different benefits to enjoy. Cool, right?
Imagine this: you can select one thing like a seat and another thing like a shift, or maybe a book and a parts voucher. The choice is yours!
But wait, there’s more! If you’re playing on the expert side of the player board, you can claim a seat as a benefit. Talk about a win-win!
Logistics Department
By doing this, I’ll help you unlock the 6th storage bin for Car Parts on your board. You’ll get the chance to access the Get a Parts Voucher action.
Design Department
Welcome to the Design Department! I’m here to tell you all about the amazing world of design and how it impacts our lives. From the clothes we wear to the buildings we live in, design is everywhere. And guess what? You can be a part of it too!
Let me start by explaining what design is all about. Design is the process of creating something new or improving something that already exists. It’s all about finding creative solutions to problems and making things better. Designers use their imagination and skills to come up with unique and innovative ideas. They bring these ideas to life through drawings, models, and prototypes.
Designers can work in many different fields, such as fashion, architecture, and graphic design. Each field requires its own set of skills and knowledge, but they all have one thing in common: the ability to think outside the box. Designers have to be open to new ideas and willing to take risks. They have to be curious and always looking for inspiration.
So, what does it take to be a designer? Well, first of all, you need to have a passion for it. Design is not just a job, it’s a way of life. You have to love what you do and be willing to put in the time and effort to become the best. You also need to be creative and have a good eye for detail. Design is all about aesthetics and making things look good, so having a sense of style is crucial.
Another important skill for designers is communication. You have to be able to effectively communicate your ideas to others and work as part of a team. Design is a collaborative process, and you have to be able to listen to others and take feedback. You also need to be able to present your ideas in a clear and compelling way.
Finally, as a designer, you have to be adaptable and willing to learn. The field of design is always evolving, and you have to be able to keep up with the latest trends and technologies. You have to be open to new ideas and willing to take on new challenges.
So, if you’re interested in design, I encourage you to explore it further. There are so many opportunities out there, and who knows? You might just discover your true passion. Design is a rewarding and fulfilling career, and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create.
When you unlock the 5th Design space on your board, you open up new possibilities for creativity. Imagine having access to three “fresh Design” tiles that are waiting for you at the top of the 3 Design decks. It’s like discovering a hidden treasure trove of inspiration!
Administration Department
Hey there! Welcome to the Administration Department. I’m here to guide you through everything you need to know about our department and the important role it plays in our organization.
First things first, let’s talk about what the Administration Department is all about. In a nutshell, we’re the backbone of the organization. We handle a wide range of tasks and responsibilities that help keep things running smoothly. From managing paperwork to coordinating schedules and everything in between, we’ve got it covered.
One of the key aspects of the Administration Department is our impeccable organizational skills. We’re pros at keeping things in order and ensuring that nothing falls through the cracks. We understand the importance of detail and accuracy, and we take pride in our ability to stay on top of things. So you can rest assured that when it comes to managing information and logistics, we’ve got you covered.
But it’s not just about paperwork and logistics. Our department also plays a vital role in maintaining a positive and efficient work environment. We’re here to support the entire organization, from top to bottom. Whether it’s assisting employees with their needs, coordinating meetings and events, or making sure the office is stocked with supplies, we’re here to make everyone’s work lives easier.
Now, let’s talk about why the Administration Department is so crucial. Think of us as the glue that holds everything together. Without our attention to detail, organization, and support, chaos could unfold. We keep things running smoothly so that our colleagues can focus on what they do best – whether that’s innovating, creating, or providing top-notch services to our clients.
So, remember, when you need assistance or have questions, the Administration Department is here for you. We’re the go-to resource for anything administrative, and we’ll always do our best to help you out. Our goal is to make your work life easier and more efficient, so you can focus on what you do best.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the Administration Department. If you have any questions or need further assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help and support you in any way we can.
Imagine yourself in a conference room, gathered with colleagues around a table. You’re engaged in discussion, brainstorming, and decision-making. Now picture this: there’s a fifth chair at the table, offering you an additional opportunity to contribute and make your voice heard. With that fifth seat, you gain a fifth chance to score and make an impact during these important meetings.
Homework
There’s another great way to improve your skills: Take the books home and study in your free time. You can even bring training books with you to work!
Every book you use while working in a department boosts your training in that department by 1 level. And the best part? It doesn’t take any time away from your regular workday.
You can use your books whenever you want during your turn. So you have the chance to train first, then work your usual shifts, use any extra time you’ve saved up, and still have the option to study even more!
Advanced Training
Once you’re certified in a department, you can keep training until you become an expert. That means reaching the final space on the department’s training track, also known as the red desk.
Being the first person to become an expert gives you a special achievement: a Seat. Along with that, you can choose one Award Plaque from the remaining options and place the rest face-down on the space.
