When I’m playing the game, I can move the Maenad Cards in three different ways:

  1. I can send the Maenad Cards to one of three Bacchanalias using an Action Card. The number of Maenads of each color in the Bacchanalia determines the value of each color at the end of the game.
  2. I can take the Maenad Cards into my hand. If I have the most cards in a certain color, I score the value of that color at the end of the game.
  3. I can kidnap Maenad Cards using an Action Card that shows a Satyr. These cards allow me to score extra victory points at the end of the game, as shown on the Satyr Kidnap Scoring Reference Card.

When it’s my turn, I can choose to do one of the following:

  1. If I draw an Action Card from the deck, I add it to my hand and my turn ends.
  2. If I choose to send Maenads to a Bacchanalia, I need to pick the topmost Maenad Cards from one of the 5 columns, depending on the numbers on my Action Card (1, 2, or 3). I will then send them to the corresponding Bacchanalia (1, 2, or 3) in the order they appeared in the column.

Let me give you an example: Say you’re a player and you pick the Action Card 3-1-2. Now, you need to choose just one column – the middle one – and send the topmost card (orange) to Bacchanalia 3. Why Bacchanalia 3? Because the top number on the card is 3. Next, the second maenad (pink) goes to Bacchanalia 1, while the third one (green) goes to Bacchanalia 2.

Here’s an important tip: When the kidnapping happens, you have a choice. Instead of putting one of the potential kidnapping cards in your kidnap pile, you can keep it in your hand. It’s up to you!

Let’s look at another example: Imagine you play a 3-2 Satyr Action Card. You have the power to use the card in a regular way. Simply choose a column, send the topmost card to Bacchanalia 3, and the next one to Bacchanalia 2.

If we take a closer look at the top Maenad Cards, we’ll notice a pattern – 2 out of the 5 cards feature the Satyr symbol. We can use this knowledge to our advantage during the game. Instead of playing the card normally, we can choose to use it to kidnap the orange and yellow Maenad cards, adding them to our kidnap pile. Optionally, we can keep one of these cards in our hand.

Bacchus Symbol Maenad Cards

Hey there! Let’s talk about Bacchus Symbol Maenad Cards. They’re really interesting! Some of these cards have a special symbol that represents Bacchus. Now, here’s where things get cool: when you have a Bacchus symbol Maenad Card at the very top of a column (you know, the leftmost one), you have a special ability. You can actually move that card to the top of another column before you play an Action Card on your turn. How awesome is that?

But wait, there’s more! You can move as many Bacchus symbol Maenad Cards as there are at the top of their columns. However, there’s a catch. If there are any other Bacchus symbol Maenad Cards that get revealed when you move the topmost card, you can’t move them. They have to stay in place.

The End of the Game

Once 4 out of the 5 columns have run out of Maenad Cards, it’s game over. At this point, all players must reveal the Maenad Cards they have in their hands.

The player who has collected the most Maenad Cards of any single color will be victorious, earning all the points associated with that color in each Bacchanalia.

Here’s how the points work: in Bacchanalia 1, you get one point for each Maenad Card of that color. In Bacchanalia 2, you get two points per Maenad Card of that color. And in Bacchanalia 3, you receive three points per Maenad Card of that color.

But there’s an important rule: in case of a tie, all players who are tied score the full value of that color. They add up all the points they earn and include the value of their kidnapped Maenads, as stated in the Satyr Kidnap Scoring Reference Card.

The player with the highest total number of points is crowned the winner – they’re the craftiest and most mischievous Satyr!

Here’s an Example of Scoring:

  • Yellow value: 3×1 + 4×2 + 2×3 = 17
  • Blue value: 3×1 + 1×2 + 2×3 = 11
  • Green value: 4×1 + 5×3 = 19
  • Pink value: 1×1 + 3×2 + 1×3 = 10
  • Orange value: 2×1 + 3×2 + 4×3 = 20

Hey there! Let’s crunch some numbers, shall we? Here’s a breakdown of the card values:

First up, we have the yellow cards. To calculate the yellow value, I multiply the number of cards I have in each position by their respective weights and sum it all up. For example, 3x the value of card 1, plus 4x the value of card 2, plus 2x the value of card 3, gives me 17 points. Neat, right?

Then we move on to the blue cards. Following the same method of calculation, I get a blue value of 11 points. Easy peasy!

Now let’s look at the green cards. By multiplying the number of cards I have in each position by their weights, I find that my green value is 19 points. Pretty cool, huh?

Onto the pink cards. After carrying out the calculations, the pink value comes out to be 10 points. Not too shabby!

Lastly, we have the orange cards. Crunching the numbers one last time, the orange value adds up to 20 points. Awesome!

Now that we have all the values in place, it’s time to determine the scores and winners. Let’s see who takes the glory!

Anna – the yellow cards master – wins big with a score of 25 points. She also managed to kidnap 5 Maenads, which is worth an extra 8 points. So her grand total comes out to be 25 points. Well-done, Anna!

Bruno, the blue card aficionado, secures a respectable 15 points. He kidnapped 3 Maenads, which adds 4 points to his score. Bruno finishes with a total of 15 points. Nice work, Bruno!

Carlo, the master of pink cards, proves his worth with a score of 10 points. He also has the same number of orange cards as Dario, bringing his total to 20 points. Good job, Carlo!

There you have it, folks! The final scores are in, and the winners have been crowned. It was a close competition, but in the end, Carlo emerges victorious with a grand total of 30 points. Congratulations, Carlo! Great game, everyone!
