- There are 90 Item Cards
- 5 Steal Cards
- 5 Reappraise Cards
- 12 Appraisal cards
- 8 character playing pieces with stands
- 1 vault
- And of course, instructions!
Here’s the Objective
Guess what? You get to be one of Aunt Millie’s heirs fighting for her fortune. Just think about it: speed, strategy, and persuasion are your weapons to snag the most valuable items.
Your goal is to be the first one to get an item in each of the five colors. That’s how you win, but only if your total value is higher than everyone else’s. Simple, right?
So, how do we get started?
The very first time you play this game, pop out the character pieces and stick them into the stands. Ready to begin!
Journey into the realm of imagination and discovery with me. We embark on a game where characters come alive and stories unravel! A magical world awaits as we each select our playing piece.
Take a moment to connect with your character. They will be your companion, your alter ego, throughout this adventure. Close your eyes and envision who they are, how they speak, and how they relate to our beloved Aunt Millie.
When everyone is ready, let’s bring our characters to life! Introduce yourselves with a single sentence, revealing your unique bond with Aunt Millie. Share the wonders of your connection in the spirit of enchantment. For instance, “Greetings! I am Bernice, Aunt Millie’s faithful confidante through half a century of friendship.”
Okay, here’s what we’re gonna do. We’ll mix up that Estate deck really well. Don’t peek, now. Take one card and hide it away in the vault. Keep it a secret.
Everyone gets 10 Estate cards. No peeking allowed, alright? Keep ’em facedown in front of you.
We gotta shuffle those Appraisal cards, too. Put ’em facedown within everyone’s reach.
Ready to Play
Now the fun begins. In Aunt Millie’s Millions, we play in rounds. To start a round, someone says, “One, Two, Three. Flip!” That’s the signal for everyone to turn over the top card from their pile and place it in the center. And guess what? No waiting turns! We all race to put our character pieces on top of a card.
When playing the game, there are a few rules to keep in mind. You can have up to two characters on an Item card, but only one character can be on a Steal or Reappraise card. It’s important that everyone places their characters on a card.
- When turning over your top card and placing your character on a card, use one hand for each action.
- Make sure to turn over cards facing away from you so that everyone can see them at the same time.
- Once you’ve placed your character on a card, you cannot move it, so think carefully before claiming a card!
Claiming Item Cards
If your character is the only one on an Item card, you can take the card and place it face down in front of you to create a row.
- You’re allowed to look at your won cards whenever you want.
- If you want a more competitive game, keep your won Item cards face up in your row.
If two characters are on an Item card, it’s called a “Squabble”. (See below for more details).
Cards Worth Unknown Value
Some Item cards have a question mark instead of a dollar value.
If you get one of these cards, pick a card from the Appraisal deck at random, look at it secretly, and put it face down under the Item card in your row. This card will determine the value of the item.
Only One Card per Color
You can only have one Item card of each color in your row. If you win an item in a color that matches one you already have, you must get rid of the old card and keep the new one. Put the old card aside in a “Charity” pile that doesn’t have a role in the game.
Stealing from Others

When I land on a Steal card, I have the power to snatch an Item card from another player that they claimed in a previous round. It’s a daring move that can really shake things up!
- I take a risk and choose a face-down card from my opponent’s row without peeking. Then, I reveal it to everyone and add it to my own row, also face-down.
- If the color of the stolen card matches one that I already have, I have to get rid of my own Item card and keep the one I stole. It’s a tough choice!
- If the card I stole is paired with an Appraisal card, I get to snag that one too. The tricky part is that I can’t tell anyone its value – it’s a secret!
- If there are multiple Steal cards in play during the same round, they cancel each other out and we all have to choose new cards. It’s a game of cat and mouse!
- And here’s the mind-bending part: the stolen Items can be swiped again by any player in a later round. It keeps us all on our toes!
Reappraise

If I land on a Reappraise card, I can choose any item in my row to reevaluate. First, I’ll show the item to the other players and then grab a card from the Appraisal deck without letting anyone see the new value.
Next, I’ll place the new card face down under the Item card that I reappraised. This new value will stick with the card, even if someone steals it!
I can reevaluate an item multiple times. When I do, I’ll return the first Appraisal card back to the middle of the deck. Appraisal cards can be worth anywhere from $0 to $52,500.
Squabble

So, here’s the deal. Let’s say two characters end up on the same Item card. It’s like a battleground for them, and they both want that item. But who gets it? Well, that’s where things get interesting.
When this happens, the character whose name is closer to “A” gets to pick someone to be the judge. This judge is the one who will decide who gets the item. Pretty important role, right?
Now, it’s time to make your case. Each player, starting with the character who picked the judge, has exactly 30 seconds to come up with a story. This story should explain why they deserve the item more than anyone else. It’s your chance to show off your character and convince the judge.
For instance, let’s say Claire is one of the characters. She might say something like, “I deserve this tea set because I have the best memories of sipping tea with my beloved Aunt Millie. We used to do it every Sunday, and it was the highlight of my week.”
But that’s not the end of it. The judge gets to ask each character a question about their story. This is where things get interesting. The judge wants to see how well you can defend your claim.
After the questioning is done, the judge makes their decision. And that decision is final. The player who gave the most convincing argument gets the item. It’s as simple as that.
- Now, remember, your story should be creative. This is your time to shine and show off your character’s uniqueness.
- And judges, no acting in character. This is a serious business, after all.
- If the same two characters get into another fight during the game, they take turns being the judge and going first.
Sequence of Actions
When these actions happen in one round: A steal happens first, then individuals claim one item each, followed by a reappraisal, and then a fight.
Start a New Round
Put unclaimed cards, as well as any steal or reappraisal cards, into a separate “Charity” pile that is not being used. Start a new round by flipping over the next cards at the same time.
End of the Game
The game ends at the end of any round when one player has collected one card of each of the five colors.
The player who achieves this will get a bonus of $500. (If more than one player achieves this at the same time, they both receive the bonus).

When we finish playing, it’s time to tally up our scores and see who comes out on top.
To find out who wins, each player adds up the values of all the cards they collected.
Once we have our totals, the player with the lowest score gets a special bonus – they get to keep the item in the vault!
Now, here’s the thing. The item in the vault might already be the same color as one of the cards in your row. That’s totally fine. You still get to keep it as a bonus.
If the vault has a Reappraise card, you have a chance to do some reevaluating. You can use the Reappraise card to change the value of one of the cards in your row, just like we talked about earlier.
Now, let’s say the vault has a Steal card. If that’s the case, you have the opportunity to steal the highest valued card from someone else’s row. Following the rules we discussed, you can take that card and add it to your own collection.
Alright, it’s time for the final count. We need to add up all the dollars and include the bonuses we earned. The player with the highest total value is the ultimate winner!
If You Want to Play More
Maybe you’re having a blast and want to keep the fun going. In that case, you can set a certain number of games to play before we start. I suggest three games.
After each game, make sure to write down the total score for each player. Keep track of everything. The player with the highest total at the end of the last game is the big winner!