Getting an Award Plaque comes with immediate benefits. You can either increase your Shift Bank by 1, gain 2 Productivity Points, take 1 Book, or receive 1 Parts Voucher.
Once you’ve received the benefit, you have the choice to either discard the plaque or display it on your wall. Regardless of what you do, it won’t provide any further advantages.
Earning Points During Training
After the game ends, you have the opportunity to earn points based on your position within each department’s training track. If you are in first place, you will receive 5 points. Second place will give you 3 points, and third place will award you 1 point. In the event of a tie, the stacking order will determine the winner.
When you land on a space that is already occupied on the training track, you will place your disc on top of the other discs. This will put you ahead of anyone below you in the stack.
Example: When the game ends, the players in the first, second, and third positions are Yellow, Blue, and Purple, respectively. Purple arrived last, so his disc is on top, making him the leader. Blue is in second place, and Yellow is in third.
Note: Players who didn’t make any progress on a departmental training track don’t earn any pp for it.
The Job of a Factory Manager
Hey there! If this is your first time working at the factory, I’m here to give you some extra motivation to train hard while you handle your other responsibilities. I want to reward those of you who put in the effort, so let me explain how it works.
When I come by each department, I’ll be looking for the most dedicated trainee or trainees. I’m interested in the ones who have made the most progress on their training track. Remember, the order you stack your tasks only matters for scoring at the end of the game.
If you’ve not only made good progress but also performed well in your department, I’ll check how many Shifts you’ve banked in the Shift Bank. And here’s the exciting part – for every Shift you’ve banked, I’ll reward you with 1 pp (that’s productivity points!). Trust me, it’ll be a great motivator. But remember, no reward if you haven’t started training yet. So get on it!
If you already know about this plant or have experience with operations like this, I have something to motivate you. I’ll give you demerits if you train slower than you should, especially if you neglect your other responsibilities.
When I come to a department, I’ll be checking on the person or people who have done the least training. I mean, whoever is making the least progress or hasn’t even started.
If their performance is also not up to par, I’ll take a look at how many Shifts they’ve saved in the Shift Bank. If I catch you slacking off like this, I’ll deduct 1 pp for each Shift you have banked that is less than 5. Maybe that will get you moving!
Department | Requirements to Get pp Reward | What Will Make You Lose pp | My Assignment After the Evaluation |
Testing and Innovation | Have at least 2 upgraded designs (upgraded side) | Have 2 or fewer upgraded designs (upgraded side) | Move the Pace Car forward 1 step |
Assembly Line | Have at least 2 cars in your garage | Have 2 or fewer cars in your garage | Remove a Car Part from all assembly spaces |
Logistics | Have at least 2 Car Parts (cubes) in your board | Have 2 or fewer Car Parts in your board | Remove all but 1 Car Part from each warehouse |
Design | Have at least 2 designs (blueprint side) on your board | Have 2 or fewer designs (blueprint side) on your board | Put back the oldest 4 tiles into the ‘Central’ deck (leftmost deck) and shuffle it |
Administration | Have at least 2 certifications | Have 2 or fewer certifications | Move the Week marker forward and evaluate your End-of-Week score as follows: |
When you have a car in your garage, you can earn points based on the upgrades it has. Here’s how it works:
- If you made upgrades to a certain car model, you’ll earn 2 points per upgrade for that model.
- If someone else made upgrades to a certain car model, you’ll earn 1 point per upgrade for that model.
Design Department
The research and development process focuses on creating designs for new upgraded parts. It also involves testing existing designs.
When you choose a Design, it’s not just a simple decision. It’s a step towards progress and improvement. And the best part? The Testing & Innovation Department is here to help you every step of the way.
Now, you might be wondering, what exactly is a Design? Well, let me break it down for you. A Design is like a blueprint for a car part upgrade. It shows you what Innovation can do to take your car to the next level. Some Designs might not have anything in the top left corner, but don’t worry, they still have something great to offer.
Once you select a Design, the real fun begins. You’ll get to claim the car that’s depicted in the test track. It’s like bringing your dream car to life!
But that’s not all. The Testing & Innovation Department has even more to offer. They have a whole chapter dedicated to the testing and innovation process. You’ll learn all about how they put your Designs to the test and find new ways to make your car even better.
And here’s a little secret: if you’re looking for a specific car part, Recycling can be your best friend. It’s a way to get the parts you need and keep the innovation going.
So, what are you waiting for? Select a Design and get ready to take your car to the next level!
Alright, here’s what you need to do to add a design to your player board:
- Gather all the necessary materials and tools.
- Choose a design that you like and that suits your style.
- Place the design on your player board and secure it in place.
