In the captivating game of Hula Hippos, your mission is to collect as many balls as possible. But be careful, my friend! The ground is moving and shaking, so stay on your toes and keep those hippos hula-ing to snatch those bouncing balls!
Rule #2: Control Your Hippo with Lightning Speed
Get ready to show off your lightning-fast reflexes! To control your hippo, use the arrow keys on your keyboard. Swiftly move left and right to catch the balls. Remember, speed is of the essence here, so be quick on your feet!
Rule #3: Power-Ups and Obstacles
Keep an eye out for those special power-ups and tricky obstacles! Power-ups will boost your hippo’s hula skills, allowing you to catch even more balls. Be careful, though, as obstacles like the spinning flowers can make your hula-hippo journey more challenging. Stay focused and show them your hula-licious moves!
Rule #4: Aim for the High Score
The thrill in Hula Hippos isn’t just about bouncing balls – it’s about achieving the highest score! Every ball you collect earns you points. Make your way up the leaderboard by reaching for the highest possible score. It’s time to unleash your inner hula-hippo champion!

Hey there! Wanna be the first person to get all four of my hippos into or under that wooden hoop when it stops spinning? It’s a super fun game, let me show you how to set it up and play!
Setting Up the Game
Heads up: This game works best on smooth, flat surfaces like wooden tables or floors.
- First, grab six hippos of the same color for each player. Any extra hippos go back in the box.
- Put your hippos in a line in front of you, making sure they’re lying flat-side-up.
- Take that wooden hoop and place it right in the middle of the playing area.
How to Play
Let’s talk about Hula Hippos – it’s a fun game that is played in rounds. When you’re ready to start the first round, hold the hoop up with your thumb and forefinger and spin it onto the playing surface.
As soon as the hoop starts spinning, we all try to flick our hippos to get them inside or underneath the hoop when it stops. It’s an exciting challenge that requires quick thinking and coordination.
Hippo Flicking Rules:
The rules for flicking hippos are pretty straightforward:
– You can only flick each hippo once. No second chances!
– You can only use one hand to flick the hippos. No double-flicking allowed!
– Don’t touch the hoop while it’s spinning. Let it do its thing!
Ending a Round
When the hoop finally stops spinning, all flicking must come to an immediate halt. This is the moment of truth! Any hippos that end up inside the hoop or just underneath it are winners of the hula contest. Congrats, hippos! This round is over, so remove the winners from the game and place them safely back in the box.
Let’s Begin a New Round
If you have any hippos left, gather them together and arrange them in a line right in front of you. Now, it’s time for another player to start a new round by picking up the hoop and spinning it onto the playing surface.
Finishing the Game
We’ll keep playing rounds until one player manages to flick four hippos into the hoop. But what if there’s a tie? Well, in that case, we’ll continue playing until one player flicks five hippos into the hoop. It’s all about flicking those hippos!
