SUMMER CAMP
Welcome to Summer Camp! It’s all about having fun, competing with friends, and earning those valuable merit badges. As we enjoy the sunny days, we’ll also be working hard to collect experience points and build the most powerful deck we can!
LET’S GET READY
Alright, let’s start getting everything set up. First things first, find the game board and place it right in the middle of the playing area. Now, take a look at the assigned spaces on the board. See those? Great! They’re the spots where you’ll place the participation merit badges and the camp all-star merit badges.
Next, it’s time to choose which activities you’ll be doing in the game. You get to pick three activity packs from the bunch. Take your time to decide which ones you want to use throughout the game. Once you’ve made your choices, grab the corresponding activity cards and four merit badges for each activity from their boxes.
Alright, now that you have everything, let’s place those merit badges at the end of the board. They mark the finish line of your journey.
When we start playing, we all need to choose our player board and three pawns. Let’s make sure that the color of our pawns matches our player board. The snack bar tokens should be placed in the middle of the playing area, where everyone can easily reach them. Now it’s time to create our decks. Each of us should collect seven Lights Out cards and one card from each of the activity packs we chose. Once we’ve shuffled our decks, we should each have ten cards.
The first player is picked randomly by the group, and then we’ll take turns from there. To start the game, each player will draw a certain number of cards. The first player will draw three cards, the next player will draw four cards, and so on. This initial hand size is only for the first round. After that, we’ll all have a hand of just five cards. And with that, the game is ready to go!

GAMEPLAY
So, here’s how it works: I’ll start the game, and then we’ll take turns clockwise around the group. When it’s your turn, you can play any cards you want and buy cards from the display if you feel like it. You can do these actions as many times as you want and in any order you like.
Now, when you play a card, you’ve got a reason behind it. Maybe you want to use the action on the card or maybe you want to collect some energy to buy another card. Either way, when you play a card, you place it faceup on your board for everyone to see.
After I finish my turn, I have to get rid of all the cards I played and any cards in my hand. Then, I draw five new cards to make my new hand. The empty spots on the display get filled with a few cards from the draw pile. I also need to check if I earned any badges. Once I’m done, the next player can start their turn.
GAME OVER
The game ends when a player collects all the merit badges on each path. We need to make sure everyone has had the same number of turns. If not, we can rotate turns until everyone is even.
Hey there! So, to find out who comes out on top in the game, you’ve gotta do some math. Add up your experience points from those merit badges, along with your cards and pawns. The one with the highest total, that’s the winner!