- Make sure everything is aligned and straight.
- Take a step back and admire your work!
It’s as simple as that! Now you can enjoy your new and improved player board. Happy designing!
- To get new Designs from the display, you need to spend 1 Shift for each Design. However, you can only take Designs from the decks if you are certified. Make sure you have enough space on your Player Board for the Designs you take, as you cannot discard designs from your desk spaces.
- Once you have selected your Designs, place them on the desk on your Player Board.
- After you have finished spending your Shifts, slide all the Designs in both rows to the right to fill any gaps. Then, place new Design tiles from the top and bottom decks on any vacant spaces in the same row. If either of those decks runs out of tiles, use tiles from the ‘Central’ Deck to fill the empty spaces. If both decks are exhausted, fill the top row first and then the bottom row.
Thoroughly Studied Designs
Hey there! I want to share with you some valuable information about the Designs that have been through a lot of testing and tweaking. These are the ones you want to pay attention to because they’re the most refined.
You can find these Designs in the rightmost four spaces of the display. They’re like a time-saver because all the kinks have already been worked out. So, if you choose one of these Designs, you’ll save yourself a lot of time and effort in the long run.
Now, let me explain how this works for you. When you select a Design from the rightmost four spaces, it will go either into your Shift Bank or become a Book. The Shift Bank is your collection of saved Shifts that you can use to train later. And the Book, well, it allows you to practice without using a Shift. It’s like a special pass that gives you the benefit of training without spending your valuable Shift.
Remember, though, you won’t be able to use these benefits until the next day. So, be patient! They’ll be waiting for you at the beginning of your workday.
The Perks of Certification
When you start playing this game, you unlock something really special – the Cutting-Edge Designs. They are like nothing you’ve ever seen before – unique and innovative. These designs allow you to create something truly remarkable.
But that’s not all! With the Cutting-Edge Designs, you can work on not just 4, but 5 designs at the same time. Imagine the possibilities! By unlocking the fifth design space on your player board, you can take your creativity to a whole new level.
Experience the Cutting-Edge Designs
So, if you’re certified in Design like me, you’ve got some special privileges. You can choose new Designs from the top of the first two decks on the left, as well as the ‘Central’ Deck. It’s like having access to a treasure trove of creativity!
Every time I grab the last Design from the leftmost decks of the top and bottom row, I immediately fill the space with the top Design from the ‘Central’ deck.
Logistics Department
When I need Car Parts, I collect them and fill the warehouses by placing a Kanban order.
I will eventually take the Car Parts I collect to the Testing & Innovation Department or the Assembly Line. The Innovation department can upgrade those Parts in a Model, while the Assembly Line uses them to complete cars.
Step 1: Issue a Kanban Order
Every day, you have the ability to issue 1 Kanban Order. This may take some time, but it will prove to be beneficial in the long run.
- First, spend 1 Shift. However, you will actually bank 1 Shift in the Shift Bank for later use.
- Next, select a Kanban Order from your hand.
- Now, position the Kanban Order horizontally on the Kanban space. Make sure that 4 of its symbols are on one side of the line, and the other 2 symbols are on the opposite side. It’s up to you to decide which side gets the 4 symbols.
- For each symbol that matches a warehouse on the side of the line where the Kanban Order is placed, you must add 1 Car Part to that warehouse from the general supply.
- Finally, return the Kanban Order to the bottom of the deck and draw a new one to replace it.
Action: Collect Car Parts
Hey there! Time to grab some car parts and get ready for some serious racing action. Here’s what you need to do to collect those car parts and add them to your Player Board.
First things first, find the car parts you need. Look around the game board and keep an eye out for the car part tokens. They can be hiding in different spaces, so explore and search thoroughly!
Once you spot a car part token, move your token to that space and collect the car part. It’s like a treasure hunt, but with car parts instead of gold!
Now that you have the car part in your possession, it’s time to add it to your Player Board. Each car part has a specific slot on the board where it belongs. Take a moment to examine your Player Board and find the correct slot for the car part you just collected.
Place the car part token in the corresponding slot on your Player Board. It should fit perfectly, like a puzzle piece completing the picture of your dream racing machine.
Keep in mind that you can only collect one car part token per turn, so choose wisely. Think about which car part you need the most or which one will give you the greatest advantage in the upcoming race. You want to build a powerful and speedy car, after all!
Now that you know how to collect car parts, go out there and gather all the pieces you need. Good luck, and may your racing dreams come true!
- If you want Car Parts from a warehouse, spend 1 Shift per warehouse. For example, if you want two types of Car Parts, you’ll spend 2 Shifts.
- You can take as many Car Parts as you want from each warehouse. Just make sure you have enough space on your Player Board for each one. Remember, you can’t get rid of Car Parts once you place them on your board.
