First things first, grab three AA batteries and insert them into the Chrono Decoder. Don’t forget to gather all the keys, components, and hint cards that go with the adventure you’ve chosen to play.

Objective: Crack the Codes!
The goal of the game is to solve the secret codes hidden within each adventure. There are three parts to every adventure, and in each part, you’ll need to discover a code made up of four keys. Sounds thrilling, right?
Your challenge is to find three correct codes within 60 minutes. Stay focused, work together, and you’ll come out victorious!

Now that we’re all set up, it’s time to dive into the game! But hold on tight – there are a few rules to keep in mind.
Firstly, never open any envelopes or sealed items unless you’re specifically instructed to do so. Each clue has its own perfect moment, and we don’t want to spoil the fun!

Alright, let’s get started with your chosen adventure!
First, take envelope part 1 and read the introduction letter on the back slowly and out loud. If you prefer, you can also watch the video on the website.
Now, it’s time to open the envelope. Check if everything inside matches the description under the back flap. If it’s all there, great! Take out all the items from the frame.
Next, slide the button on the bottom of the Chrono Decoder to turn it on, and then press START. The clock will begin counting down from 60 minutes, signaling the start of the game.
If you want some extra music to enhance the experience, you can use the app. Just press the play button in the app at the same time that you press the start button. It’ll add an extra layer of excitement to your adventure!
All of us need to carefully examine the materials we have, front and back. Look for clues, codes, riddles, and puzzles. We have to work together as a team. Once we find the first of the three codes, use the four keys that match it to unlock the Chrono Decoder.
If the code is correct, we’ll hear a special sound that confirms it. That means we can move on to the next part of the adventure and start deciphering the second code. When we enter the third correct code, we’ll hear a victory tune and the timer will stop.
Remember, the Chrono Decoder is important for this game. It keeps track of our progress and makes sure we’re on the right track to victory.
When you’re playing the game, you might see the letters ER on the screen. This is a crucial clue because it tells you that you need to use one of two decoder systems on the Chrono Decoder, or find information from the top and front of the device.
Remember, you should only use the Chrono Decoder if you see the text or ER logo. Each adventure only uses one type of cipher. Make sure to study the ciphers carefully before you begin the game.

Once you discover a code, put the 4 keys in the Chrono Decoder from left to right.
If you enter the wrong code, you’ll hear an ‘error’ sound, and 1 minute will be taken away from your remaining time. Don’t worry, just try again to find the right code.
You have to crack this code before you can move forward. If the code is correct, you’ll hear a ‘confirmation’ sound, and the clock will keep ticking. Remember to take the keys out of the Chrono Decoder after you enter a code.
Keys
This is really important!
The game has a total of 16 keys. These keys have 6 different sides, and each side corresponds to a different code that you will come across during the game. The rest of the keys are exact copies.
Do you notice something interesting when you take a closer look at these keys? There are two keys, one with a circle and one with a square, that have the exact same design on both sides. But the other two keys have different designs on the front and back. It’s important to carefully examine the keys before you begin the game!

Hey there! So, I’ve got a little something for you – hint cards! They’re super helpful in your adventure, trust me. You’ll come across 8 hint cards throughout your journey. When you hear a ‘beepbeep’ sound, it means you can take a hint card. Exciting, right? You don’t have to read it right away if you don’t want to, but it definitely adds a bit of a challenge. When you’re ready, just slide the hint card into the Hint Decoder.
Now, here’s the deal – every adventure requires the use of the Hint Decoder, and you’ll find it in adventure 1. Make sure to keep it close!
Oh, and one thing – read those hint cards carefully and all the way through! If you don’t actually need the hint, that means you’re doing great and staying right on track. Keep it up!
- Number: This is the order in which you should follow the hint cards.
- Part 1, 2, or 3: Each hint corresponds to a specific part of the adventure.
- Answers: Some hints provide the correct code. You can decide whether to use them now, later, or not at all.
- Time: Never read a hint card before the designated time has passed.

If you successfully enter three correct codes into the Chrono Decoder within 60 minutes, you’ll hear triumphant music, and you’ll have won the game!
