First things first, let’s talk about the objective of the game. The goal is simple: be the player with the highest-ranked card at the end of each round. To achieve this, you’ll need a mix of strategy, luck, and a keen eye for reading your opponents.

Now, let me break down the rules for you. The game is played with a deck of numbered cards, ranging from 1 to 15. Each player is dealt one card face-down, and then one card face-up. The face-up card is where the real action happens.

At this point, things get interesting. Players take turns either swapping their face-up card with the face-up card of another player or drawing the top card from the deck and swapping it with their face-up card. The catch is that you can only swap if the rank of the new card is higher than your current one.

But here’s the twist – throughout the game, there will be Kobayakawa cards. These cards serve as a wild card and have a rank of 0. If you have a Kobayakawa card, you can choose to use it as your face-up card, replacing your original card. This can be a game-changer, so choose wisely!

Once all players have had a chance to swap or draw a card, it’s time for the big reveal. Everyone flips their face-up card, and the player with the highest-ranked card wins the round. In the case of a tie, the player who kept their original card wins. Keep in mind that Kobayakawa cards always have the lowest rank, so be careful when using them.

The rounds continue until the deck runs out of cards, and then the game is over. The player with the highest total rank wins the game and becomes the ultimate Kobayakawa master!

Now that you know the rules, it’s time to gather your friends and start playing. Remember, the key to success is a mix of strategy, intuition, and a little bit of luck. So go ahead, seize the day, and may the Kobayakawa cards be in your favor!

Let’s start the game by giving each player 4 kamons. At the center of the table, there should be a stack of 8 kamons. If there are any extra kamons, just put them back in the box. The player who is the youngest will go first. Are you ready to begin?

How to Play

First, let’s get the game set up. Shuffle the cards and give one to each player. The remaining cards will be the deck, and they go face-down in the middle of the table.

Now, it’s time to reveal the Kobayakawa card. This special card will come to the aid of the player with the lowest number.

First, I’m going to look at my card carefully, making sure no one else sees it. Then the game is divided into two parts: the Draw phase and the Fight phase.

During the Draw phase, each player takes turns, starting with the first player and going clockwise. I have a few options to choose from:

• I can draw one card from the deck and compare it to the one I already have in my hand. After comparing, I choose one card to keep and discard the other by placing it face-up in front of me.

Now, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of the game. After the Setup phase, each player takes a turn. Once everyone has had a turn, we move on to the Fight phase.

Fight Phase

1 – Bet

Now it’s decision time. You can choose to fight or pass, and this decision is made in order. If you want to fight, you have to bet 1 of your kamons. If you’d rather pass, simply don’t bet anything.

2 – Fight

Once everyone has made their choice, only the players who decided to fight will reveal their cards. Pay attention! The player with the lowest-numbered card will add the Kobayakawa card to their total.

Here’s where it gets interesting. The player with the highest total wins the round! They get to collect all the kamons that were bet during the round, plus an extra kamon from the center of the table.

Unfortunately, losing all your kamons means you’re out of the game. So, make sure you think carefully before placing your bets!

When it comes to this game, the lowest value is 8. So I’ll add the Kobayakawa card, which has a value of 7, to that number, giving me a total of 15.

If there are multiple players with the highest number, the player who went first in the round is the winner. If you’re the only player in the fight, congratulations, you automatically win! And you don’t even need to show your card.

And just like that, the round is over. The winner of the round becomes the new start player. Keep going until there are only 2 kamons left in the center.

Final Round

In the final round, you have to bet 2 kamons to fight. The winner of the fight also gets both of the remaining kamons in the center. But don’t worry, if you only have 1 kamon, you can still bet it and fight.

End of the Game

Once the last round is over, tally up all of your kamons. The player with the most kamons is the winner! So keep playing and try to collect as many as you can.