- Put the Car Parts you collected on your Player Board.
Advantages of Certification
Hey there! Guess what? You’ve reached a pretty exciting milestone – you now have the power to request 1 Parts Voucher per day as a logistics action! Pretty cool, right?
When you keep track of a sixth Car Part, it allows you to unlock the sixth Car Part space on your Player Board.
Welcome to the Assembly Line Department
Here, you’ll provide the Parts needed to complete assembly of cars and watch them roll down the line!
The Assembly Line consists of Assembly Spaces, which we load with Car Parts, and the Conveyors that move the cars down the line as they are built. Eventually, the cars roll out to the Test Track.
First Step: Clearing Out Assembly Spaces
When you start your turn in this department, empty all the Assembly Spaces for any Models whose Assembly Spaces are completely filled. Return those Car Parts to the supply.
Action: Provide Needed Parts
When my electronics break, I get frustrated. The thought of spending hours searching for the right parts and trying to fix them myself is overwhelming. But what if there was a simpler way to get the parts I need?
That’s where Action comes in. With Action, you don’t have to spend hours searching for parts. They do all the work for you. They have a vast inventory of parts for all kinds of electronic devices, from smartphones to game consoles.
The process is simple. I just visit their website and tell them what part I need. They have a team of experts ready to help me find exactly what I’m looking for. They take into account the specific make and model of my device to ensure they provide the right part.
Once I’ve found the part I need, I can easily order it from their website. Action offers fast shipping, so I don’t have to wait long for my part to arrive. And if I have any questions or need further assistance, their customer service team is always available to help.
What I really appreciate about Action is their commitment to quality. All of their parts are tested and guaranteed to work. They understand how important it is to have reliable parts to fix your electronics, and they go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.
So if you’re like me and need to fix your electronics but don’t want to deal with the hassle of searching for parts, give Action a try. They make the process simple and convenient, so you can get back to enjoying your devices in no time.
When you deliver the necessary parts on time, you keep the assembly line moving smoothly. It’s crucial to stay on top of this task.
- Spend 1 shift moving a car part from your player board to an assembly space for a model.
- Remember: You can use recycling or a parts voucher to get any part from the supply instead of taking a cube from your board.
- The car part you choose must be different from the ones already in the model’s assembly spaces.
- If any of the model’s parts have been upgraded (see Testing & Innovation- Action: Upgrade Parts), you must provide all the upgraded parts first. They can be in any order.
- Take the car in front of this Model’s Assembly Line and move it to the next position following the arrows. Repeat this process until no more cars can be moved.
- If there is an empty space at the beginning of the line and there are more cars of this Model available, place a new car from the supply in that space. If there are no more cars of this Model, no additional cars can be placed in the Assembly spaces.
My Journey on the Test Track
When I see a car roll off the assembly line, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement. The process of creating a car from start to finish is truly mesmerizing.
Once the car reaches the end of the line, it’s like a masterpiece coming to life. The final touches have been applied, and it’s time to put this magnificent creation to the test.
The Test Track is where the car’s true capabilities are revealed. Here, I get to witness its speed, agility, and performance firsthand. It’s an exhilarating experience, watching the car navigate through twists and turns, effortlessly conquering any challenge thrown its way.
But the Test Track is not just about pushing the car to its limits. It’s also a moment of reflection for me. As I watch the car in action, I can’t help but marvel at the dedication and craftsmanship that went into its creation.
Every little detail has been meticulously thought out, from the engine to the suspension to the aerodynamics. It’s a testament to the skill and expertise of the engineers and designers who brought this car to life.
And as I stand there, witnessing the car shine on the Test Track, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride. This car is the result of countless hours of hard work and dedication.
So, the next time you see a car roll off the line, take a moment to appreciate the journey it has been on. From its humble beginnings as a collection of parts to its triumphant debut on the Test Track, it’s a testament to the ingenuity and passion of the automotive industry.
When a car is delivered to you, you will receive either 1 or 2 pp points. The number of points depends on which conveyor the car came from.
Hey, I’ve got an important task for you. Can you help me out?
Here’s what we need to do: move the car to the first empty space behind the Pace Car on the Test Track.
Now, there’s a little rule we need to keep in mind. Only 4 cars, besides the Pace Car, can be on the Test Track at the same time. So, if a 5th car wants to join the track, we need to say goodbye to the car right behind the Pace Car. But don’t worry, we’ll just move the other cars forward to fill the gap. The removed car will go back to the supply.
Sounds easy, right? Let’s get to work!
The Power of Completing In-Demand Models
When you finish building one of the two models that are currently in demand, you achieve something special. It’s like earning a seat at a conference table where important decisions are made.
- If there are any empty seats on the Demand tile, I grab one.
