Cha-Cha Chihuahua Game Rules
Welcome to the Cha-Cha Chihuahua Game!
I’m excited to share the game rules with you, so you can start playing right away! But first, let me explain what the game is all about.
The Cha-Cha Chihuahua Game is a fun and exciting game that involves collecting colored dog bones. To win the game, you need to be the first player to collect all four different-colored dog bones and make your way to the doghouse. Now let’s dive into the rules!
Setting Up the Game
So, here’s what you need to do to get started:
1. Set up the game board:
Take the game board and unfold it on a flat surface. It’s time to get the game started!
2. Choose a dog pawn:
Each player selects a dog pawn of their choice. There are four different dog pawns to choose from, each with a unique color. Pick the one that speaks to you!
3. Place the dog pawns:
Place all the dog pawns on the start spaces at the corners of the game board. This is where your journey begins!
4. Get the dog bones:
Shuffle the dog bone cards and place them face down in a stack next to the game board. These dog bone cards will determine which colored bones you collect.
5. Choose a dealer:
Determine who will be the dealer for the game. The dealer will be in charge of distributing the dog bone cards throughout the game.
Once you’ve completed these steps, you’re ready to start playing!
How to Play
Okay, here’s the fun part – playing the game!
1. Decide who goes first:
You can choose the player who looks the most like a dog or simply take turns. Either way, someone will start the game!
2. Draw a dog bone card:
The dealer will draw a dog bone card from the stack and reveal it to all players. The card will display one of four colors: green, blue, yellow, or red.
3. Move your dog pawn:
Using the color on the card, move your dog pawn along the path that matches the color. You can only move forward, and you must follow the specific color path indicated by the card.
4. Collect dog bones:
If you land on a space with a colored bone matching the one on the card, you collect it! Each player needs to collect all four different colors to win the game.
5. Pass the dealer role:
After each player has taken their turn, pass the dealer role to the next player in a clockwise direction. This ensures everyone gets a chance to be the dealer.
Keep playing, drawing cards, moving your pawn, and collecting dog bones until someone collects all four different-colored bones and reaches the doghouse!
Winning the Game
So, who will be the champion?
The game continues until one player collects all four different-colored dog bones and reaches the doghouse space on the game board. When this happens, that player is declared the winner of the Cha-Cha Chihuahua Game!

Here’s how you set up the game:
1. Take the cards and shuffle them. Place the deck facedown in the middle of the playing area to create a draw pile.
2. Gather all the Chihuahua figurines and place them together in the center, forming a dog pile.
3. Set up the Nap Shack by popping it up and putting it next to the draw pile.
4. Give each player a dance floor. If there are any extra dance floors, set them aside for now.
5. Each player chooses one Chihuahua from the dog pile and puts it on their dance floor.
Now, it’s crucial to remember this rule:
You must always place the Chihuahuas on your dance floor in a specific way:
Welcome to the Game!
Hey there! I’m excited to explain to you how to play this fun and exciting game. Let’s dive right in!
Game Play
Okay, so to start off, the player who has most recently pet a dog gets to go first. So make sure you’ve given some love to a furry friend before playing!
On your turn, you’ll flip over the top card and show it to everyone. This will be the card that starts or adds to the discard pile. Each card has an action written on it that you’ll need to follow. Once you’ve completed your action, it’s time to pass the turn to the next player. Remember, we’re going in a clockwise direction.
Card Actions
Now, let’s talk about the actions you might find on the cards.
Single Chihuahua Card
When you come across a card with a single chihuahua on it, something special happens! The card will have a specific instruction that you’ll need to follow. It’s all part of the fun and excitement of the game!
Let’s get ready to dance! Pick a Chihuahua from the group in the middle and put it on an empty square on the dance floor. Then, it’s time to bust out your best dance moves based on the card!
Double Chihuahua Card
Cha-cha Chow-chow
Chihuahuas don’t just love to dance, they also have a big appetite! If you want to get your hands on another player’s Chihuahua, all you have to do is tempt them with a tasty bowl of Cha-Cha Chow-Chow. Simply ask one of the other players to give you one of their Chihuahuas and place it on an empty spot in your dance floor.
Remember: You can do this as soon as you reveal the card, or you can save it for later by taking the card and putting it face-up in front of you. Then, on a future turn, when you draw a card from the pile, place that card in the discard pile and ask another player for one of their Chihuahuas.
Time for a Nap
When I dance in a cha-cha marathon, it’s a blast, but boy, does it tire me out! Sometimes, I need to give my furry friends, the doggies, a chance to rest too. So, here’s what I do: I check the color of the blanket on the card, and then I take a look at the dance floor. If any of my Chihuahuas happen to step onto a square that matches the color on the blanket, it’s time for them to head straight to the Nap Shack. I gently place those little figurines inside the cozy Nap Shack, giving them some much-needed downtime. Of course, if none of my dogs match the color, there’s no need for any action.
Welcome to the Nap Shack!
Hey there, dog lovers! Let’s get those little Chihuahuas off their snooze patrol and onto the dance floor. If any of those adorable pups are catching some Zs in the Nap Shack, it’s time to wake them up and bring them out to groove with us.
Gently scoop up all the Chihuahuas from the Nap Shack and place them on any open spaces on your dance floor. And hey, if the Nap Shack happens to be empty, don’t worry! Just take that card and put it face up in front of you. You can save it for later.
Speaking of which, on a future turn, instead of flipping a new card from the draw pile, you can grab that saved card from your stash and put it in the discard pile. Then, with a flourish, gather up all the drowsing Chihuahuas from the Nap Shack. They’ll be eager to join the paw-ty!
The grand finale
We keep playing and drawing cards until there aren’t any more Chihuahuas left in the dog pile. It’s a race to the finish, folks! Now comes the exciting part: we count up all the Chihuahuas on each player’s dance floor. The one with the most doggie dancers steals the show. And in case you’re wondering, if there’s a tie, well, guess what? Everybody wins! Woof!
