If I’m selling a tile, I not only get the money from selling it, but I also get back the gold I assigned to that tile. If I’m buying a tile, I place it next to my screen and later, in phase 5, I’ll add it to my clan territory.

If I can’t or don’t want to buy a tile, I have to pass. Once everyone has either bought a tile or passed, I get to keep the tiles in front of me, but I lose the gold I assigned to those tiles. The lost gold goes back to the general supply.

5. Build

When I play this game, I have to make sure I add all of the tiles I receive to my clan territory. It’s important to follow the placement rules when adding the tiles. First, each tile I add must connect to another tile in my display. This means the new tile must touch at least one side of another tile. It can even touch a tile I just placed.

But there’s one more rule I have to keep in mind. If two tiles touch each other, the terrain on that edge must be the same. So if one tile has pasture on one side, the tile it touches must also have pasture on the corresponding side. The same goes for mountain and water.
