As you progress through the game, you’ll earn victory points for various achievements, such as completing building projects or gaining influence in different districts. The player with the highest total victory points at the end of the game wins the crown of Emara!

Hey there! Let’s talk about a cool game called “How Far Can You Recede Your Building”! This game is all about scoring as many points as possible. To make things interesting, you can choose how difficult you want the game to be by changing the starting position of your building. Pro tip: starting between 15 and 40 is a good range for a fun challenge!

Now, when you’re playing this game, Victoria also joins in on the fun. But here’s the thing – her score doesn’t count towards YOUR highscore. She’s just there to compete for Nobility Cards and the Construction Site, which are super important (more on that later).

Hey there! Let me tell you about a cool variant of the game where you can challenge Victoria and try to improve your performance with each round. The goal is to beat Victoria while starting from a lower position than before. It’s kind of like a game within a game!

Here’s how it works: In your first game, you start at position 40. If you win, you get to decrease your starting position by 5 for the next game. So, if you win the first game, your starting position for the second game would be 35.

But, if you lose the first game, don’t worry! You can always try again. In fact, losing actually helps you because it means you get to increase your starting position by 2 for the next game. So, if you lose the first game with a starting position of 40, your starting position for the second game would be 42.

Remember, the goal is to beat Victoria by getting a higher final score than her. Ties don’t count, so make sure you’re always aiming for the win!

Game Rules

These special rules apply to both versions of the game, so pay attention:

All the regular game rules still apply. But there’s something special about this version. Let me explain.

To set up the game, get everything ready as you normally would. But this time, grab an extra citizen in a different color. Put this citizen on the “0” mark of the scoring track to keep track of your points.

Put the Stone Marker and Bread Marker on the Construction Site, just like you would in a 4-player game. And place the Donation and Gift Markers on the Cathedral and Castle, like in a 2-player game.

Don’t forget to put the “An early winter” Event card back in the game box.

During rounds 2 to 6, here’s what you need to do next:

• When I work at the Construction Site, I earn Citizen Points just like I paid 1 Stone and 1 Bread. I’ll move the markers to reflect my earnings.
• As I advance in my noble rank, I get rewarded. I’ll take the top card from the next rank and create a stack next to the game board. This card will give me a certain amount of Citizen Points, just like before.

When you reach the end of round 6, it’s time to calculate your final score. This is done in the same way you usually do it, by comparing your Building Points and Citizen Points and choosing the lower value.
