The Game’s Objective

The goal is simple – load all the gear onto Buckaroo without making him buck or dropping any of the gear. If he bucks or if any gear falls off, you’re out of the game. The winner is the last person to load a piece of gear or the last player remaining in the game.

Rules for the First Time You Play

Let’s get started! Take the game pieces out of their plastic wrappings and throw away the wrappings.

To assemble Buckaroo, start by attaching its front legs to the base. Simply slide the foot tabs forward so that they fit into the runners. Once in position, press the feet down until they snap into place. Finally, slide them back to complete the process. Refer to Figure 1 for visual guidance.

Slide the side switch (see Figure 2) to choose one of three skill levels: 1, 2, or 3. The higher the level, the more sensitive Buckaroo will be, and the greater the chance he’ll buck!

Put Buckaroo’s blanket on by sliding the tab into the groove on his back (see Figure 2). Remember, the blanket won’t sit flat on Buckaroo’s back.

Getting Ready

1. First, find a flat surface to place Buckaroo on. Make sure that the pile of gear is easily accessible to everyone.
2. Next, push down on Buckaroo’s bottom until his back legs touch the base. Afterward, push his tail down to securely lock him into place. Take a look at Figure 3 to see how it’s done.

If you want to avoid accidentally making the horse buck, you need to remove your hand gently.

Playing the Game

Whenever we play Buckaroo, the youngest player always goes first. That means if you’re the youngest, it’s your chance to start!

To begin, you gently place the saddle on Buckaroo’s blanket, just like in Figure 4. Make sure it sits nice and stable.

After you’ve made your move, the game continues clockwise, going to the next player on your left.

Keep the Turn Going!

It’s important to remember that the game keeps going in turns. Each player will have a chance to add an item to Buckaroo.

As the game progresses, Buckaroo’s load will get heavier, and that’s where the excitement begins!

Watch Out for Buckaroo!

Be careful not to upset Buckaroo too much, or you’ll set him off and he’ll buck! Don’t worry though, it’s all part of the fun.

Whenever Buckaroo gets too loaded and starts to shake, “Buckaroo!” you’ll hear, and that’s when the game comes to an end.

The player who added the last item before Buckaroo bucked is the one who loses the game.

So, Are You Ready?

Now that you know how to play, it’s time to gather your friends and start the game of Buckaroo!

Remember, the youngest player goes first, so if that’s you, go ahead and take the lead.

Enjoy the excitement of trying to load up Buckaroo without making him buck!

Put one of your chosen objects on the Buckaroo carefully. You can either hang it on one of the hooks or place it on another object that is already there.

When you put the piece on, make sure you don’t touch Buckaroo. It’s important not to do anything that might make him get angry!

If everything goes as planned: As the known fact goes, if Buckaroo doesn’t make a fuss and refuses to release any of his gear, then congrats! You’re still in the game, and now it’s the next player’s turn. But, be on guard! The next move might not be as smooth sailing as this one.

If things get a little messy: However, if Buckaroo acts up during your turn, kicking or creating chaos, and a piece of gear tumbles off his back, or even worse, if you lose your balance and fall off too, then sorry to break it to you, but you’re out of the game. But don’t worry, just push his bottom down again, lock him into place, and return any gear that fell to the pile next to Buckaroo. Now it’s the next player’s chance to give it a go.

End of the Game

Keep taking turns piling the gear onto Buckaroo’s saddle, until one of the following two things occurs:

• If a player successfully loads the last piece of gear, congratulations! You win the game! OR
• If only one player remains standing, well done! You’re the winner!
