Discover the Exciting World of Heimlich & Co. – Learn the Game Rules

Welcome, my friend! Today, let’s explore the amazing universe of Heimlich & Co., a thrilling game that will keep you on your toes. Sit back, relax, and let me guide you through the rules that will help you conquer and conquer again!

Objective of the Game

Before we dive into the nitty-gritty, let me tell you about the goal of Heimlich & Co. In this game, your mission is to become the richest player by cleverly navigating through the secret agents’ network. To achieve this, you’ll need to gather valuable information and outsmart your opponents. Are you up for the challenge?

Playing the Game – Step by Step

Now, let’s break down the gameplay into simple steps:

  1. Each player chooses a secret agent color. Remember, your secret agent will be your ally throughout the game, so choose wisely!
  2. All players place their secret agent pawns on the starting point of the score track.
  3. Next, shuffle the movement cards and deal five cards to each player. These cards will determine your actions during the game.
  4. Prepare the board by placing the building tiles face down and shuffling them. Then, place them in a grid formation, creating the city streets of Europe.
  5. Now, it’s time to reveal the first building. Turn over the top building tile and place it on the game board.
  6. Players take turns clockwise. On your turn, you have two choices: you can either play a movement card or discard a movement card to move your secret agent pawn. Your goal is to strategically gather information tokens hidden behind the buildings.
  7. After you take your action, draw a new movement card to replenish your hand to five cards.
  8. The game continues in this manner until the final building is revealed. At this point, the game enters its final phase, and players will reveal their secret agent identities.
  9. Count up your information tokens and add any additional bonuses you may have earned throughout the game. The player with the most valuable collection of tokens wins the game and becomes the ultimate master spy!

In order to rack up the most points, you’ll need to strategize wisely. Points are awarded based on which building your agents are in when the safe is cracked open.

A Sneak Peek Behind the Scenes

Imagine being the head honcho of your country’s top-secret spy agency, dispatching your elite agents into the field for a race against time. Their mission: to acquire classified info stashed away in a secure safe.

This top-secret safe is constantly on the move within a little known town, hopping from one building to another. Every time an agent cracks it open, every agent gains more valuable intel.

Throughout the game, it’s vital to keep your agents’ true identities under wraps. To accomplish this, players can move any agent on the board. The player with the most intel at the end of the game is crowned the ultimate winner!

I’ll walk you through the process of setting up the game, “Secret Agents Unleashed!” It’s a super fun game where you get to be a secret agent and complete exciting missions.

  • First, we need to prepare the materials. For each person playing, we’ll need a Scoring Token, a Secret Agent Playing Piece, and a Secret Agent Passport Card. If we have any extra sets, we can just put them back in the box.
  • Next, we’ll set up the playing area. Take all the secret agents and put them in the Church. You’ll see it marked with a number 0.
  • Now, let’s get the Scoring Tokens ready. Put them on the Start/Finish space in the bottom left corner of the board.
  • Lastly, let’s put the safe in Building 7. We’re all set up and ready to start the game!
  • I’ll start by giving you a brief overview. In this game, each player will get a secret agent passport card, which they keep face-down. This card determines the country or agent they will be playing as. The remaining cards are placed under the gameboard and are called “free agents.”

To start the game, the oldest player takes the first turn. During gameplay, players roll a die and move their agents clockwise around the board. Moving from one building to the next counts as one movement point. Multiple agents can occupy the same building. Players have the freedom to move any agent, including their own, and can choose to move multiple or just one agent.

I’m going to give you some important information about using dice in a game. Here’s what you need to know:

    1. When you roll the die, you have to use all of the movement points that show on it.
    2. If you roll a “1-3,” you can decide how many movement points you want to use – either 1, 2, or 3.

Example: Imagine this: I roll a 6 and I have three agents standing in the Church. Now, I need to decide how to use my six movement points among them.

I decide to move my Russian agent from the Church to Building 2, my Italian agent from the Church to Building 3, and my French agent from the Church to Building 1. It’s up to me how I divide the points, as long as I use all six of them.

I could have chosen to move all six agents one building each. Or, I could have moved just one agent, but all the way to the 6th building. The important thing is to use up all my movement points.

    Creating Scoring Situations

A “scoring situation” happens when I make a move and end up with an agent in the building that has the safe. It’s important to note that simply passing through that building isn’t enough to create a scoring situation. The agent needs to actually stop there to score.

When the agent goes inside the building and cracks open the safe, something interesting happens. They uncover valuable information that all the other agents can use. The number on the building where each agent is located indicates how much information they have gathered.

In order to keep track of the information, the player who caused the scoring situation moves all the Scoring Tokens for each agent. Each Scoring Token is moved a number of spaces equal to the building number where the agent is located.

But there’s a catch when it comes to the old Ruins. It’s a risky place, so if a player is there during a scoring situation, they lose three points. And remember, when moving the Scoring Tokens backwards, they can’t go further back than the Start position.

Now let’s talk about the Church. It’s a special place because it’s neutral. That means if a player is in the Church during a scoring situation, they neither gain nor lose any information.

Example: The safe is located in Building 7. When you finish your turn in that building, you create a scoring opportunity. The German agent can be found in Building 4, while the Russian agent is hiding in the Ruins. As for the rest of the agents, they are all inside the Church.

When I made a move that affected the Swedish player, I propelled their green Scoring Token forward by 7 spaces, and the grey token belonging to the German agent by 4 spaces.

I then had to move my red token back three spaces. However, since the Church doesn’t impact any player’s progress, I left the Scoring Tokens of the agents in the Church untouched.

Now, onto moving the safe. After adjusting the Scoring Tokens, it was my turn to relocate the safe to a different building. But remember, if I move the safe to a building that already has agents in it, it doesn’t create a scoring situation.

As for the next turn, it was time to pass the play to the player on my left. We would just keep going like this until one of the Scoring Tokens reaches or goes past the Finish, which is actually the same space as the Start.

And finally, when the game draws to a close, we’ll see who comes out on top.

When it comes to playing the game, it’s important to know how it ends. The game ends as soon as one or more of the Scoring Tokens reach or go past the Finish line.

Once the game is over, it’s time to reveal your Secret Agent Passport Cards. Make sure to check if you have any of the free-agent Secret Agent Passport Cards hidden under the gameboard. The winner of the game is the player whose Scoring Token reached or passed the Finish line.

If there are multiple tokens that reached or passed the Finish line, the winner is determined by which token moved the furthest. If the winning token matches one of the free agents, then none of the players are considered winners.