- If I have any of my seats face-down on the conference table, I discard the red seat and turn one of my seats face-up. If I don’t have any face-down seats, I place the red seat on my player board, and it becomes one of my seats after the next meeting.
I follow this process whenever I earn a red seat.
Lastly: Meeting the Demand for Models
When my turn is over, I need to check if either of the two Demand tiles in this department still has Red Seats on it. If both tiles are empty, it means that the Demand has been met. To indicate that, I remove the empty tile from the board and replace it with a new one from the Demand deck. I also need to make sure that the new tile has the correct number of Red Seats on it. Once I’ve done that, I mix the discarded tiles back into the deck. This way, the Demand is refreshed and ready for the next player’s turn.
Now let’s talk about the advantages of becoming certified in this field.
So here’s the deal: you now have room for an extra car! Yep, you can unlock the fifth garage on your Player Board. Pretty cool, right?
Now, on one side of the board, when you decide to park a car in this new garage (it doesn’t have to be your fifth car, by the way), you get to choose two different benefits from the options shown below the garage. Let’s say you pick 1 Seat and 1 Shift, or maybe 1 Book and 1 Parts Voucher. It’s totally up to you!
However, if you’re playing with the expert side of your board, things are a bit different. In that case, the only benefit available for you is 1 Seat. But hey, one benefit is better than none, right?
Now, let me introduce you to the Testing & Innovation Department
Listen to this: you can claim cars from the Test Track and bring them to your garage for some final testing. Sound exciting? I thought so. Plus, you also have the option to deliver Car Parts and Designs to upgrade your Parts. How cool is that, huh?
Get the Cars You Want by Taking Action!
If you want to claim a car, you need to have a Selected Design on your desk that shows the Model you’re after. Here’s how you do it:
- First, return the Selected Designs that match the Models you want (remember, you can only use one Design per car) from your Player Board and put them at the bottom of the ‘Central’ deck.
- Next, spend the right number of Shifts based on where the cars are positioned behind the Pace Car when you decide to claim one:
- If the car is right behind the Pace Car, it will cost you 1 Shift.
- If the car is the second or third one behind the Pace Car, it will take 2 Shifts.
- And if the car is the fourth one behind the Pace Car, you’ll need to spend 3 Shifts.
- After claiming the cars, move the Pace Car forward a number of spaces along the Test Track equal to the number of cars you took.
- Finally, move the other cars to fill the gaps behind the Pace Car.
- I can choose to put each car in an empty garage on my Player Board and get the benefit shown on each garage I fill.
- To move a Car Part from your Player Board to an Upgrade Space in Innovation, you must spend 1 Shift. Keep in mind that you have the option to take the Part from the supply by using Recycling or a Parts Voucher instead of taking a cube from your board.
- Once you have moved the Car Part, you will receive the benefit that is depicted in the Upgrade Space you filled, if there is any.
- You can increase the value of the Car Part by one step. The first upgrade will move it into the first space, and the maximum value is 6.
- After upgrading the Car Part, flip the Selected Design over to reveal the Upgraded Design. This design shows the upgraded Part in the car. Place the Upgraded Design to the right of your Player Board and earn 2 pp, as indicated on the Upgraded Design side of the tile.
The car placement phase is an important part of the game, as it determines which garages I want to fill and the benefits I can receive. I have to carefully consider my options and strategically choose the best garages for my cars. It’s like a puzzle!
Each garage on my Player Board has a different benefit associated with it. Some garages give me points, while others give me special abilities or actions that I can use during the game. I need to think about what benefits I need the most and which garages can help me achieve my goals.
When I choose a garage to place my car in, I should consider what benefit it offers and how it fits into my overall strategy. For example, if I need more points, I might choose a garage that gives me a lot of points. If I need more actions to take on my turn, I might choose a garage that gives me extra actions.
It’s also important to think about the long-term implications of my choices. The garages I fill now will affect my final score at the end of the game. So, I should try to choose garages that will give me a good score overall. This requires some planning and foresight.
One strategy I can use is to focus on filling garages that give me abilities or actions that complement each other. This way, I can create powerful combinations that will give me an advantage during the game. It’s like assembling a team of cars that work well together.
Another strategy is to focus on filling garages that give me a lot of points. Points are crucial for winning the game, so I want to make sure I have enough of them. I can try to maximize my points by filling garages that offer the highest point values.
In the end, the car placement phase is all about choosing the right garages for my cars and maximizing the benefits I can receive. It’s like solving a puzzle and making strategic decisions. By carefully considering my options and planning ahead, I can set myself up for success in the game. So, let’s get started and fill those garages!
