Friday the 13th Game Rules
Hey there! Welcome to the official page of the Friday the 13th game. If you’re new here, you’ve come to the right place. Today, I want to talk about something very exciting – the game rules!
First things first, let me give you a quick overview of how the game works. In this game, you have two roles to choose from: either you can be one of the camp counselors trying to survive the attacks of the infamous Jason Voorhees, or you can play Jason himself, hunting down the counselors one by one.
Now that we have that cleared up, let’s dig into the rules. For the counselors, your primary goal is to stay alive until help arrives. Sounds simple, right? Well, not so fast! You see, Jason is no ordinary villain. He has some special abilities that make your survival a real challenge.
As a counselor, you need to be quiet and stealthy. Making a lot of noise will attract Jason’s attention. If he finds you, don’t panic! You can try to fight back or run away, but remember, Jason is a formidable opponent. It’s best to work together with your fellow counselors, strategize, and find a way to outsmart him.
On the other hand, if you choose to play as Jason, your task is to find and eliminate the counselors. You have some incredible powers at your disposal, like teleportation and enhanced senses. But beware, the counselors are not defenseless. They can find weapons, set traps, and even call for help if they manage to repair the phone line.
Each game session takes place in a different location, like the iconic Camp Crystal Lake or other eerie spots from the movies. The game also offers various game modes, such as single player challenges, offline bots, and online multiplayer. So, whether you want to test your skills against AI or challenge your friends, we’ve got you covered.
Finally, let’s talk about the most important rule of all – have fun! The Friday the 13th game is all about immersing yourself in the thrilling world of horror and suspense. So grab your controller, turn off the lights, and get ready for an unforgettable gaming experience.
Remember, whether you’re a counselor or playing as Jason, the key to success is teamwork, communication, and a dash of cunning. So, what are you waiting for? Join the game and show us what you’ve got!

Hey, folks! It’s amazing how superstitious we humans can be, isn’t it? We get spooked by things like black cats, broken mirrors, and walking under ladders. And of course, there’s that infamous day – Friday the 13th! Yikes!

What You’ll Find in the Box
- 50 cards with numbers
- 3 cards summarizing the rules
The Goal of the Game
The goal is to have the lowest score for bad luck by the end of the game. You earn points at the end of each round, and the game consists of 4 rounds.
Setting Up the Game
At the beginning of each round, the cards are shuffled and distributed equally among all players.

Alright, let’s talk about how to play this game. It’s pretty simple, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Don’t worry, I’ll walk you through it step by step – you got this!
Setting Up
First things first, let’s get everything ready. The number of cards you’ll need depends on how many players there are. If there are three of us, we’ll need one extra hand of cards that we won’t use right away. Just keep it face-down – we’ll come back to it later.
The Game Turn
Now that we’re all set up, let’s start playing! The first player begins, and then we take turns clockwise. On your turn, you’ll pick one card from your hand and play it face-up in the middle. There are three main types of bad luck: black cat, broken mirror, and walking under a ladder. Make sure to put your card in the right pile!
At the beginning of each round, there won’t be any cards on the table. You can play Friday the 13th cards in any pile, but there isn’t a specific pile just for them. Oh, and one important thing – don’t start a fourth pile for these cards. Instead, play your card so that everyone can see the values of the cards already played. Don’t forget to announce the new total for that pile!
If the total is not more than 13, it’s your turn. If the total goes over 13, you take all the cards that were played and make a new pile in front of you. The card you just played starts the new pile. Then it’s the next player’s turn.

Example: So here’s the deal – Jules throws down a Friday the 13th card, worth 4 points, onto the pile of black cat cards. And just like that, the total is now “13”. Pretty cool, huh?
Now Marielle joins in and plays a broken mirror card worth 4 points, pushing the total past 13. Uh-oh! She has to pick up all the broken mirror cards that were played before her. But don’t worry, her “4” stays on the table to start a new broken mirror pile.
Okay, so that’s how one round goes. The round ends when everyone has played all their cards. Some cards will be left on the table in the different piles.
Now comes the fun part – scoring! Each player looks at their cards and counts how many they have of each bad luck omen: cats, mirrors, and ladders.
If a player has more cards of a certain type than anyone else, they have to get rid of all their cards of that type. But if there’s a tie, nobody has to discard any cards.
Got it? Good. Let’s keep playing then!
When it comes to playing the game, it’s important to keep in mind how many bad luck points each card is worth. For example, each remaining omen card is worth one bad luck point, while each Friday the 13th card is worth two. So, even though the value of a card doesn’t affect the bad luck points it scores, it’s crucial to remember these values when playing.
During the game, you can’t discard Friday the 13th cards, so they’ll always be a part of your hand. Instead, you’ll need to focus on managing the rest of your cards to minimize your bad luck points. Record the points for each player as you play, and don’t forget to factor in the values of the cards!
Once the round is over, it’s time to start a new one. But be prepared, because the game isn’t over until you’ve completed four rounds. Whoever has the fewest bad luck points at the end of the game is the winner. So, make sure to strategize and play wisely to minimize your points!
Here are some strategy tips to help you along the way:
When a new round begins, take a moment to analyze your hand. Look at how many cards you have of each type and what their values are. This will give you a better idea of what you’re working with and help you plan your moves.
Try to predict if you can take the majority of a certain type of bad luck with as few cards as possible. Balancing the number of cards you play and the potential points they’ll earn you is key to minimizing your bad luck points.
Keep in mind that if you manage to collect all the black cat cards, nobody will score bad luck points from them. This can be a powerful move to secure your lead or catch up to the other players.
With these tips in mind, you’ll be well-equipped to navigate the game and strive for victory. Good luck, and remember to stay ahead of the bad luck!

Let me show you how scoring works using an example with three players:
First, the player with the highest score from the previous round goes first. Let’s say that’s me.
Now, I roll the dice. I get a 4, a 2, and a 6. Pretty good start!
I look at the dice and see that I have a few options. I could keep the 6 and add it to my score right away. Or, I could take a chance and roll again, hoping for an even higher number.
After some thought, I decide to go for it and roll again. This time, I get a 3, a 1, and a 5. Not as good as I was hoping for, but not bad either!
I look at my dice again and see that I now have a 3, a 5, and a 6. That’s a total of 14. I could stop here and add 14 to my score, or I could roll again and try to get an even higher number. It’s a tough decision.
After considering my options, I decide to stop and add 14 to my score. It’s a decent score, but I’ll have to wait and see how the other players do.
Next, it’s the second player’s turn. They roll the dice and get a 1, a 2, and a 4. Not a great start, but they have options just like I did.
They decide to roll again and get a 3, a 3, and a 5. They now have a total of 15. They could stop and add 15 to their score, or they could roll again and take a chance.
They decide to stop and add 15 to their score. It’s a good move, considering they have a higher score than me.
Finally, it’s the third player’s turn. They roll the dice and get a 2, a 4, and a 5. Not a bad start at all!
They decide to roll again and get a 2, a 1, and a 6. Now they have a total of 20! That’s an impressive score.
They could stop and add 20 to their score, or they could roll again and see if they can get an even higher number.
They decide to stop and add 20 to their score. It’s a smart move, considering they have the highest score so far.
And that’s how scoring works in a nutshell. The player with the highest overall score at the end of the game wins. It’s all about strategy and taking calculated risks.