Farewell to Garages
If you’ve already filled up all 5 of your garages, then and only then are you allowed to swap out an old car. This means returning it to the supply, but sadly, you won’t get to enjoy the perks of the garage again.
Saving the Date
Once the Pace Car reaches or passes the next checkered space, we’ve gathered enough test data to set a meeting at the end of the day. Move the Meeting token from the Test Track to the Administration Department as a reminder to hold the Meeting later on (Check out Meetings for more details).
Action: Upgrade A Design
So, you’ve got a design, and it’s time to level it up. But how? Well, that’s where I come in. I’m here to help you take your design to the next level, making it shine even brighter. Today, I want to talk about the key elements you need to consider when upgrading a design.
1. Usability
First things first, let’s talk about usability. This is all about making your design user-friendly and intuitive. It’s about creating an experience that flows smoothly, where everything is easy to find and understand. Before upgrading your design, consider how people will interact with it and what actions they need to take. Because, really, if your design isn’t user-friendly, what’s the point?
2. Visual Appeal
Next up, we have visual appeal. This is all about making your design look good. And by that, I mean, really good. Think beautiful colors, eye-catching fonts, and stunning imagery. When upgrading your design, take the time to carefully select a color palette that evokes the right emotions and choose fonts that are both legible and expressive. And don’t forget to find high-quality images that grab attention and tell your story.
3. Consistency
Consistency is key when it comes to design. It’s all about creating a seamless and cohesive experience for your users. When upgrading your design, make sure to maintain a consistent look and feel throughout. This means using the same styles, fonts, and colors across all your pages and elements. Consistency not only looks professional but also helps establish your brand identity.
4. Accessibility
Design should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities. When upgrading your design, consider accessibility from the get-go. Use contrasting colors for better readability, make sure your font sizes are legible, and add alt text to your images. By taking accessibility into account, you ensure that everyone can enjoy and engage with your design.
5. Mobile-Friendliness
In today’s mobile-driven world, it’s crucial to make your design mobile-friendly. More and more people are accessing websites and apps from their smartphones and tablets, so you need to ensure your design looks and functions great on smaller screens. When upgrading your design, make sure it’s fully responsive and optimized for mobile devices. This will give your users an exceptional experience no matter what device they’re using.
Conclusion
When it comes to upgrading a design, there are many factors to consider. Usability, visual appeal, consistency, accessibility, and mobile-friendliness are all key elements that can take your design to the next level. So, don’t hold back. Upgrade that design and let it shine.
In order to enhance the appearance of a component in a model, you need to have a specific design that showcases both the model and the part. This design should accurately represent the car part you are working with.
Some Designs That Have Been Tested
If you have a new and improved design for your car, and you actually have that car in your garage, it’s called a Tested Design. Tested Designs give you points when the week is over and when the game is finished!
The points you get from a Tested Design can vary depending on if it’s the end of the week or the end of the game:
End-of-Week Scoring:
When you test upgrades for the factory models, you earn pp.
Scoring at the End:
Hey there! Did you know that you can earn pp by testing the value of your Car Parts in your Designs? It’s pretty cool!
Why Certification is So Great
So here’s the deal: I’ve got something pretty cool lined up for you. It’s called a double-upgrade, and trust me, it’s a game-changer. Basically, when you double-upgrade a Design, you get to level it up not just once, but twice! That means you get to boost the Car Part’s value by two steps instead of just one.
But wait, there’s more! Not only do you get that sweet value increase, but you also score the points for the new value right away! It’s like an instant bonus that’ll give you a leg up on the competition.
Now, here’s how it works. Instead of placing the double-upgraded Design to the right of your Player Board like you normally would, you stick it on the Special Upgrade space. This special spot is reserved just for your double-upgraded Designs, so they’ll be right at home.
So, what do you think? Pretty awesome, right? With this double-upgrade trick up your sleeve, you’ll be able to take your Car Parts to a whole new level and dominate the racetrack. Trust me, once you try it, you’ll never want to go back.
Note: Each type of Car Part can only be upgraded twice; this means two players cannot upgrade the same Car Part.
Administration Department
From here, you have control over every department.
Action: Micro-manage
You have the option to work or train in a different department. For example, you can spend your shifts in logistics. You can only micro-manage one department per day, so choose wisely which one you want to work or train in.
At my desk in this department, I don’t need to use the workstations. This is where I move the week marker forward by one space and do the End-Of-Week scoring.
It’s important to note that in the Administration department, the only task available is training. Even if I work and train in another department using Shifts, I can still train in Administration by using Shifts and/or Books.
Now let’s talk about the benefits of certification.
Picture this: you’re in a meeting, surrounded by important-looking people, and they’re all throwing around acronyms, jargon, and buzzwords like it’s some secret language. It’s overwhelming, right? Well, I’ve got good news for you – you can learn to navigate this linguistic minefield and find your place at the conference table.
Let’s start with meetings. We’ve all been in meetings – those gatherings where people come together to discuss ideas, make decisions, and generally try to get things done. But what exactly goes on in a meeting? What’s the point?
To put it simply, a meeting is a gathering of people to accomplish a specific goal. It’s like a team huddle, but with desks and flip charts instead of football helmets. The purpose of a meeting can vary – it could be to share information, brainstorm ideas, make decisions, or just touch base. Whatever the reason, the goal is always to move things forward.
Now, let’s talk about acronyms, jargon, and buzzwords – those pesky little words and phrases that seem to have their own secret meanings. Acronyms are abbreviations formed from the initial letters of other words, like NASA or LOL. Jargon is specialized terminology that’s used within a particular group or industry. And buzzwords are trendy words or phrases that are used to make something sound important or impressive.
Acronyms, jargon, and buzzwords can be double-edged swords. On one hand, they can make you sound knowledgeable and in-the-know. On the other hand, they can be confusing and alienating, especially if you’re not familiar with them. So, how can you navigate this linguistic minefield?
The key is to pay attention, ask questions, and do your homework. When someone throws an acronym or a buzzword at you, don’t be afraid to ask for clarification. And if you’re unsure about a particular piece of jargon, take the time to look it up later. By doing your due diligence, you’ll be able to decode the secret language of meetings and unlock your fifth Seat space at the conference table.
So, there you have it – a crash course in meeting efficacy and synergy of acronyms, jargon, and buzzwords. The next time you find yourself in a meeting, remember these tips and you’ll be well on your way to becoming a meeting master.
Hey there! Remember how I mentioned that when the Pace Car reaches or crosses a checkered space, we move the Meeting marker to Administration? Well, that’s because it’s time to schedule a Meeting for the end of the day. Exciting, right?
Now, once everyone has taken their turns for the day, it’s finally time for the Meeting to begin. Trust me, it can get pretty intense, so we don’t have any spare moments to visit Recycling during the Meeting!
When we have enough test data, we’ll all gather together to discuss our findings. That’s when you can really shine and show off your accomplishments to earn some serious points, known as pp. But here’s the catch – you’ll need to have Seats of your color at the Meeting in order to do that. Each Seat represents a different achievement that you can proudly talk about.
Let’s quickly go over the various ways you can acquire Seats:
- Be the first person to complete any given Training Track. It’s a race!
- Reach the 2nd and 4th spaces of the Certification Track in HR.
Hey there! Let’s talk about some important stuff. Today, I want to share with you three key goals for our factory, as well as some tasks you need to complete. Sound good? Great! Let’s dive in.
- We need to make sure we accomplish our factory goals. These goals are really important because they help us stay on track and make progress. They’re like a roadmap for success.
- Another important task is completing the assembly of models that are in high demand. This means we need to prioritize those models and make sure they’re ready to go before anything else.
- Lastly, I want to talk about parking a car in the leftmost garage. It’s important that we keep this space available at all times, except during meetings. If you need to, you can exchange a red seat for a seat of your own color at the conference table.
Now, let’s chat about the performance goals. There are four goals on the table that we need to consider. Additionally, you have three goals in your hand. We’ll be discussing these goals and working on them together.
- You have one project that is your ‘pet project’, and you have to provide an update on it.
- You need to come up with a performance goal for the next meeting.
- Lastly, you have one seat that you can keep to yourself.
No matter how poorly you did, you have to present your pet project.
During the meeting, each person will take turns presenting their accomplishments. You can no longer participate once you run out of seats from the conference table, and you can’t use any red seats during the meeting.
The order of presentations will be determined by the level of certification, with the most certified person going first and the least certified person going last. Specifically, the order goes from right-to-left on the Certification Track.
When it’s your turn, you have two options:
When we’re in a meeting, there are a few things we need to keep in mind. I’ll explain them to you step by step.
First, take your pet project and put it face-up in front of you. This allows everyone in the meeting to see it and potentially score points from it. Make sure to do this just once during the meeting.
Next, choose one of your face-up seats from the conference table and place it on a performance goal. This will let you score points against that goal.
If you want to, you can also speak during the meeting. When you speak, you have the option to do either of the two steps I mentioned earlier.
However, if you don’t want to do anything at that moment, you can simply choose to pass. But remember, you can always jump back in later if you change your mind.
Now, let’s talk about scoring against performance goals. The factory manager pays a lot of attention to these goals, but she becomes less interested in a goal if she hears about it too much. So, you can only speak about a specific performance goal once. Keep that in mind as you strategize your moves.
Hey there! So, here’s the deal. You see those seats at the bottom? They actually represent the number of players who can participate in achieving this goal. Pretty cool, right?
Now, onto the Performance Goal card. In the top-left corner, you’ll find a number called ‘pp’ – that’s short for ‘performance points’. This tells you how valuable the goal is. And here’s the kicker: in the top-right corner, there’s a multiplier, which tells you how many times you can earn those points if you’re the first person to bring up this goal. Talk about maximizing your points!
As we continue discussing this topic, each subsequent person will score one point less. Eventually, Sandra reaches a point where she’s had enough and no one else can score against that Performance Goal.
Once everyone has passed consecutively, we can move on from the Old Business section of the Meeting to New Business:
- Return any used Players’ Seats to the spaces around the conference table, with the seats face-down. Keep any unused seats at the table face-up.
- Try to flip as many of your Seats at the conference table face-up as possible. For each Red Seat you discard from your Player Board, flip 1 seat face-up.
- Get rid of any remaining face-up Performance Goal cards.
- Determine the Performance Goals for the next Meeting:
Okay, here’s how you play the game Kanban Automotive Revolution. First, we all put one of our two cards face-down on an empty space on the conference table. Then, we reveal all the cards. If there aren’t enough players, we fill the remaining spaces from the deck.
Next, each player draws two new cards from the deck. After that, we move the Meeting token back to the infield of the Test Track and advance the Production Cycle token one space. You can see an image of this step below:
Now let’s talk about end-of-week scoring. At the end of the week, during my turn and when I am at my desk, I will reward you for testing upgraded designs in the factory models.
For each car in your garage, you’ll score the upgrades to that model. You get 2 pp for each upgrade you made (these are your Tested Designs for that Model), and 1 pp for each upgrade someone else made.
Example: I have 2 yellow and 1 red car in my garages. Innovation has a total of 3 upgrades in the yellow Model, 2 of them were made by me. I know that, because I have those upgraded designs next to my Player Board.
Here’s what happened: I have a couple of cars in my garages. One is red, and the other two are yellow. Now, the yellow cars have some upgrades to them. In fact, I’ve made two of those upgrades myself. How do I know? Well, because I have these fantastic designs right next to my Player Board. They’re a clear reminder of my engineering skills and the improvements I’ve made.
When you examine the yellow Model in Innovation, you’ll notice three upgrades. As a result, you earn four product points (pp) for testing the upgrades you made (2 times 2), in addition to one pp for testing the upgrade created by another person. Since you have two yellow cars, you replicate this outcome, giving you a grand total of ten pp.
On the other hand, the red Model doesn’t feature any upgrades. This implies that you didn’t test anything, resulting in zero pp for you.
You know, I’ve noticed something interesting about those cars in your garage. The black, blue, and green Models seem to have some pretty fancy upgrades. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to test them out, so I can’t tell you exactly how much pp you can get from them. But hey, who needs fancy upgrades anyway?
Time’s Up!
Here’s something important: the end of the game is marked by two things—the Production Cycle marker and the Week marker. When one of them reaches the third space and the other reaches the second space, that’s it, game over!
But don’t worry, we still have some things to do before we wrap things up. Finish up the day, which might include a Meeting or End-of-Week Scoring, or perhaps both. And then we move on to the Final Scoring. Until then, just keep on playing!
The Final Scoring:
When the game comes to an end, it’s time for the final scoring. Here’s what you need to do:
First, take all of your face-up Seats from the Administration area and move them to the Seat space on your Player Board. This is where you’ll keep track of your Seats.
- If you want to score achievements on the Final Goals tile, spend 1 Seat per achievement. You can score all the goals, and they’re not exclusive to any player.
- For every Shift you have in the Shift Bank, you earn 1 pp.
- Earn 1 pp for each Seat, Book, or Parts Voucher on your Player Board.
- If you have cars in your garages, you earn pp equal to the value shown on the wall between the Test Track and Innovation.
- For each Tested Design you have, earn pp equal to the value of the Car Part. A Tested Design is an Upgraded Design for a car in your garage. You only need one car to test all the upgraded designs for that Model.
To calculate the scores in each department’s training track, we follow a specific set of rules. First place earns 5 points, second place earns 3 points, and third place earns 1 point. In the case of a tie, the player whose disc reached the top of the stack later is considered higher and gets the points. Players who fail to make any progress receive a score of 0 points.
If there is a tie in the total score, we have a series of tie-breakers to determine the winner. The first tie-breaker is the player with the most Cars. If that doesn’t break the tie, we move to the next tie-breaker, which is the player with the most Tested Designs. If there is still a tie, we check the player with the most Shifts in the Shift Bank. If the tie persists, we look at the player with the most Certifications. Finally, if all tied players have the same number of points along all tie-breakers, they are all considered winners.
